Lost my grandmother in October, and that line “I should have asked you questions, I should have asked you how to be, should’ve had you write it down for me.” It breaks me Every. Single. Time.
I feel it. I lost mine in May and the pre-chorus hit me like a truck the first time I listened to the album. I sat there with my hand over my mouth just sobbing like a baby and trying to hide the noise from everyone else in the house.
That's so memorable and a great bond between grand mother and grand daughter. In Cambodia there is a slogan said, Mother love daughter more and grand mother love their grand daughter the most. "ស្រឡាញ់កូនមួយតៅ ស្រឡាញ់ចៅមួយថាំង".
The resemblance between Taylor and her grandmother is so beautiful! It's subtle, but looking at photographs of Marjorie, you can definitely see some of those features that Taylor's inherited. What a gorgeous song.
Such a beautiful tribute. I lost my grandmother when I was 14 and I also wish I could have adult conversations with her. She and I were the sensitive ones in the family.

Right after she sings “I’d think you were singing to me now” you can hear a quick snippet of her grandmother singing opera. And you can also hear her at the end of the song, the outro is her grandmother if you listen closely.
Her personality, her songs, her voice, her albums, her Easter eggs, what she fights for is what makes her my favorite artist of all time.

This is exactly what i was telling my friend. The songs are consistent in theme, but SO unique.
Lost my grandmother in October, and that line “I should have asked you questions, I should have asked you how to be, should’ve had you write it down for me.” It breaks me Every. Single. Time.
I lost mine in October as well. The bridge hits so hard.
Lost mine October 1st too... This song caught me by surprise and made me SO emotional.
I lost both my parents years ago and I still don't make it passed the bridge without tearing up a bit...
I feel it. I lost mine in May and the pre-chorus hit me like a truck the first time I listened to the album. I sat there with my hand over my mouth just sobbing like a baby and trying to hide the noise from everyone else in the house.
That line broke me too. I was okay until then.
