      To Tripple: On the contrary: This is perfect case of "ignorance is bliss." This will serve to promote irascibility more expeditiously for the connisseur of both sports -- ironically, with the British babbling detracting from the dignity of the game.
      This is a Monty Python type of scenerio where their material is perfect for retorting, but not for the sports purists.

      @@fluffynoses I'm a huge baseball fan too. Your sports are really good with great plays etc, but why are your sports so.......short? I went to the baseball here in Sydney Australia in 2014 and while I loved it, I was disappointed. I just wish it went longer so I'd have more of it to enjoy. Maybe that's why they play so many games each season. The all too brief time they're at a game is never really enough so you want to come back again. The strength of test cricket is that each day is an actual day whereas some movies are longer than some baseball games. I'd need to catch a whole Home Series before I could say I'd seen enough. Two and a half hours? Hmm. I'd really want more.

    I'm actually a big baseball fan but I do love watching cricket too. It's not as big in Canada for some odd reason but with so many people coming in from the Caribbean and South Asia, it's starting to pick up. I thought this video was pretty funny. I was just playing baseball with a few buddies a few hours ago and there was a cricket match going on next to our field. It was interesting exchanging knowledge with the cricketers. They seemed to be genuinely interested in baseball as well.

    So is it as hard for Europeans to understand baseball as it is for Americans to understand cricket?

    • @AlexOjideagu2
      @AlexOjideagu2 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      For the average joe yes. Although Baseball is actually a British game based on Rounders which most British kids play at school at some point.

      I think it's more accurate to say that Baseball is an American game based on rounders. Like American football is an American game based on rugby.

      The first written account of Rounders in 1774 in England calls it BASE-BALL

      +Richard Sharp It's completely true though. I know it because I'm not American. There's a reason why these games are not popular anywhere outside the US, they're just too damn complicated.

It is not hard to know the rules unless you are a complete jackass who dont care to know the game. You think americans are the only country that lnows baseball? You are dead wrong

    I can never watch baseball purely based on the fact that fielders wear them stupid gloves! It takes away the whole skill of catching

    • @hbkdfw
      @hbkdfw 11 ปีที่แล้ว +51

      You do realize a line-drive can reach up to 150 mph right? Most MLB players probably have the skill to catch it without the glove, it would just be the last time they ever did because every bone in their hand would be shattered. Get a clue.

    • @teehee1604
      @teehee1604 11 ปีที่แล้ว +42

      Really, and cricket balls DON'T travel that quickly?! Yet, the only player on a fielding team in cricket who can wear gloves is the wicketkeeper, who can sometimes take around 400 catches a day! There are things called technique and skill, which is what sport should be about, there shouldn't be all these performance aids to take away from that!

    • @iagoaspas4052
      @iagoaspas4052 11 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      hbkdfw cricket balls are harder than baseballs and they can still be hit close to those speeds. gloves take away all skill involved. btw i dont know any cricketers who've broken their hand catching so it obviously wouldnt 'shatter every bone', maybe just break your finger about 1 in 500 times

    • @Deadralord777
      @Deadralord777 10 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      It is actually a skill to catch it in a glove because if you don't close it, the ball falls out and if you close it to early it will hit off the glove
