    I was following this okay until 4:41 when I noticed that just before making the second knot the two ends are not tied to the pendant whereas when i looked at mine the two ends were not loose but tied to my pendant....? Not sure where I went wrong.

    How can I make a smaller necklace that will still fit over my head? Do I just add 6 inches to any length?

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      To make this necklace that hangs as a 24 inch necklace we added 12 inches, starting with a total length of 36 inches. That's roughly 6 inches for the knots to travel and 6 inches to make the knots, with a little left over. Adding 12 inches is a good rule of thumb for using this technique to make common necklace sizes. Be sure to try it on before you cut the ends, if the size feels a little off you can always adjust the placement of the knots.

    Is there a diagram of how to do this? The video doesn't show which 6" tail to loop and wrap around 3 strands. Very frustrating.

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry we don't have diagram available for this. We do have some other videos on slide knots that might be helpful. This is our most popular one: th-cam.com/video/fNKcAbB9DME/w-d-xo.html

    I just tried it with suede and it would’ve worked but at the point where it was time to stress test it, I pulled the knots too tight and now they won’t budge. Word of caution. It you tighten them too much, good luck. I’m trying to loosen it but it’s only damaging the cord

    • @blinksbill1138
      @blinksbill1138 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wonder it there was a way to pull on a bead instead of a knot. Because the knot only gets tighter when opening and closing

    Is there a bail or something to use on one of these so you can interchange charms?

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. For this style of knotted cord necklace I'd recommend something like this spacer bail. It's stylish but small so it won't steal focus from your charm beadaholique.com/collections/pendant-bails/products/tierracast-spacer-bail-hammered-with-loop-3x12mm-2-pieces-brass-oxide-finish

    How is that possible? I can draw but can't make a knot!😆

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This can be a tough knot even for folks with a bit of experience, give yourself permission to try it a few times knowing it won't turn out right, you'll gain a better sense of how the material moves and how it's going wrong, and that will be what helps you figure it out in the end, even if it takes a bit.

    Would you be able to use flat leather cords as well? Or does only round work

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would not recommend it with flat leather because the smooth round surface is what helps it to slide. I fear that it might get stuck and not move well if it is flat.

      Sorry we're not in Jamaica, we're based in Los Angeles and unfortunately we don't have a store front there either, we can only sell online. If you're looking for less expensive material to make this sort of necklace we do have waxed cotton cord, which you can knot in the same way. Still expensive, but you get a lot more than with the leather so it's about 55 cents per yard: beadaholique.com/products/economy-waxed-cotton-necklace-cord-1-5mm-brown-10-yards-30-feet
      This sort of cord you can probably find lots of places near you too. Hardware and construction supply stores will sometimes have it.

    I WISH SHE COUL NAME EACH END AND THE CAMERA WAS ZOOMED OUT MORE. SO WE CAN SEE WHICH END OR TAIL LOOP SHE'S REFERRING TO... ITS HARD TO UNDERSTAND WHEN EVERYTHING ALMOST HAS THE SAME NAME N UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHICH SIDE SHE'S TALKING ABOUT... ON TO THE NEXT VIDEO TO FIGURE THIS OUT.
