Yes. On a rig/platform all 3 production, drilling, mechanical will b working together. Mechanical: maintenance (mediocre) Drilling: for drilling well (very tough) Production: to get to know about well ability to draw crude oil.

It's not like that you've to serve on Offshore only if ur initial joining is at offshore. But it's become competitive to get transfer from offshore to onshore/office job. One of my just senior got transfer after serving 8 years but many of employe r still working even after 25 years.

From my personal experience, if you're already posted in offshore, you just have to do LASIK without any reason/argument. There is no rule furnished in the recruitment advertisement, and the internal rules state that ideally the person should be posted for base duty until his/her eyes are suitable for offshore duty. But, as this organisation is being run by autocracy, no one cares and you've to undergo surgery at your own cost and risk.

In one month: 14 days on offshore, 14 days at home or whenever u want to go. Ticket will b given for ur hometown only. Though u can roam anywhere. For time pass : 1 TV is there but mostly aged people remain stick to news & IND vs PAK debate. Otherwise u will sleep. A small gym will b there but that would b having highly rusted equipment as no maintaince. Once purschesrd remain there for lifelong. U have to do repair them by ur own. Nothing else for time pass. Just sleep or day dream.
Not all ppl know swimming. Most of them don't know swimming. Doctors r given s room as medical room for treatment & one single compartment for staying.
Single doctor at a rig. Single room for medical officer/doctor. Special permission require for ipad laptop. Mobile with camera not allowed. Temp food normal.

Yes !! Danger is another thing but offshore employees have to stay 14 days altogether on rig/platform only. No daily basis up-down. You have to stay inbetween the sea on rig only. That's why 14 days off is much needed.

My father also did 33 years field job in ongc . Almost 10 years in offshore region like Mumbai. But he loves his job. Actually my father told me that young recruits want comfort in job. In early years drilling engg worked as a labour whether u r from iit or nit. In my opinion no body will give you comfortable job. If u r an ias u have to work for people for day and night . Greater jobs comes with greater responsibility.

I just told avg monthly salary but U r talking about CTC that's total cost to company in a year. There r few allowance which r provided quarterly,yearly,once in 2 year so If u add all those with furniture allowance It all sum up around 15-16LPA. I'll saperate vidoe on all kind of allowance that Ongc pay from which u can understand the things in better way.

Yes. U will get all facilities same as onshore employee including CL+EL. those 14 days are just extra entitlement for offshore employee.

They do give the time period to go for treatment & then come for medical tests again. 2-3 month's period u can ask for
