Thank you for brilliant advice delivered in a very informative, kind and caring manner. Many doctors on TH-cam talking over their patients, complaining about them really and stating the obvious that anyone looking for help has already tried. It seems they assume persons with bladder issues are complete idiots. I learned more in 5 minutes with your videos than i have in months of seeking medical advice following kidney stones leading to bladder issues. They pass you around like a fire drill in a clown car charging hundreds of dollars to be unhelpful and often quite rude, leaving you in misery with no resolution (USA based). It seemed everything i loved - coffee, tomatoes etc were out, but also what is good for the kidneys, is bad for the bladder and vice versa. You really helped to clear up the best options so that life isn't totally unbearable while this conditions resolves (praying).
Thank you so much Michelle ! Crystal light has been a huge cause of my urinary retention issues and your videos helped me figure out what the doctors could not ! Much love ❤️
For any viewers who drink one cup coffee beware I finally found out why my bladder was overactive until I stopped drinking coffee what a world of difference.my doctor was going to send me to urologist.
Oh wow I didn't know there was low acid decaf coffee. Coffee irritates my bladder terribly. I have been limiting my coffee intake to about one Cup a week as a treat. I usually make it a weekend treat kind of thing and I drink decaf. I had no clue there is low acid. I will get some and try it. And the white chocolate, that is great to know too. I love chocolate and that is something I've been avoiding too. I am not a regular drinker of alcohol so that's not too much of an issue for me but I do like wine occasionally and luckily I actually get a white wine and it is riesling. So that's cool. Thank you so much for your sharing your knowledge and helping.
@Artisheaven65 I’m so glad to read that you got some useful tips from this. By the way, darker coffee beans have less acid too, it’s a helpful way of knowing when buying whole beans to grind 🙏
@Healthy Happy Hooray wonderful! Thank you for your lovely comment. I'm really so glad that I've been able to help and I really do appreciate you taking the time to let me know. Wishing you all the best for your future health and happiness 🙏

Can vitamin c consumption on a daily basis (ascorbic acid + citric acid) cause bladder issues? I have been consuming one pouch of EmergenC orange flavor due to the virus stuff and I couple of days ago o started noticing a massive increase in urination or desire to urinate. I started thinking what is the one thing in my routine that has changed and it's that plus.a bunch of.other supplement I'm in taking daily. Could that be it?! Then, miraculously I get this video. Is Xylitol (Birch Tree Extract) ok? Can’t find my bladder irritant, don’t have the red foods/drinks you mention, just 2/3 cups decaf tea and coffee with 2ltrs plain water spread through the day/eve. Any thoughts please?
Overactive bladder is a new condition for me at age 64. Ms. Kenway's "Overactive Bladder Diet - Key Foods to AVOID with Urgency" was my first peek into its potential causes. I was surprised that this list of foods to choose included only ersatz substitutes for the foods to avoid. I was expecting that there would be some alkaline foods that could be ingested that would neutralize acidic foods. I'm guessing that the reality is more complicated than that, so I'll venture down the internet rabbit hole of food pH.
Do these drinks irritate the bladder long term or for a certain length of time after they are consumed? For example I can drink a glass of wine with chocolate at night and still just go to the bathroom 1 x per night. However a cup of coffee in the morning can set me going and seems to be more of a problem. In other words should I just stop drinking the coffee and wine for good?
Hi Carol different drinks irritate different people - try stopping or cutting back on the coffee and note the effect. Then you can make a decision about whether you also need to cut back on the wine too
@user-ph6ib3bd2l Hello there, water and low caffeine drinks are usually the best drinks for overactive bladder. Lemons, limes, oranges and even tomatoes have high citric acid content. For some people this irritates the inside of the bladder making OAB worse (but not for everyone). It is a matter of trial and error, 4- 5 days no lemon drink and see how your bladder reacts in comparison to when you drink citric acid and ginger in the mornings. You may or may not notice a difference. I hope this information is helpful! 🙏
Urgency has ruined my active life. I can't stay on the pitch & finish a game without having to do it 5 times or so & during sleep ohh! let's forget that. Anyways, what I've learnt is stay away from the darker foods & beverages.

Coffee crisp ,a chocolate and coffee candy bar, was my only way that I would have coffee thankfully I beat my sugar addiction two years ago but I can't remember the last time I indulges in candy bars chocolate I gave up when my allergist made her recommendations eleven years ago never did like wine ...drinking carbonated water or flavoured soda drinks I haven't done that in the last forty years unless desperately thirsty and absolutely no other option . I seldom use fresh tomatoes but I do buy Italian organic passatta imported packaged in glass bottles, no seeds or skins, it is in relatively small ones so I use it more like flavouring rather than using it all for one or two meals. ...can you tell I like writing comments Even if they are just the ramblings of a little old lady who used to be a much larger one . now I shall have to find out how active a batter is to be declared over active🙄🤔😁🥇😘💞💕💞🍀❤️🍀🖖🖖🖖🍀🌟🍀👍👍👍🍀❤️🍀🙋🏼♀️

I have found instant coffee or tea causes more irritation ten from beans or leaves. I think processing for instant makes more acidic;
I use diluted apple cider vinegar for salad dressings. What alternatives are there for salad dressing?
Do you get colourless urine during OAB

Yes it really is. Try saw palmetto supplement for your bladder problem.
Vit C is a huge trigger for me as well as caffinated coffee, and bananas.
Where can I find natural psyllium husk
I have read that it can - and calcium - from tablets and artificial sources but from foods it improves incontinence and strengthens the bladder
Thanks Michelle.....I wanted to know if we use normal sugar and milk in our diet.....will effect in OAB
Thanks for tips This video will helped me out a lot Dr Michelle

Hi, Michelle. What about raw cacao powder as an anti-inflammatory supplement in things like steel-cut oatmeal? Is that red, yellow, or green light?
Good question!
I’m thinking- 🤔 yellow light! 💡
It would be red because raw cacao powder is virtually dark chocolate.
Are carbonated sodas bladder irritants? If so, what is the reasoning behind that?
They're acidic - such a shame!

Would black tea be a good option instead of coffee?
Penelopiad a Decaf tea is the best.
It would probably be a better option than coffee however still cause irritation because of the caffeine so probably decaf black tea would be better.
@@MillennialMountainMamaAnd green tea? That's also caffeinated, right?
I drink tedbush tea . Hopefully that's low acid.
