  • How To Restart Windows 10 In Safe Mode
In this quick tech how-to video, I’m going to show you how to restart Windows 10 in Safe Mode.
There are times when your Windows 10 computer is acting up, or something is just off, and the only way to troubleshoot the issue is to enter into safe mode. In previous Windows releases, you would get into Safe Mode as you booted your machine. Now with Windows 10, there are a few different ways, and a couple of them are while you’re still in the Windows operating system.
If you can’t get into Windows at all, try turning on your machine, and as it starts booting, hold the power button causing a manual power down. Do this a few times and your machine should automatically go into a recovery mode where you can choose safe mode there.
In this video though, I’m going to show you an easy way that I use all the time to reboot into safe mode in order to troubleshoot Windows problems.
To get started, click in the search bar and type Run. You can also use the Windows shortcut, Windows key plus r. This will bring up the Run dialogue.
Next, type MSConfig and hit OK.
Inside of MSConfig, you’ll find things like your default startup selection, types of boot options, services, a quick link to the recently moved startup items, and finally shortcuts for different Windows tools.
Select the Boot tab, and in the boot options, you’ll see Safe Mode. Check the box and then select underneath the type of safe mode you want to enter into. For instance, a common one would be Safe Mode with Networking. Hit Apply, and then OK.
You’ll then be presented with a system configuration prompt. Choose restart to restart into safe mode.
Your computer will then reboot into safe mode with networking.
When you’re finished troubleshooting the issue that you had, you can change your boot mode back to normal again by pressing Windows key plus r, type MSConfig, and back in here go to the boot tab and uncheck Safe Mode. Hit apply and OK, and you’ll be prompted again to restart.
And that’s how you restart Windows 10 into Safe Mode.

Glad it helped. Yeah I don't know why they changed this, or maybe didn't just add the option onto how we've always done it.
