Thank you for the feedback! I think keeping videos under 10 minutes is a nice sweet spot. Great choice! It’s an amazing book! What are you currently reading now?
Absolutely! I’m actually audiobooking the bill Hodges trilogy and might discuss that soon. And this September I’ll be reading Salem’s Lot with my sister and uncle!
@@heilyhendrix I was looking through the comments and replying to ones I haven't had a chance to get to and saw yours again! I just finished Pet Sematary yesterday and I am starting Salem's Lot today! I will be doing a Pet Sematary review this week.
Just finished this book today and I agree, whole thing was incredible! Didn’t feel slow for a second to me, I literally could not put it down for most of it. I really enjoyed the sort commentary King offered on the power of writing through the story. Feels like a love letter to craft and I’m all for it haha
Yes! Good storytelling needs good characters because that is what we hold on to when we read. If we care about the characters and are invested in their story, it will never matter what the circumstances are that they find themselves in. They can be lying in bed watching paint dry for 200 pages or they can be leading an army toward a castle. I love slow paced storytelling!
I’m reading King for the first time too ! Just read The Institute and 11.22.63 and really loved both. I completely understand now why he’s such a prolific author
My wife and I just watched the Misery film the other night. Sadly it was right after I filmed my review. The film was so different from the book. GREAT casting for Paul and Annie. But the film was just WAY too short. The pacing kept taking me out of it. I wanted to be immersed and stuck in the house with Paul. I wanted moments to linger a bit longer so I could feel the miserable state that Paul was in. The film was also too predictable. Unlike the book which had me always guessing.
When it comes to Stephen King "The Stand" is a must read but one that I would suggest that is totally underrated is "The Dead Zone". This was the one that made me a confirmed fan.
YES! The Stand is on my list! I've hear great things about The Dead Zone. What an amazing concept. I plan on diving into Pet Semetery and Salem's Lot once September hits.
This Wretched Valley by Jenny Kiefer. Picked it up on a whim at the library, which is how most of my horror reading happens, lol! The author actually owns a horror bookstore in Louisville, KY. Which I will probably never visit unless I am extremely in that area, as it looks creepy and gives off a depressing old feeling with the wood paneled walls. So props to the owners for knowing their stuff! 😂
I still need to read Misery. I will though: I really enjoyed your review. King is great though. I've only read like 7 of his books, but I'll say you should read Pet Semetary. It was phenomenal and one of those books that sticks with you.
I am so sorry your comment got buried. I literally just finished Pet Semetary this morning. It is now my favorite King book. Barley beats out Misery. WOW. I will actually be posting a review this week! I will be starting Salem's Lot tonight. (I've been looking forward to this one the most).
noooo waaaaaaayyy you disliked Mistborn but like this drag of book hahahahahha. That was my first and last book from King lol. I might give The Shining a try some day tho
Dang it! Well we can't all agree on everything. I think I really just enjoy slow paced books. Literally laying in bed with a character was so intriguing. Reading the dulling pain in his legs and how he only see's the world from this one room. What is your favorite book?
Gerald's Game also takes place in a bed. if only Stephen wrote a 3rd book that takes place in a bed. We would have a from the bed trilogy. PS did Crossroads of Twilight break you lol.
That is AMAZING! He needs to make that happen. Id collect all three as hardcovers. Crossroads was a struggle. A real struggle. Only 3 moments were truly memorable. And once again too many dang names! But I came out on top! I’m about 10 chapters into Knife of Dreams. LOVING it.
Loved this video. Not too long, straight to the point. I think I might read this one next 🫶🏼

Institue was never on my radar until I read the synopsis. It gives off such Stranger Things vibes I love it!
Loved the movie but I never read the book. Same with your review of jaws. I like hearing about differences between the movies and books.

I’m reading The Uncut Version of The Stand 🤔 such a good book really make you think about the choices you make!

I started reading the wheel of time after i read misery. I have never been so terrified and disgusted hahahaha

I’m halfway through the book and maybe it’s because I’ve seen too much Criminal Minds, but I don’t think it’s all that scary…yet.

@@Thomas.R.Howell Knife of dreams is a return to form. The opening of the prologue with Galad might be the best sword fight ever put to the page.
