By this review, I'd choose Staedtler over Tombow, because I want to reach to my dark values slowly and in multiple layers for more controls because if you make it too dark too soon, there is no going back. Staedtler makers are smarter, more experienced, understand artists' requirements and this is why most pros use it.

There are two types: Staedtler Lumograph, and Lumograph Black. The LB are darker with a graphite+carbon mix. So I guess you have to compare with them as well.
BTW I haven't tried any of these, only Castell 9000.

Big brands like Staedtler, faber castell 9000 series and tombow mono are very known for their quality products but I think tombow's pencil are very underrated and not that much popular as Staedtler.
