Those were the all-retired D40-90 series. The D40-88s and 89s are powered by DDC 6V71N and Allison V731ATEC.
i finally remember these engines on our D40HFs...
LOL, more like a 1981-83 GMC RTS engine/transmission package...it still feels strange to ride a New Flyer/Flyer/Fishbowl with a RTS package!
SAN JUAN AMA GMC RTS 04 UNITS
Yepper! This engine has more of a deeper sound. Just like the D901s.
This one of the few TTC D40s with the unique seating arrangement at the back as shown in the video. The seats between the rear doors to the rear row are always perimeter seats on TTC's units.
this from to be 6488 a 1989 Model D40 from dever on the retired date retirement on ever thil ramplaced buses on 89 d40
Yup, the 87s and 90s retired early to heavier frame corrosion.
@GTAfan8850 The last one retired in March 2009.
uh.. u were around longer..all sounds sounded almost the same to me when i was younger.. lol :)
Actually, they were the 6V92TA engine.
Actually, this is in Canada.
The powertrain is the same as the Classics, not as the New Looks. The D901s don't have the New Look powertrain either.
When did those D40 89 buses retire?
... No wonder gthey were retired...
