Amazing that his perfectionism both created and destroyed him as a player. I believe one of the reasons he suffered so many injuries was due to overtraining and overloading his body. Fantastic to see he has found a way to live a more enjoyable life. I believe this phenomena happens with many, if not most high- achievers at some point.

That's a pretty great conclusion about life. I'm very glad I came across this. Winning the freaking World Cup, on a LAST MINUTE DROP GOAL, against Australia in Australia, compounded with winning Player of the Year in the world, a 6N Grand Slam earlier... and feeling empty. Wow.
