I got them both. I use the John boat for trapping/hunting and fishing on creeks and rivers . My plastic boat i use fishing and frogging. They both work good for anything.

Check out that green grass!!! Lol you’re just good at EVERYTHING!! But related to the video- I sure do love that plastic boat. We’ve crammed all 5 of us in that thing and it’s great!!!

I've had both at different times in my life and I usually fish creeks and small rivers. I had to have the aluminum boat repaired several times due to submerged objects. Never had to repair the plastic boats but the limited engine size was a issue during high flow.

Yes. I’ve done some cool mods. Only using a 40 pound trolling motor. Maybe I’ll upgrade to a small outboard. What do think I can put on it realistically. 6 hp. ?

Do you take it in any lakes?

If your going to mount a fish finder or any kind of hardware the aluminum is much more solid. Also water seems to sep between the plastic on the boat and it's hard to get it out and makes the boat very heavy.

    🤔 hmmmmmmm,
they both look decent to me.
as long as they float and do their job Plus help you catch fish right, does it really matter which one is better.
I don't know nothing about boats like that.
I just fish from the shoreline and that's it
Great video and great information and tips here, most definitely will help out a lot of people.

They both have their pros and cons shawn. They both get ya on the fish but I have noticed little things with them plus one is about half the price of the other. Thanks bud

You won't 30yr old plastic boats but you can find 50 plus year aluminum every day

That could be because these type of plastic boats have not been able for that long. But I agree the Aluminium boat should last for ever as long as it doesn't corrode.

Stop pulling your hair out. Some Cuban refugees escape into the Gulf on less seaworty boats than these so, either one of these will be good in small lakes, ponds, streams etc, but I choose the plastic one. Thank u sir!

Aluminum is better, and it isn't even close. 🧐 If you don't believe me, toss your plastic boat on the ground beside my aluminum boat for 15 years in the deep south and then choose between them.

@@TBassFactory Plastic does have a place, and right now it is to fill the void caused by the recent unavailability of small aluminum boats due to supply chain issues and the crazy high cost of raw aluminum.

    • @ralphcantrell3214

@@Eric-pl1re because with aluminum you can. If I wanted to build a garage just to house a 100 pound, 12’ jon boat I might consider plastic.
