I was born in 84, and until we moved to Sutton Coldfield in 1990, we used to get the train there from Selly Park to visit my grandparents. Whenever I see Cross City videos from that time, I always wonder if me or anyone I know are among the silhouettes on one of those passing trains. Great video as ever, thanks for posting!
Class 310 and 304 were my favourite EMUs. Used to ride the Walsall Birmingham New Street service every day.... Whenever they went over point work at speed, you nearly hit the ceiling, as their seats were so springy like old-fashioned sofas. XD
What is T413 called is it called a DMU I don't even know what that means tell the truth back in my days when I was a young man living in Birmingham I used to call them city trains many thanks for the memories I'm not into trains your videos do bring back some memories from me when I was a young boy living in Birmingham
Watching some of these railway vids from the 1980s is a reminder of just how bad britains railways were back then, some of the tracks were in a right state and as for condtion of the trains themselves, they really were in a very sorry and decrepit state the majority of them weren't they! I know a lot of us here in britain today complain about our railways and with good reason too in some instances but I think its fair to say that our rail network and trains today are in a hell of a lot of a better state than they were back in the 1980s! 🙂
