As an Arsenal fan De Gea was the best keeper in the League for years. i remember saying UTD would be fighting relegation if it wasn't for him. That same phrase was said throughout the Moyes and van gaal era. He makes about 5 mistakes and he get's discarded like my fodder on fifa. Playing out from the back is only viable when the team gel together and UTDs defence is as good as AK47 with blanks, looks like it will do damage but really it's a grown mans toy not threatening anyone.

Yeah, I'm sure he's playing for a much better team right now and doing amazingly for his country...Oh, that's right. No other club wants him for the same reasons as United.
Getting rid of him wasn't the problem. It was getting rid of him when we don't have the structure in place to play the football that's needed. So we just have a goalkeeper who is pound for pound worse at stopping shots and who kicks it out (unless its CL where he kicks it to the enemy) to a team that can't do what they need to and in turn we compare to De Gea who would make even the best shots look like childs play.
That being said, I would've much preferred keeping De Gea for another season and waiting to get a new keeper & also would've liked to see him get more of a send off than eh got. Think he was robbed of that for sure.

Zaha's goal was strange, but he used his body and created his own luck.
On the 2nd and 3rd Galatasaray goal, Amrabat is to blame.
Some of you are pointing at Onana's mistake, but for me it's about Amrabat.
Too slow to block the cross that led to the 2nd goal. And a very unusual (and wrong) pass from him, that caught Lindelof by surprise.
I'm not blaming him, as he's kind of playing out of position at left back, because of all injuries.
We are unlucky to have Shaw, Malacia and Reguillon out injured. We can't really blame Ten Hag, as he reacted quite quickly to sign Reguillon on loan. Just unlucky.
Brandon Williams could have done a better job at left back tonight... It's crazy how small details can destabilize the structure of the whole defensive organization, at Champions League level.
In the end, Ten Hag may put a young left back from the Academy, telling him to just focus on defending. But then it will put some additional workload on Rashford on the left and we will start critizing him for not doing enough upfront.
I let Ten Hag find the solution to this :D

It's funny though. I don't think it's that fun to watch Arsenal content outside of games and I'm an Arsenal fan as well. I watch the games of course but beyond that there's not that much to talk about except how much of a flop havertz is and all the injuries etc.

Not a Utd fan but totally agree on De Gea - couldn't believe how happy Utd fans seemed to be that they were getting rid of him. Wasn't he your player of the year 3 or 4 years? I can understand the desire to upgrade but he would not have been top of my list of issues for Utd.

I think what made De Gea look so bad was the combination with Maguire, they both looked bad with each other because they make some easy mistakes, but with stable defenders De Gea isn't a weakspot and with a Manuel Neuer type GK Maguire wouldn't look so goofy all the time
