There are a lot of country songs ruth the mix of blues, soul, rock, r&b, hip hop, etc etc just like in other genres you find the same thing. It's why the idea that one tye of music belongs to one kind of person. This is a country song though. Maybe not what you think of as country but still.

All I ever heard was George Jones’s version before Chris came out with his. Never heard David Allen Coes version. I’m a big fan of George’s version with Chris’s a close second. This is a very old song, I grew up on George Jones singing it. It is a great song, not totally easy to sing, you should give George a listen, just for comparison. I believe Jones sang three octaves, which is awesome, any genre.

When ever possible you should react to his live performances over studio recordings...lessens the chances of copyright issues AND because he's so damn good live

I'm not into a lot of Country. Someone said listen to this song.....I was thinking this isn't going to be great....no way! I do like some Country .....not many. The first few bars was great .....but I knew song would be dull or same ole words!! Man......was I ever sooooo grateful to person who suggested......I'd never heard it!! So.....when Chris started to sing??? I already knew first 2 words that came out......he was Genuis!! I really didn't think it would last through song.....but BEST blasted SONG EVER!!!
This is a very old song, I grew up on George Jones singing it. It is a great song, not totally easy to sing, you should give George a listen, just for comparison. I believe Jones sang three octaves, which is awesome, any genre.
If this man doesn't win the awards for country song of the year then I'll never listen to country music ever again in my life. Chris Stapleton has wrote music for a lot of musicians. This was one of the songs he decided to keep and sing himself he didn't think he was a good singer but boy was he wrong. He's not a good singer he is a great singer there is a big difference and I'm glad he didn't give this song to anyone else and decided to keep it and sing it himself. Because no one can sing this song like him.

I just found your channel and subscribed. I honestly don't think there is anyone who doesn't like his voice. You should listen to his song Fly Away. Chris Stapleton is a living legend. He sings this song (Tennessee Whiskey) with Justin Timberlake on an awards show. I just saw where someone said that already. Lol
His wife sings with him. Their voices sound great together.
