I loved yugioh but this game creeped me out as a kid. I can’t be the only one.
Why? Because of the black background of the battle ground? I used to be scared of the sound you hear when you deck is not complete and the game kicks you off from the story mode and leads you to the main menu

This game is god tier. Id love to do a play through without doing a cheat for the cards. I remember this game was IMPOSSIBLY difficult, because your cards were ass, and your opponent had boss monsters LOL .

The game isn't impossibly difficult, just takes compiling a list of the good fusions you can make and so, so much freaking patience. You keep grinding against the duelists that can give you the best cards in the game and the drop rates for them are extremely small. So what you end up usually doing is instead compiling a deck of twin headed thunder dragon fusion pieces and equip cards.
Well to be fair, the game cheated all the time. I didn't realize it until I was building a retroPie system and loaded up Forbidden Memories for old times' sake and I realized the AI was cheating right in front of me, ignoring summon requirements and just putting any card down they wanted.
No wonder it was so hard back then..
I never understood the fusing of the cards till this day 😅😂 still baffles me. Always got them wrong and I kept losing 🤣
The not fusing of red eyes and summoned skull hurt my soul
I had this gem on my old PS1 when I was little, the first time I played it I got frustrated. Thanks for reminding me what this game was like, bro.

Man I recall getting so far in this game without resorting to getting cards via the card trader system. Just relied on my summoning smarts to unleash Twin Headed Thunder Dragon and steamroll as much as I can... xD (I got stuck to that Mountain Guardian dude back in the day...)
I remember you have to put the card numbers from your real cards in the game to access and put them into your game.
Then you have to spend an unreasonable amount of star chips to buy them, me and my brother grinded for weeks to unlock a magic card.

OH YES!!!!... its the untold story of Pharaoh Atem in his time never added in the anime just PS Exclusive....and if you played the GBC Yugioh Dark Duel Stories you are already Familiar with these characters and bosses... specially the FINAL BOSS... Forbidden Memories and Dark Duel Stories Tied Up Final Boss....some BGM can be heard also in the GBC and others are in Duel Monsters 4 Battle City for the GBC....Thanks for this sir!!!! >SKULL SERVANT
Anybody else write the card fuses down in a notebook?
For those of us who remember playing this game as kids, this is not accurate gameplay. This guy has cheated to have the best cards in his deck. It might soothe your soul a tiny bit to see someone finally beating the game. But it ain't real. As someone who's beaten this game 3 times now it has taken hours and hours AND HOURS to beat how the game was made. There's no shortcuts. It's brutal. But I do love this game so I will probably come back in another 2 years to do it again and sacrifice many hours to do it.

I remember this game very fondly, Do you have any idea hard it was to play this without a PS1 memory card? Starting all over from the beginning, but still a good Yu-Gi-Oh game nonetheless.

Damn, you play like a cheater too. You could have had the guy in your 2nd turn if you just put the plant with the dragon scroll first to get the B Dragon Jungle King, and then added the electric to get the Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon. You should definitely trying playing this game sometime. It is actually good when you get into it, instead of just getting randomly overpowered cards and stumbling into a guaranteed victory.

Love the condensing of this game into short 2 and a half hour walkthrough. The game really is short and simple its just the grinding mechanic for good cards that will eat up like 95% of the game.

He used cheat-engine. You cannot win blue eyes white dragon unless it's from Seto 3rd after you've beaten the game. And gaia the dragon champion does not exist as a stand-alone card unless you use cheat-engine.

iirc when you pressed square to attack instead of x it would go into those animations for certain monsters, such as red eyes, blue eyes etc. So you do remember correctly c:

I still have this game but for the life of me could never understand how to play it even 20 years later, I remember just randomly trying to mash cards together hoping something would fuse then getting frustrated nothing would happen then put the game away for a few months then come back and repeat the process.

How do you have all these overpowered cards? Is it from an old file? A cheat code? What?
He’s definitely cheating. Overpowered cards is one thing, he could of transferred them from a different memory card. But he’s using cards u cant even get. Only way to get Summoned Skull is 999999 star chips, which realistically nobody is ever going to get. So yeah, definitely cheating.

@@shaykitoffe6411 yep, Forbidden Memorys is one of my favorite ps1 games too. The other games u mentioned are pretty fun too. Except for Crash Team Racing, I haven’t played that one. Ill look into it though and may end up getting it if it looks fun

How to fight Seto 2nd?
A japanese pocket station was used to obtain the following(cannot be done with American playstation): Gaia the Dragon Champion,Cosmo Queen,Sengenjin,Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon,BOTH Great Moths or Gate Guardian...not possible WITHOUT one. I owned this game when it came out 21 years ago(STILL couldn't get ANY of the missing cards...got up to 668 cards of 722 total.).
i only played this game as a kid and never realized how easy it is..

Given that no one has mentioned this, the story seems similar to when Yugi was facing Marik Ishtar for the Millennium items, only Kaiba has the Millennium Rod and the wizards takes Marik's role

he used something like game shark or a modded iso to obtain these powerful cards. Ultimate Great Moth which he has later in the game is literally impossible to obtain without cheating, or owning the original Japanese version and a poketstation.

I remeber coding some exploder codes for this game to get exodia in your starting hand but there was one opponent where the game still decided to give you the lose even so you had completet exodia first turn xD

I beat this game without cheats and walkthrough. Just copied the enemy using fuses?, or just tested which one fuses dont remember. I remember enemy can summon the exact card without fusing lol
