Absolute beast and great player for both Ireland and Munster.
Aaron yes 10000000000% correct THANK YOU CJ
Who is C J Sanders never heard of him till now.🤔
@@michaelpower4372 He is a superb Munster and Ireland rugby player who is retiring at the end of June this year.
@@michaelpower4372 originally from South Africa
@RepublicanGuard why these nasty words?
This man will be forever celebrated in the pubs and halls of limerick, munster & ireland fame. A true and earnest legend in the game of rugby if ever one trod the earth, he has served the people well and from now to the end of this year embarks on an emphatic homecoming back to his cherished farmland of george in south africa. Have a grand ol' retirement Ceej and we will see you in the next life.. the Michael Jordan of Rugby as he was told he wasn't good enough to succeed and in that failure he found a way to succeed. Cheers and Thx a mill.
Damn, well said Sir. A poetic send off.
He has the pase of a winger and the sheer strength of a prop, the handling of a fly half. He will be missed 🇮🇪🇮🇪
Best Irish player over the last decade. Literally drove us to Greater heights. Beast!!
Irish player😂😂😂
@@kristianhumphreys7984 well....yes, sort of....a Saffa, that qualified to play for Ireland. Haven't seen a player from Europe in the Bok squad....just saying. That said, bloody well done to CJ, what a legend!
@@kristianhumphreys7984 yes Irish player, just as a holiday to South Africa would be deemed a South African holiday, even though it couldnt possibly have a nationality, being a holiday. Your English is not as good as you think, buddy
As a Munster fan this man will be missed hugely by both Munster and Ireland
@@dylanarundel8924 I know but it'll be hard to be as good as him
@@dylanarundel8924 ya more than likely
What a fantastic, fast, powerful, great hands power forward! He sent so many backs flying backwards! And they both new it was going to happen! Same with him pounding in for a try at the line, or out-sprinting the opposite wings and 15. Thank you CJ!!
What a player, one of my favourite players to watch, coming from an England fan. All the best in retirement CJ!
Hard as nails, will go down as a Munster legend and a key player in Irelands best ever team. Hopefully we can give him some silverware for Munster! Great video cheers
I bet South Africa really regret not capping him before he left for Munster
Told him he was to small for no.8 certainly proved them wrong
I'm glad we didn't in a very roundabout way. I am happy that he got to play 50 for Ireland as opposed to a few games for the Boks and then getting thrown on the rubbish heap. World rugby got to see his talent, he got to play for his adopted second home as well as the British and Irish Lions, all while not showing any bitterness towards SA or SA Rugby. I am proud to still call him my countryman and wish him all the happiness in whatever he chooses to do.
Voorspoed CJ.
@@Karma-qt4ji South Africa would have taken him with both hands 2015-19
@@andyabram4195 Well, for the first half of that we would have needed a coach and the second half... no, I think Rassie nailed it with his selections, as witnessed by the gold 'silverware' in the cabinet. Besides, why should he wait until 2017-ish to get a game for the Boks? I believe he was good enough back in 2013 but I also feel that, given his options, he made the right call and I'm glad it worked out for him.
Just because he was great for Ireland doesnt mean he would of been good in the Boks.
Oh, heck. I did not know that he had retired. So young. He was really a strong bloke on the field, amazing career.
Young? Turns 31 in around 2 weeks.
He announced his retirement at the end of the season. He'll play his last test match for Ireland on Saturday. Here's hoping Munster sends him off in style
@@Karma-qt4ji yeah it’s young to retire think how old sextuplets is and POM it’s quite young to retire
As a Leinster fan I wish him luck and joy for the future. I will miss your highly entertaining and often quite wondrous penchant for looking for an opponent to literally barrel over - and then invariably barreling over them.! Thank you for your unflinching service.
Got inside many an opposite number's heads along with many other opponents he came into Contact with..
model of consistency. Pure class and hopefully stays on for the Lions tour
You’d love to see him leave Munster lifting the pro 14 in a few weeks
Love that man. Pure magic and rock solid. How the Boks let him over to us is fucking mental
He’s been a good servant of Irish Rugby 🏉 good luck with his future endeavours 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
Thank you- I knew that he was skillful and strong but I didn't realise just how fast he was!
High quality man and very good South African rugby player. Thanks to Ireland Rugby for giving him the opportunity to play on the World stage.
"An amazingly gifted player, who remained an unaffected human being."
he will be missed, love this man... Absolutely CLASS
A great playet...for Ireland and his club...sadly his home nation couldn't accommodate him...Currie Cup would've been his limit...
Raise s glass to a great player!
Never noticed how much pace he had till seeing some of these clips big lad has some wheels
And the number of tries scored as a forward...
What a man! What a player he was. Gave it 110% no matter what!
The man is a Tank... thanks for the memories
Thanks for that Andrew. He'll be missed round Limerick and Munster. Always gave a good, hardworking, honest performance. That's all the crowd wants really.
The powerhouse that is CJ Stander
A very strong player for Ireland, Munster and the Lions - a well earned retirement. All the best to him
Up there with Howlett as one of Munsters best imports
Edit: One of Irish rugby’s best imports
Well done!! AGAIN!! love C.J Stander....he'll be sorely missed!!
This man is a beast, running INTO people and not even blinking or trying to find a way around 😂
What a legend 🐐
Absolute respect. From France
We will miss you, thanx for the memories.
What a man, what a rugby player
Thanks CJ for what you have given to Munster rugby and to Irish rugby and all your supporters fans...a truly great player best of luck in your future and remember you are always welcome in kerry for a bbq, thanks for your power
Beast of a player🤴👑
Gonna miss him a lot a true Munster and Irish legend. Hard to believe I won’t see him in the Pro final I’d love to see him put it up to Leinster
He's not finished just yet. If selected for the lions will be it after that.
He said he's retiring after the mid year test window so we'll likely see him having a go at Leinster in the final
A legend of a man, a credit to his Country and family.
nothing much to say, one of greatest!
This guy surely answers the critics about playing for a national side other than your own country. CJ brought respect and honour to both Munster and Ireland every time he put on those jerseys. Enjoy your retirement CJ, you owe us nothing, and thank you for the memories
Y did this make me cry
Legend .will be sorely missed by Munster and Ireland ..Thank you CJ🏉🏉🏉💪
No idea who talent-spots for Munster, but I bet they get paid well.
My wife loves him. How can I resent that? I love him too!
Wish he was still in Munster, a great player and an absolute gentleman.
Thanks CJ for everything..legend
Those are some proper highlights :)
I will one day tell my boy about a great player named CJ. Alles van die beste.
he is an absolute machine if he wants to play for the lions this year he definitely gets the 8 jersey
Anyone remember that time he kicked a cross field kick? Man what an amazing player
Why do you have to make me cry at 5:30 on a Wednesday my dude 😭😭😭
Ireland are going to miss him.
The biggest mistake SA rugby made was letting him go
apparently he was too small. But then Meyer was a complete idiot so no surprise there...
Great as Stander was, SA rugby hasn't missed his qualities. Springboks have so many world class loose forwards
@@Karma-qt4ji meyer was a good coach its just stander's competition at that time was duane and burger but he stil could have taken over from burger
@@werieawesome8530 Sorry, but Meyer was terrible. I think we can all agree that the worst SA coach since readmission was AC, but never overlook the fact that the rot started while Meyer was in charge. First home loss to Argentina, loss to Japan...
I remember the last 10 or so minutes of our SF against the AB's, camped in our own 22 without a single clue of how to get out of there. That epitomised the entire Meyer era... give the ball to Schalk or Willem in the 10 channel and let them run straight into the nearest defender. And then, due his preference for selecting "veterans", he left SA Rugby in absolute tatters when he left. No, he was kak!!
@@Karma-qt4ji he has a better win/loss ratio than most SA coaches (rassie included) the problem was the amount of control he had over his team, remember they heavily leanded into "transformation" when he was in charge
And out of the 11 games he coached agaist the 2011-2015 All Blacks (the best sport side of all time) he had one 3 and came within a score of seven in their 5 losses to that side
Not so shit now........
A man amoust men thanks for the memories CJ
I just love the hit on Toby recently.. awh he will be missed
What a player. He will be missed.
the guy was marked by two players every match post 2016. Savage!
It’s sad how Some SA coaches ruin players’ careers. Some idiot said he’s ‘too small’ to be a springbok
he never carried the ball and didnt make yards , this man was a beast
Nice tribute!
The game against England was the best way to go out.
My god what a player,he is like a bulldozer, wish him all the best for the future, big lost to ireland,we sulute him, thank u for the great memories🏈🏉🇮🇪
Not the most talented but made that up with pure grit, toughness and work ethic. Seems like a top bloke as well.
Who else loved the way after absolutely demoloshing someone CJ would be seen smirking 😂😂 what a legend 😂
Unstoppable.... Even tho he's stopping completely
He is a top,top bloke good luck from a Welshman.
what a beast
Miss you in Munster. We f**king love you here and always will.
What a great player he is. I’m pretty sure that the Sprinboks are quite happy he won’t be part of the British & Irish Lions tour.
an effective unit
Absolute tank
He will be sorely missed
I think he irreplaceable
legend!
One of the best , why o why did he leave?
If your able to, you need to edit in some of the final interview he had after beating the English, absolute heart wrenching stuff from Irelands greatest project player
Thank you
The JCB of Munster and Irish rugby, no job too big, this man had the power, skill and dexterity to deal with it!!
What a gent! Will be well missed I'm sure! Return if Possible!
Class act. Enjoy the farm boet.
Top level player
That first try? Strewth! Speed
Fantastic player but do wish they used him at 6 with Conan at 8 more. England performance for example.
Oakdale bul 💙🔥
What a player 🤭
CJ Stander. King of the Collision
In a ireland va italy matchday programme i had when i was at the game(same game he scored a hat trick in) it said his favourite song was wrecking ball... describes him pretty well!
only ever seen him as part of the ireland setup. Immense player
Goodbye legend
Shame we couldn't of packed the stadium and given him a proper thank you and send off in the green!
Farewell our Green BOK .. thank you
BEAST|!
CJ Stunder the legend
He might yet reappear playing for the Bulls in SA. He wanted to go home to be with his family, but he's physically capable of another few years of rugby. SA rugby would be mad not approach him with some sort of offer
Beast! A shame he wasn't picked for bok rugby
Loss for sa Ireland and munsters gain
0:31 look at the eyes, scary stuff
Definitely out to prove a point there
Oak, Lekke man & ultimate boete for munster & Ireland. Have a great life.
0:45 o Mahoney 😂
God bless everyone
SA made a huge mistake not allowing him to play for them
does anyone know the song?
He is indeed a Beast!!! No argument. But take him and multiple x100 and what you get is Pierre Spies!!!😏😏😏
Tank 🐐🐐🐐
Harder you play the younger you retire?
He's not retiring cause of injury its cause he wants his daughter to be raised back in rsa with his family
He turns 31 next month. Hardly a youngster.
@@Karma-qt4ji never said he was a youngster, I was just implying that the harder you play the tougher the recovery on the body. If it wasn't for family, like the other comment informed myself he could have another couple of years in him.
@@cormacdoyle2433 All the best to the man.
@@TheXCHeZ defintetly another few years only peaking now. Quite sad he gone
Who is it he bounced at 0.52?
Elton Jantjies I believe
