In 1964 the Surgeon General issued a report on the health effects of cigarette smoking. In 1966 the first health warnings started to appear on cigarette packs.

I was prepared to laugh, but that was the most effective vid to promote nicotine abstinence I’ve seen in 50 years!

I was born in 1953 and at no time have I ever had even the slightest desire to smoke. It has always been the most disgusting habit that I could imagine having. I can't even stand to be around smokers because of the awful smell. Even when they are not smoking their hair, breath, and clothes just wreak of the stench. Their cars stink. Their houses stink. If you stay around a smoker for very long, your clothes will also stink. I never dated any woman that smoked no matter how attractive. Since both of my parents smoked this made me hate it even more. Both died from smoking-related disease.

Ditto. It freaked me out as a kid, in college, the army and other workplaces. I am so glad it became unfashionable which is what it took to reduce smoking.

When i was a kid the only adut i knew that didnt smoke was my grandmother and I thought it odd that she didnt. I remember family gatherings like thanksgiving or christmas with all my adult relatives smoking constantly and therebeing a blue haze filling the room

I was the only nonsmoker in my family. I never thought it looked a ything except stupid. Over the years several women got mad at me because I wouldn't date a smoker. The more peer pressure they used on me, the more I resisted it. The same goes for drugs and alcohol. Never wanted to do any of that either.
The cringiest part of this video was when he mentioned pregnant women smoking.
This is a video that should still be shown in schools today. It just needs a little updating and color.

So where's the video filmed right after this one where the announcer yells a them for ten minutes about the ill effects of littering?

In elementary school, they brought in 2 sets of real lungs in see-through glass cases. Smoker's lung = black. Non-smoker's lung = pink/white. That was enough to convince me to never take up smoking!

Smoking is not a habit! It is an addiction , nicotine is a drug quitting was the hardest thing i ever did but if not for the GRACE OF GOD I would have continued and died from lung disease 20 years in sep I haven't smoked

I like how they threw up in a, "if you smoke, you won't get able to get it up". They should've made that their main point haha.

I'm not going to defend smoking but I've already outlived 2 of my Grandparents who died in their 60's and it wasn't the smoking that killed them. It was the alcohol.
Beyond that, my mom didn't smoke but her mom did they both made it to 88. And finally, I can appreciate my doctors' proactive approach to checking for smoking damage but they have never gotten back to me about the x-rays or scans with even a guilt tripping caution.
So, simply, my experience is influencing my actions and those have been mixed. My problem with "vaping" not only include the ones recently discovered but I don't know when to quit. That is, over the years, a "smoke break" is exactly that. Used coffee out new coffee in and a smoke. Never late back to work. I tried vaping but I felt much better going back to tobacco.

Sixty years later, some still haven't gotten the message, or more accurately, they refused delivery.

@Mighty Mouse Girlfriend True. It turns out that smoking is actually very healthy, just like the endorsements from doctors and athletes testified.
