If you love American Foursquare interiors, you're bound to love this American Four Square. With handcrafted "honest" woodwork, beautiful high ceilings, lots of windows and built-in cabinetry, it's hard not to view this house as a Prairie Box or American Foursquare paradise.
Double-deep lot - possibly dividable. Perfect house for that vintage house lover. NONE of the woodwork has ever been painted - in 90 or 100 yrs. That's amazing unto itself.

[00:00:00] So I got to come out and look at these houses sometimes just like first time, like a juju's one shot. I got a figure out who's going to live in this house, who would be attracted to this house? Who we goanna get to buy this house? Who's going to love it? So it's a lot of assumptions and it's a lot of responsibility, too. But I'm thinking who would be perfect for this house? And I immediately thought of the fire people, you know, with the fire movement, you know, fire financially independent, retire early. Whether you think it's good or not. Tell me. I'd really love to hear your thoughts about it, too. What do you think? Here's why I mentioned the fire movement, by the way. I'll tell you, the lock goes all the way here. This is this is your lot here. This driveway with the car and then it goes back. It's like double deep. I'll show that to you. Put it in aerial right here anyway. Why is it some fire movement house? Well, if you were here, the first thing you would notice is that the woodwork has been untouched. The houses, I don't know, 80, 90, 100 years old. And the woodwork has never been known to say bastardised. But you know exactly what I mean.
If you're a purist and it's never been compromised by being painted or anything. And it's absolutely beautiful. Catena is fantastic. I'm a Catena guy. I like integrity. I like real stuff. And you just don't get this kind of work on check and certainly don't get the patina if you have a new house, just a fire, obviously. Right. All hardwood floors. There's four fireplaces. All right. I'm going to save the kitchen for last will go in the living room. We've got going on here a little doggy pocket door, right there, fireplace number one. You've got a Craftsman style house.
Put this up. What I like about the kitchen best is that it's so light and bright and area. So this is the west to the east is behind me. So you've got plenty of beautiful light in the morning without the sun streaming in your eyes for, before you have your coffee and then have beautiful sunsets over that way. Lot of cabinets, a lot of cabinets, assuming they're birch. Nice. Crown molding on the top there.

Those old homes did not use Flue Liners so yea you can burn wood but there is a risk of chimney fires. Not recommended. You can get them either reworked to have Flue Liners (expensive) or just use gas which is cheaper.
If one wants white woodwork, then don’t buy a historic home that’s original. It’s our duty to keep it. Sandy
I just bought one where the previous owner painted it white turns out the wood was rotted in the white paint hid it pretty well during inspection. 🤦♀️

Lovely, lovely. Nice kitchen, not tooooo big. love those big windows, let in all that Vitamin D. The unpainted woodwork is pure caramel. Four fpls, even tho they don't work have ethetic value, that romantic touch.
That same house in my area would be $3500 a month probably

I'm just binge watching because I love home tours. I missed my calling for being a real estate agent lol. It's a shame I didn't see the 3 years ago when it was up for sale lol. This would have been perfect for my husband, daughter and I lol.
There are many of these gorgeous +100 year old houses in Moose Jaw, SK, Canada with the super cool dormer top window in the attic. They were built in the pre WWI economic boom era of roughly 1900 to 1914. I love seeing them getting bought, renovated, insulated and fixed up.

Just stunning. Beats the brakes off the modern day McMansion imvho. If they are maintained with updated mechanicals they are tough to beat. That woodwork and flooring is incredible. Lots of good natural lighting.

This video is interesting. Its not appealing outside but really beautiful inside. And the wood work of the house is so refined and well crafted. This house is in the budget. Totally awesome for a starting couple or a single parent or single just starting a career. Independent house should be call for this one.
A small Foursquare... but not. The interior betrays it. I think it's simply vernacular... late victorian. The interior is charming and the frontage is beautifully detailed. Really nice house. Thanks!

We have the same layout the only difference is we have arched doorways and the previous owner painted the trim and covered hardwood with vinyl. 🤦♀️

Beautiful home, well cared for. I'll bet a clever architect could fit in a second (master) bath upstairs without wrecking the woodwork. The "big bath" might reflect the period, but it needs tasteful renovation, as does the kitchen. The lot has possibilities, and not just for subdivision. You could build a garage with an upstairs studio accessed from the other road.
I'm sure this place sold quickly.

I really enjoy your tours, especially the ones with old houses! I do wish that the words wouldn't pop up on the screen so often. It really takes away from my ability to take in the scene and envision myself there... You could put all the info into the video description instead and people who are interested would know just where to find it. So that's my request of improvement! Otherwise, I'm very happy whenever a video of yours comes up in my feed. I just can't watch and feel relaxed and excited if the text keeps interrupting the video though. Hi Kay, good feedback! I think the price was mentioned within the 1st 10 seconds of the video. And utilities are going to be how you use them. So people like it cooler, some warmer - but I can tell you, with city gas, it is very inexpensive. Taxes will be around $1500/yr. Especially when they are in great condition, yeah there's a flipping market for them but the houses that are in its original built as much as possible and is upkeep is beautiful

I don't like fake stuff either, but for windows, I draw the line and go with no maintenance. Life's too short to scrape and paint windows. I got wine to drink! hahahaha

Are you kidding when you get to the age of retirement you don't want no yard no stairs in the way this freaky ass world is nowadays they want gated communities. All they do is walkout they Dio to the pool, to the breakfast buffet, lunch then dinner. Paw Paw Place pool or golf s and meemaw gifts her hair dyed, fried and throw to the side. No yard work no worries
If you want to sell this house, get all of that tacky mismatched furniture that distracts from it OUT!
Hi Heru- deshet, most of the folks we work with can see beyond someone else's prized possessions that they've collected or inherited over the years. Maybe just look through the things you don't like and see the bones and the spirit of the house - and the location.
@@BradSimmons I always do, especially in fixer uppers. In this case for some strange reason, the furniture detracts from it's beauty. It needs to be staged, which will be costly or the detracting elements removed.
They really screwed up in redoing the kitchen should have done dark oak mission style cabinets and dark granite counter tops, Brad just rambles on and on I wanted to hang myself !! I watched the rest half way thru on mute
