I remember a few years ago, when I passed a test to go in a fine arts school in my country, I said to the professors that my goal was to create something, a concept that doesn't exists yet and would make people happier.
Results ? I've never felt so humiliated in my entire life, they laughed at me during the entire test for being "so naïve", making terrible jokes about me, right on the limit of psychological abuse.
Since then, (i studied for 5 years in that school), and I'm still working on that goal, but keeping it inside me, not telling anyone else. (Now you know.)

One Teacher once told me, people only go to school so that teachers get paid... Im Not sure where you're from... But just imagine how stupid it is to be taught a religion that you don't believe in... And having to admit you're wrong...

Fully agreed. Whenever I see certain new products I often think "wow. that makes my life so much easier. Wish I had thought of it" and then go about my life. I don't go looking for negative things, but I am a little more keen on inconveniences especially since I work two jobs and everything is point A to B for me. One day I hope to start a culinary business that supports athletic people and body builders. ;)

I focused on the unhappiness of my clients. I became excellent at solving all my client's problems. I own a small home care business. I am a great matchmaker for finding the right caregiver for every elderly client - matching a patient's personality and clinical care needs with a caregiver who has the proper training and attitude.
I don't waste anyone's time. Two phone calls, one email, and families and their loved ones are in a happy place.
It's just the business is a tricky business; most clients can't or won't pay realistic fees for home care services (discrimination doesn't help).
My business will never be a big business, but I’m happy to help some families and caregivers.
It also keeps me from working for others.😁

We used to be a Dutch colony up until slavery got abolished in 1863, after which contracted labourers came here from predominantly India, Indonesia, Africa, China (hence our incredibly diverse culture. We are quite known for the fact that we have a Synagogue and a Mosque right next to each other to signify the respect we have for culture). We became independent from the Dutch in 1975, and have had quite a stabile economic growth thanks to mostly natural resources. We have huge amounts of untainted Amazonian rainforests (as we are neighbors to Brazil). Anything else you want to know, just ask!

Many people say reducing fear without attempting to change something at the root is no valid problem solving strategy. I disagree. There are so many issues that will occupy your thoughts day and night, without being changeable in any way. I'd advise founding a sedative and painkiller exchange or bringing people together for group hug sessions for a fee or whatever. Full of valium and getting your back rubbed? Guys I have been a successful entrepreneur for nearly 20 years. My first career was in banking and then a cop. School teachers are probably worse placed to give advice about where you should point your life. Parents can be a good influence but don’t let others tell you what you are good at and what you should be doing. If you have a desire to feel the success when someone wants to pay for what you have created, offered for sale you have got to stay on the path of an entrepreneur. Reliance is the key!

  • @GsPeter100

The thing is, most people probably don’t understand their own unhappiness and so they reach for the wrong things. A good entrepreneur takes advantage of that and gives them the thing they want rather than the thing they need. Since they are not looking for the thing they need.
A truly good entrepreneur will convince them to get the thing they need

Everything Started As Nothing. It's important to start. That's the biggest first step that so many people fail to do. As an entrepreneur, you need to create a plan with goals and execute the plan to achieve the goals. The plan will have bumps and you will need to adjust and evolve along the way to eventually get to your goals. The journey will have a lot of ups and downs, but if you have a good business, you push hard and constantly evolve...then major goals are reachable. Dream big. :)

Could The School of Life make a video about how not to care what people think? Sometimes I find it hard to get out of my mind and live life for myself because I'm too busy worrying about outside judgment. I think others might appreciate the topic too, and The School always seems to reference the best quotes and examples to reinforce the ideas it presents.

People just do what they know best, they may not have any intention to add friction to you. Unfortunately that is the best they know. You can either be compassionate towards them, or you can ignore them.
If you talk about what you are creating in the mind and suffering; it's just illusion, because, past and future really do not exist, you are making it up and magnifying them. If only, you know how to use the tremendous tools only human beings have (ability to recall the memory and project into the imagination) such a question would not raise. This has to be looked at at the earliest...

it isn't just about ideas, its more about working ideas. Most of the time ideas others had but haven't done well enough. Usually a business that is successful makes something/provides a service that is actually 1000 tiny problems (all known already and nothing new) solved together.
All of the biggest successes and things we "can't live without" any more are "bad ideas" that have been worked hard enough to make a profit.
Everyone has ideas, they come naturally and for free, -they are also free of value. what is of value is implementation.

As a 15 year old, I am studying hard over the summer and learning as much as I can about school/academics for the next grade, and jobs on what I should do in order to get myself a lavish, good lifestyle (which has been my dream for years) I am so interested in Lawyers, Entrepreneurs, and political conservative commentators. I really believe I can fit into one or maybe even all of the 3 I am aiming for. I might be an entrepreneur, and an author. My dream is to make a business, an airline business which will be a lot of fun for me to make, and enjoy my interest. Also, I know i have to take a lot of risks to become a wealthy entrepreneur. I am praying a lot that I can become successful in high school, good grades, college, jobs, extra credit classes, and my degrees. I have a lot of hard work to look forward to, BUT, Jesus is by my side and he will help me get there, and I remember to always put GOD FIRST when I am the richest person, no matter what we always put the lord first. As a Christian, I am praying that I can succeed and hear good news, and aim to solve some problems. JESUS PLEASE HELP ME AND TAKE THE WHEEL!✝️✝️♥️♥️♥️ GOD FIRST

It may be an awfully cynical way of looking at it but surly a significant amount of entrepreneurs create a problem for people to feel bad/worried about and then offer the solution? Examples that come to mind are the beauty industry (with the suggestion that you are not beautiful without there product), quacks and charlatans who offer instant solutions to often made up problems and any company that promises instant happiness/fulfillment if you buy their product. Maybe I am just being negative but I would love to know what you think =)

Yes i agree...another one is to offer a solution to a problem but nevere To fully give the full solution...this will make your buyers come back for more so they are stuck because of your marketing agenda
.. an example is the PUA industry..the solution is simple but they sell it as something complicated...Another example is balding treatments and drugs like minoxidil...
