Good to see you guys out enjoying yourselves again! I've luckily got my wife into MTB recently and she's moving up from her crap box store bike to a real hardtail this weekend. Isn't it great getting to share the sport like that? What it's all about man. Great video.
Love Moore Creek, so much variety. I live between Moore Creek and Skyline Wilderness and I feel so lucky that I can ride both a couple of times a week. I'm 70 years old now so I'm riding a bit more carefully these days. Thanks for the great videos! (Sara stole a french fry!)
Good to see you guys out and riding again. That trail is nice! We haven't been riding in a while as well due to the pandemic but also rainy weather... We can't to get back out here for sure. We have a 4K road trip coming up in July hopefully. Have fun guys and be safe! Hope to see you guys on the road.
Good to see you back out there, that was a good trail. I’ll put Napa on the list and get up there for a ride later in the year, if it all calms down. Thanks again always enjoy your videos!!
Hi Brian, I appreciate your frustration with the quarantine as we all are. It is a more complicated issue than you are presenting though. If we didn’t shut things down hospitals would be overwhelmed (20% who contract the virus will need significant care to survive) and people with complications like smokers wouldn’t be the only ones at risk, otherwise healthy people would die from normal treatable conditions due to not getting care, and at risk people staying home would not prevent this. We (the US) by far have the most cases and deaths. I respect your opinion but as an influencer I believe we need to be mindful about how we talk about this and listen to the healthcare experts on this.
Pretty sure he didn't say that things shouldn't be shut down. In fact, he said it was good that people stayed home and thus the hospitals were able to deal with anyone that did get sick.
Kevin O'Leary he said the cure cannot be worse than the virus, that people need to start going, that we’ve had enough time...he didn’t suggest what has happened was wrong but that it is time to start opening up. This is a mistake, is what I’m saying. Misunderstanding the seriousness of this virus is a mistake.
Yea Catacula was a fun one when we were up there last! Pretty rad trail! Cant wait to go back and check it out when it's done and hopefully a little more packed in... :)
I know of more people (mostly through others) who've become ill and wear masks (and even gloves) faithfully than people who don't, and haven't, but exercise common sense levels of caution otherwise. I believe masks and gloves often instill false confidence, causing people to actually be less careful than they would otherwise be. They touch more things and stand more closely to others and, often, they don't even know how to handle/wear/remove those items correctly.
Great Job B ! Keep up the good work bro. and Your'e pretty much spot on with your takes on this odd situation that we're all in, worst case scenario this will spark thought. Stay safe and keep it pushing !
Living in north central Texas, I would give anything to have “XC” trails like that! On our local trails we pedal pretty much non stop with descents that might last 10 or 15 SECONDS at most.
I appreciate your not wanting to taunt fans with your exceptional videos who can't get out and ride themselves. Much respect! We got lucky here in the Rockies that the main things not closed were the trails and parks, lol. So everyone's been out on the trails for weeks or months here, including me ;) I did pick up a DJI Action and did some test content. We'll see if it ever sees the internet light of day.
Had to subscribe! Somehow I've never seen your channel until now but I live and ride in Marin a lot and its super cool to see you making videos around places I know!
Your rant was neither self righteous, nor condescending. I personally tend to agree with you, and appreciate your ability to articulate a thoughtful response to what is truly a complicated situation. If I see you on the trail you can bet I’ll cover my face on the approach. 👍🤘
Great video. Its nice to get out. I never wear my mask in the trails though. I feel like a jerk lol. I like that Sara is very understanding when it comes to listening to pointers from Bri Bri.
Thanks for the Weed Patch Mtn video a few weeks back. Been wanting to hit it for awhile and did so last week with my 12yo - it's a fantastic backcountry ride!
Cutest couple. Thanks for being considerate out there.i started riding because of you. I've discovered some amazing trails out here in the Tillamook forest, Oregon. No one out there.
BK, you sharing your thoughts rather than banal platitudes is critical. Being authentic means we will believe in you, rather than questioning if you are pedalling some corporate BS line. OK, back to biking, great to see you doing some XC. Makes you appreciate the "jank" all the more. be safe all
GREAT video and THANK YOU for reminding everyone to wear a mask! I bought some "sleeve" style masks (from local Cali outdoor tour company) ready to use on my next ride! Mountain bikers are typically helpful towards each other (evident when someone gets a flat) so we need to all continue to help keep each other safe and healthy!
Thanks for mentioning the primary purpose of a cloth mask, which is to protect people around the mask-wearer, not the wearer. Of course if we all wear masks, we're all protecting each other. Nice trail!!
There is a ton of trail building going on here. Cuyuna built some jump lines that's pretty fun. Couple new systems getting built in the northern half of the state. Some new expansions getting done locally too.
Hey Brian, new to your channel and two mountain biking been watching your videos very inspiring. thanks for putting in the time and keep up the great work be safe.
Things getting back to the new noraml here in NZ, trails all open, allowed to travel anywhere. If everyone does their bit you'll get there soon and that first proper ride will be so good. Exploring local trails can be loads of fun, I founds some amazing stuff just round there corner during lockdown, exploring your neigbourhood can be best thing to come out of all of this.
Morning rides are probably the right call more often than not - limit exposure as much as possible - wear an easy to pull up mask - be patient and give room for passing hikers
Taking off for a couple weeks on Friday to film and ride for a couple weeks and have never needed it more! Might post some to my channel! Thanks for the consistent content Brian!
Reminder to do a warmup run if its your first time riding with a mask as it will take a bit more effort and you need to know if you wont feel extra tired or out of breath before going on the long trip. Be safe!
Hi Brian, thanks for the content. Just wanted to offer an alternate opinion if you view these comments. The lockdowns are not really just to keep the numbers low, they also protect the doctors and nurses dealing with this. Appreciate you understand this but some can’t see outside their own bubble. Stay safe 👍
6:58 - Man, Brian, you get ALL The beautiful lake views! I think of all the MTB channels I watch, yours has the best shots of beautiful lakes and scenery. I'll attribute that to your superior cinematography skills (ha ha!) 14:46 - I feel like I would have had to worry about bailing safely at this point. Watching this had me worried you were going to slide out! That bag is only $70.00?! That's a great value. I am very seriously considering buying one. Thanks for the heads up. Stay upright and keep the rubber side down!
Sweet! Thanks for the beta. My buddies have been choosing to ride there over Skyline and Rockville. I wanted to see exactly what it’s like. Looks like a good place to take the singlespeed and link it up with Moore Creek for a nice xc ride.
Really appreciate you pointing out how the masks aren't for protecting yourself, they're for protecting other people in the off chance that you're either sick or asymptomatic.
Great flow trail. that’s got to be relieving for sure. Being in Northern California I see a lot of that type of tail. fortunately I’m a essential worker, unfortunate part is I haven’t been out much.
Sarah's stealing your fries!!!! Kidding aside, it's good to see you out and about again. Honestly getting back out on the smaller, less challenging single tracks is a great way to get back at it:)
I was there on Saturday! You missed a pretty fun section of Catacula, you’re right if you start from the fire road, they cut in some doubles. Next time! Keep up your vids man!
I appreciate you wearing a mask but I don't think it's necessary out on the trail. I do try to hold my breath when I'm passing through someone's jetstream of expiration, but even that is overkill. I wear a mask in the store but not outdoors
Unbelievable that not everyone understands that wearing a mask and keeping a little distance could mean the difference between being able to enjoy the outdoor or having to stay at home! Same issue here in the Netherlands! But keep it up man!
I know how you feel, some places in Ontario, Canada are just pure rock... especially the places with elevation... And I still haven't upgraded from my 5 year old Walmart bike lmao
Right!!! Live outside of Reno/Tahoe and thought that he was riding paved singletrack for a while there! Was thinking to myself at one point, this looks like my beach cruiser tires would have perfect grip here!! No knobbies needed!! But I know Brian loves his chunk, sometimes XC flow is still fun!
@@denismacfarlane255 lol yep, theres actually a decent amount when you get to the Canadian shield. But in the lower portion, other than some small hills, there are the escartments of when the great lakes used to be
Hey Brian. I’m a local to Moore creek. I would agree it’s very XC based, but it has its perks, and I’m a biker oriented towards Oat Hill. Anyways, if you do this ride agian, don’t do it the way you did or the way you put it in the video overview. The ideal way to ride the Hennessy unit is ➡️ chilles creek trail ➡️ shoreline trail ➡️ Old mans beard cut off ➡️ Conn peak ➡️ Alta Hennessy ➡️ Catacutla ➡️ Sam the eagle ➡️ Old mans beard ➡️ Conn peak ➡️ Whisky ridge ➡️ chilles creek. The way you did it is fine but I’m sure there was major suffering going up whiskey ride and the fire road. Can’t wait to see more videos in in Napa County!
Kennedy, I am so jealous of you. This side of the world we are in lockdown, no morning rides for me :( Enjoy and stay cautious. People are still not serious about the pandemic, they still think they are immune to being infected because they either think that there aren't cases around them so they are safe and they still are social distancing. Which is such a wrong way to look at this, anyway hope people understand the gravity of this and understand this is going to be the way of our life for few months if not a year. You two take care and keep your hands clean.
I know it's just an overpriced t-shirt sleeve, but I've always ridden with Buffs in the colder months and they make a great athletic mask. Thanks for doing your part; there are very few folks wearing face coverage on the trails out here in Eastern PA.
Hello Brian, great ride and video. I do not know if we have flattened the curve, there is not that much testing here in SoCal. The data is not in. Be careful out there!!!!
I wouldn't say *everything is "built" for us to enjoy.. a lot of wilderness areas exist not just for humans, but all the creatures that live there too. You CAN go into wilderness - no problem. Part of the issue with bikes in wilderness areas is that access becomes too easy.. and thus foot traffic goes up, and suddenly the human presence in areas skyrockets. Hey Bryan , I've got a question about your new bike. How is the coil shock on the Ripmo? Does it bob while climbing? Does the bike feel as zippy un climbs as the V1?
Love the way you're embedding the names of the trails, along with the rating icon, into the footage. Thank you for that.
Man! That's a beautiful and chill trail! :) Keep safe guys!
Brian is so diplomatic with his riding advice.
good to see you back on the trails and making vids. Make sure you guys stay safe.
Enjoyed the video...Glad to see you out on the trails again. You are one of the reasons why I am getting into cycling. Keep the adventure going.
Watching in 2021 OOOOFFFFFF sorry Brian didn’t end that soon.

Finally brian posted a vid
My brain: time for sleep, i'm too tiered to do anything
Also my brain: oh a new ride video *click*

Good point. Safety third as what they say.
I know of more people... mostly through others- enough said!
My son and I just rode this park this weekend, Thankx to BKXC for showing us it. Great ride definitely will be going back.

Great video, enjoyed very much. Sarah seems to be quite a mtn biker, she seems to keep it rolling really well.
have a great week and stay safe.
Thank for the video great to see the happy couple back on the trail again stay safe and I'm voting for the fall wedding

Sam the eagle is incredibly similar to a trail in Florida called the Hammock. Riding through those oak trees in a field like that is just amazing.
Nice park! Trail building is growing enormously here in Brazil aswell! The "magic" is happening!
Really enjoyed the video, it looks like beautiful country over there and great trails. Great to see you outside riding.
Let life begin again!
Another great video. Thanks Brian
Keep safe
Great to see content from you again Brian. Been missing your rides. Cool to see Sarah on the channel too!!!
Glad to see you out and about.
Thanks for mentioning the primary purpose of a cloth mask, which is to protect people around the mask-wearer, not the wearer. Of course if we all wear masks, we're all protecting each other. Nice trail!!
Good to see you enjoyed hanging out with my neighbor downstairs - Moore Creek Park.
Finally an upload!
Thanks very much for your comment about the mask. 100% agree with you, it is very simple to keep a mask with you and flip it up when you see someone.
There is a ton of trail building going on here. Cuyuna built some jump lines that's pretty fun. Couple new systems getting built in the northern half of the state. Some new expansions getting done locally too.
So glad to see you out riding again. Good Times.

Great vid. Watchung this vid felt like watching the traditional bkxc vid of old. Maybe its the climbing. Maybe it's thet trailguiding.
Can't wait to watch a video with no COVID19 talk.

I grew up in Vallejo✌ Went to Vintage high school in Napa. Forgot how beautiful it is. Good video👍
I never thank you for all this rides that we have together!!! You are very nice Human!!!!! Hi from Athens Greece

Highly recommend to get the kit bag Sarah has. Our family has them and we love them. Once you get one you will never go back to your shopping bag 😉
Great video. Thanks for making feel peace this day! 🙏🏼 so much going on in the today’s days. . .
Good to finally see you get out, and with your girl friend, great vid :)

As I understood it, the aren't wearing masks while riding, they are wearing them when they are in unavoidable close proximity with other trail users.
Heading out there this weekend . Tahoe reservations cancelled for June . Not happy about that was looking forward to riding the Corral trail .
Unbelievable that not everyone understands that wearing a mask and keeping a little distance could mean the difference between being able to enjoy the outdoor or having to stay at home! Same issue here in the Netherlands! But keep it up man!

New legend biking duo just born? Give her camera, give her mic, that will be big step forward ... And enjoy biking in this difficult time!
Love the video, love the message, thanks Brian and Sarah! (I'm rocking the shirt sleeve mask as well when I ride)

Good info, dude! Love hearing a different idea of a route.
Nice..have to explore this one. In a week or so. Gotts is 🤘
Thank you for setting a good example for caring by wearing a mask.
It’s called risk assessment. We need to individually evaluate are own risk and let others evaluate theirs. It’s simple. Love to rant, Nice vid👍
Sometimes people can't assess the risk properly though
I love trails that flow like this. Really nice.
Beautiful country and trail.
Enjoyed this video very much. Great job keep up,stay safe.
Dakine makes an AWESOME bike gear duffel. I'll never not have one of these.
Surprised the guy with his dog didn't run when he saw you coming. I mountain biked a few weeks ago and the hikers scattered like I had the plague.
well i guess thats a good thing
I admire you even more! The truth is out there! A permanent shut down is unreasonable!
Safety first! I would love to ride this trail
Really hope you can continue the 50 state shred! But safety first for sure.
Kennedy, I am so jealous of you. This side of the world we are in lockdown, no morning rides for me :(

G'day Brian, good to hear your review on AXS. I'm moving to AXS with my current bike build.
Kool trails and great video!!!
I know it's just an overpriced t-shirt sleeve, but I've always ridden with Buffs in the colder months and they make a great athletic mask. Thanks for doing your part; there are very few folks wearing face coverage on the trails out here in Eastern PA.
New Video 👍👍👍
Keep up the good work!
good to see you on the trail!
Hello Brian, great ride and video. I do not know if we have flattened the curve, there is not that much testing here in SoCal. The data is not in. Be careful out there!!!!
Great video Brian, those trails look Stella bro
Other side of the top of the trail looked cool with those big berms. Maybe another day.

Hey Bryan , I've got a question about your new bike. How is the coil shock on the Ripmo? Does it bob while climbing? Does the bike feel as zippy un climbs as the V1?
