So as far as I remember the devs speaking about the games PvP loot list: 1) Matts are only available to a specific teir, kinda like soulbound items in WoW that cant be lost there is stuff that will be not available to be claimed by PvP players, forcing them to play PvE content or pay for the gear 2) The only way to collect gear is to buy it, craft it, or kill players that are considered "Hard Flagged" 3) Matts will also be related to the region your in, some areas are probably going to be more targeted then others for PvP looting as progression advances. Meaning older content wont do much good for a high rank player and they have to purpose other then being a asswipe to killing a low player, however killing low players opens them up to the "Hard Flagged" system meaning if trolling is worth it to them then the system punishes them by basically posting a bounty for that players gear and cash. Bounties will be a thing as well meaning people will get the ability to track these players for the durration that they have the "Hard Flag". Durration of the Hard Flag is yet to be determined, and if its done outside your node and at war how that would effect things With this info hope this allows you to question more of the system cause for me the part about the Hard Flag system could be awesome or punish everyone depending on how its implemented. Your thoughts?
Avoiding PvE will be easy? I doubt that very much Steven already said to level up you'll need to PvE. They don't intend to have PvE leveling. Caravans will end up going through PvE territory, so will ships. Not to mention everyone will be incentivized to do dungeons and raid bosses which will be overwhelmingly (if not exclusively) PvE content. PvP will be MUCH easier to avoid than PvE the way it looks right now.
It wont though, every single thing you will need to be best in slot geared can be bought or taken off other players. Yes PvE will exist to some extent, as there are always those types of players.. But you wont be able to avoid a clan zerg rushing an open world boss you are trying to take down, and killing your raid and then the boss. Without guilds being strategic, without sieges and wars, the game will never fully function as intended, and these types of MMOs are dominated by Zerg PvP guilds
@@RitchieSH Taken off other players? Highly unlikely. That would be someone who's earned good gear getting intensely corrupt, which will almost never happen. In terms of being bought off other players, sure, but where do you think you're going to get the money for that? Maybe by doing caravan runs, which includes both PvE and PvP, but mostly it's going to be crafting or PvE that gets you that $$.

One way they could punish PVP players who fail is through the cost of seige equipment. Make the cost of seige equipment needed for node seiges and caravans costly to make and if you fail ots destroyed.
I think it all depends on the penalty. More penalty leads to less pvp. I am hoping different areas have different penalties. Dungeons should have more penalties, and the open world should have less. Even some areas won't have any such as in open water.
I disagree, PvP is the back bone to every major system. The game wants the conflict between caravans, nodes, castles, open world dungeons.. but ultimately it’ll probably depend when server you end on and how big the guilds really are 🤷🏼♂️
@@RitchieSH There's been more of a focus on the PvP stuff lately, but there's going to be a TON of PvE content in this game. It just doesn't get nearly as much attention as the PvP content.

Given how much PvE there is in PvP content, it's much more likely to be a PvE game guising as a PvX game.
Nothing about the way Ashes of Creation is designed makes me think this is a PvE game in any way, shape or form lol
