I don't understand how she can perform this song every night without crying. it's such an emotional one and it makes me cry every single time i listen to it
My great grandmother died when I was young, she too was called Marjorie, loved singing, preforming, she died on taylor's birthday, there was some invisible string that tied me to taylor, that being just one of the strands
I wasn't a fan, but the more I really LISTENED to her lyrics, she's a genius! Some people want to assume she's "just a girl" writing songs for "girls", but she's an amazing ARTIST whose music relates to EVERYBODY. Love her! ❤
omg I had exactly the same experience, I didnt realise how amazing Taylor is until I really listened to the ttpd lyrics, and 'I hate it here' is probably the reason I am a swiftie now - she is a GENIUS
This song caused me to think about parenting in a profound and life changing way. I listen to this song and watch the videos and it drives my feelings about being a teacher.
I totally relate to Taylor Swift as a person💜 My Grandma RIP, always used to say," that from a rose comes a thorn and from a thorn a rose will bloom." I believe it means, hope stands alone, hope exists always, even if we don't believe in it or just can't see it.
I actually wrote a song similar to Taylor Swift, but I changed a little bit of lyrics and I know how Taylor feels because I had a cousin named Destiny and she died in 2017 and I was depressed when I heard the news She told me if anything happened to her then you would become a singer one day and I said OK still to this day I always remember her
0:46 marjorie is definitely my favorite song by evermore. like taylor, i also lost my grandmother when i was young, and i understand the feeling of regret about asking more questions, having appreciated her more, having learned more about her... this is like a song of comfort and solace for me, I think that's why taylor swift is my favorite artist, i love the way she uses her songs to demonstrate feelings so deep that even we can't explain. i love taylor so much. 💗🤍
Every time I think of my great grandmother I think of Taylor and this song Taylor is also so strong to be perform this every night without one tear I love Taylor and how strong and powerful and beautiful and amazing she is. I love Taylor and always will
My grandmother is alive, but she has Alzheimer. It’s heartbreaking cause it feels like she’s already gone. I should have asked her questions, cause now she doesn’t even know her name anymore. My grandmother doesn’t remember about me, but I’ll never forget about her. This song is really special for me.
I'm currently watching her sing the song “Marjorie“ from the Eras Tour film and I wanted to know what this song is about and it's more meaningful to me now. My mom passed away 5 almost 6 years ago now on July 16, 2018 and I wish I could've kept everything just as much as I miss her 😔💜
Good to know there was an old part of Singapore that Marjorie experienced during her stint in the transition from British Colony to independent country. independent
I remember my two year old cousin Edie died of undetected epilepsy on October the 16th 2015 ( or hemiconvulsion hemiplegia epilepsy syndrome which means the other side of the brain is different to the other side and it is a form of epilepsy it is extremely extremely extremely extremely rare so like Edie was one in 2 billion) and according to my mum Edie was quite sassy like if you were helping her get let’s say her t-shirt on she would say your doing it wrong ( not in a mean way though) and she loved her little sister Annie (who was 3 months and a half when Edie died ) and Edie also loved frozen and I watch air crash investigations and it turns out that just 15 days since Edie passed away a Russian passenger jet called metrojet flight 9268 ( that crashed on the 31st of October 2015) exploded over the Sinai Peninsula carrying 224 passengers ( 4 were Ukrainian and 1 Belarusian) I think 217 passengers were Russian and it said that there were 25 children on board the flight as well😢one was called Darina gromova who was only 10 months old when she died on that flight and I googled up the victims and it came up with a girl who I think had blonde hair and she looked like a toddler she and her dad and mum were boarding the fateful flight and the mum took a picture of the girl being carried by her dad I think her name was Anastasia Shein google Told me that and none of the crew or the passengers put the bomb on board it was ISIS ( or the Islamic state of Iraq and Syria ) i like to think that Edie is talking to darina gromova and Anastasia shein in heaven in memory of the victims I will do a moment of silence for them And also my grandma when she was only 55 on 24 February 2014 she passed away from emphysema which in her case it was really bad I was only 9 months old when she passed away and then just 10 months later my grandmas mum passed away (on December the 29th 2014) also from emphysema but in her case it wasn’t really that bad All I want to say is spend more time with your family because one minute they are here and then the next minute they are gone Have a good life❤

Aside from being a good tribute to a dead loved one, it really fits with the toxic femininity ☣♀ theme of Evermore. Using a familial connection to show how toxic not being proactive in making connections makes its harm so much clearer. The narrator forgot she had the power to pursue a connection herself in trying to do the "right thing". She was so focused on following the rules, she forgot how much she loved her grandmother. This narrator is one of the good ones, as she regrets her actions and reforms herself to be better. Later in the generic happy ending for the narrators with redeeming qualities Evermore, she becomes free of the Evermore (nameless background suffering women are born with; does not decay with time), with the help of her Unconscious. I like songs with narrators with redeeming qualities in Evermore. You don't feel repulsed by them, because they are trying to be better.
Taylor swift this is my new favourite song and I found a pic of you in a mcc magazine 😂 and I have it in my nightstand and every morning I wake up I open my night stand and laugh like heh heh heh Taylor swift is in my bedroom and I hit my head on the bed wall thingy if you know what I mean right so after I hit my head I laughed and said oh Taylor why 😂😂😂😂
I don't understand how she can perform this song every night without crying. it's such an emotional one and it makes me cry every single time i listen to it
She has tears in her eyes while singing 💔
Yea I watched the eras tour movie last night and she has little tears in her eyes
I can’t listen to it without crying either. It captures loss in a way that only someone who has felt it could.
Sitting here with a HUGE lump in my throat. 😢
I always sing along but not without crying. Makes me think of my mom 😢

Im so sorry to hear that. May she rest in peace 🪦 🕊️ ✨

This 😢is so sweet. She honored her great grandmother with the song.
@@irenemarano8241 no it was her grandma, not great grandma, but it is still really sweet
My great grandma was named marjorie, she would take us shopping, she just always wanted people to be happy. We loved her so much.
When I heard Marjorie it reminded me of losing my grandma and then to learn it was about her grandma was chilling
my grandmas aunt, who i was close to died recently. her name was also marjorie but she is in heaven with taylor’s marjorie ❤❤
im not typically a tswift fan but this video made me more interested in her song creation process
It is very touching to listen to it knowing that her grandmother meant so much to her
A lot of her music is great and very different from her more popular stuff.
I wasn't a fan, but the more I really LISTENED to her lyrics, she's a genius! Some people want to assume she's "just a girl" writing songs for "girls", but she's an amazing ARTIST whose music relates to EVERYBODY. Love her! ❤

@anna-394.I absolutely love I Hate It Here. ❤️🩹
This song is one of Taylor’s bests! It’s so emotional and relatable!
she’s used that emotion and the tears she holds back while performing every night, she uses it performing this song better and better 💕
I feel my grandmother, ny mother my dad ny brother! Thank you all these emotions❤😢 you lifted my heart Taylor. God bless you
The energy you feel in this song is intense, but beautiful! Taylor's music really touches the soul!

I think she just put into words why I grieve the death of my Bachan so much more than any of the other grandparents and other people I’ve lost.
What does bachan mean
I was sobbing and crying whenever she sang that song because it reminds me of my dead dog😢
That song makes me cry every time.
And now I'm crying. My grandfather died before I was old enough to appreciate him, I didn't realise I needed this song
Lovely video! 🥺I didn't know the backstory behind this song. The detail about her using the old records is so bittersweet. Gonna listen to it now T^T
This song is so hauntingly beguiling; It can shatter your heart, Pulverize your soul, and drowns you in your own tears every time you listen to it.

Opera huh. Well I can now see who taught Miss Swift to "Play to the back row", and she does!
One of the best songs ever written. It just is. Heartbreakingly beautiful 🤍
Her grandma would be so proud of her💔
The reason I love her she’s so real , she’s a real artist she deserved all the success she’s having ❤️🤍, this song really breaking my heart 🥀💔😔😫
I lost my beloved grandmother when I was only 4. Really miss her. Tears me up listening to this song. It reminds me of her 💔

My great grandmother was an opera singer, I never knew her, but she might’ve know Marjorie ❤
I am literally about to cry I didn’t realise that it was her grandma singing in the background it really touched me
Rest In Peace❤
Thanks for making this ❤

Absolutely love this song! Such touching lyrics.
Wow such a beautiful video. I’m tearing up 🥲
I LOVE YOU TAYLOR❤
Your grandma would have been so proud of u!
I lost both my grandmothers in the last year I miss them very much and love them both so much.
I'm currently watching her sing the song “Marjorie“ from the Eras Tour film and I wanted to know what this song is about and it's more meaningful to me now. My mom passed away 5 almost 6 years ago now on July 16, 2018 and I wish I could've kept everything just as much as I miss her 😔💜
You are so strong to perform this song without tearing up.
You are my idol!!! Rep
i just know marjorie is so proud of her granddaughter
Beautiful video for a beautiful song 😭
Taylor and Aaron thank you for creating such a masterpiece
It makes me nearly cry sometimes ❤
Im so sorry Taylor ❤❤❤❤your amazing
I actually cried watching this
I cry every time I listen to it, and listening to it live in Milan at the Eras Tour absolutely destroyed me. 💔
So beautiful ❤
I love this song and it's so beautiful and her grandmother voice just enhance it.
Thank you for sharing this. My sister had a question about this today!
Best song she's ever written.
So sorry, Taylor I wish she was still alive so she could see how you’re really good and
Inner strength Taylor is a person with a hugh heart.
“Never be so kind, you forget to be clever, never be so clever, you forget to be kind”
I know how Taylor feels losing a loved one at a young age because I lost my grandmother at 2 and I never got to understand her because I was so little
Why did I cry when I watched this
Good to know there was an old part of Singapore that Marjorie experienced during her stint in the transition from British Colony to independent country. independent
She deserves all the success ❤
My grandma also passed away this year. But her name was not Marjorie. But I felt like the name would've suited her.
I never knew that her grandmother was singing with her… 😭
It is a really, really, really good song. 🎵 and it reminds me of my grandmother, too.
where is the video of taylor talking about the song from?
I cry
I’m so sorry😢❤💔to Taylor💜😭🕊️🪦
Powerful ❤
This song reminded me of my mom. ❤
I understand and relate my grandma died when I was in 1st grade
I feel so sorry 😢
I can’t listen to this song without thinking of my dog, she’s not dead, but I dream about her death sometimes. That’s why I never listen to marjorie.
Gosh I love TS ❤
I can’t be the only one crying
It’s crazy to think that Taylor’s grandmother was an opera singer and she cousin to Emily Dickinson.
So awesome❤
So sweet 🥰

And also my grandma when she was only 55 on 24 February 2014 she passed away from emphysema which in her case it was really bad I was only 9 months old when she passed away and then just 10 months later my grandmas mum passed away (on December the 29th 2014) also from emphysema but in her case it wasn’t really that bad
All I want to say is spend more time with your family because one minute they are here and then the next minute they are gone
