@@angelabarazzone7899 I always say do the studio first then live. Studio is what you would hear on the radio/cd/stream first. Most of the live are great and near perfect or even better but a listener would need to know the original first then they can tell the difference. Salute 07

He’s from my hometown and not only is he a fabulous vocalist he’s an all around great human! Recently he donated a tractor trailer load of music equipment to the high school and has done many things to help out in the hills of eastern Kentucky.

I always love the reaction when people hear Chris's voice.
Even though, I grew up in East TN. I fought off the expected having to love country music as a kid. But, I still loved me some , Outlwaw Country. For those who do not know. That consist of artist like the great Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Willed Nelson, and my favorite Hank Williams Jr. I would put Chris Stapleton in that genre of country music. Eventually, I came around to loving much of country music. All those voices I have heard , in country from Vince Gill to Keith Whitley, who left us far to early. All the voices I heard in rock n roll, R&B, Soul, etc. Chris Stapleton has a voice that is better or as good as I ever heard in 40 year of listening to music. My daughter bought me the greatest Bday present , she could buy. We went to see him in Knoxville, Tn. And trust me. He sounds as good , live as he does in studio. in 30 year of going to rock and country concert's . He is the best live act I seen. If you ever get the opportunity to go see him live. Trust me , you will love it

I loved this! Chris crosses genre lines. He can sing country, bluegrass, rock and blues and no matter what he sings you feel it in your soul. I love first time reactions to him, especially when the person "gets it". He's actually friends with Justin Timberlake. Chris was on Justins song Say Something-(the video was done in one take) and they appeared together on the CMA's where they perform together on two songs. Tennesee Whiskey and Drink You Away. It's an epic live performance that I highly recommend. Also Barely Alive acoustic, Sometimes I Cry live at the Bing lounge, Death Row, and I Was Wrong. Any of his live performances.

There are two songs you have to hear by Chris Stapleton. Traveler and a song from when he was in a band called The Steeldrivers - Can You Run. Can You Run doesn’t display how well he can sing but shows how good of a songwriter he is. It took a few listens to figure out what he was talking about but once I did, it blew my mind. It’s one of those songs that will give you goosebumps every time you listen to it.
The woman he is singing about is his wife who is providing the harmony. You would be amazed at the other songs he has written. That includes a lot of other well known artists. Check out his stuff and you will be amazed at his chill.

Chris started as a professional songwriter in Nashville. That's where he met Morgane who would later become his wife and backup singer. She is a hell of a great singer in her own right (see You Are My Sunshine - Morgane Stapleton). The most amazing thing about Chris is even live he make his great voice look effortless. He's got a voice that's as smooth as Tennessee whiskey.

My advice to young people is to listen to every musical genre. You will be surprised at what you find. There will be something from each genre that you will love. And there will some that you absolutely loathe. But regardless of whether you hate it or love it, you will expand your musical knowledge. And you will have expanded your musical enjoyment. And don’t let the age of the music deter you. Listening to the music of decades past brings the past alive. You will find artists like Billie Holliday, Duke Ellington, Hank Williams Sr, Patsy Cline, BB King, Louis Armstrong, Waylon and Willie, Little Stevie Wonder, the Jackson 5, Elvis, Johnny Cash and so many more artists. It’s the old adage “never judge a book by it’s cover”. Well this is “ never judge an artist or song by it’s age”. Young people should sit back, relax and just go with the music. Feel the music, don’t analyze it. And let the music carry you away.
This man is amazing. Just listen and watch when you can. He plays the guitar and his wife is his backup singer, they have 5 children. I would love to see him in person at a concert but I can't afford the price. But I watch him and listen to him all the time. I hope you appreciate him like I do. He relates to life.
