Post Christmas - Overloaded Phoenix 300s

Unit 930225, This Area in Southeast Phoenix has terrible snowconed 300s so full the driver had 2 loads before 10 am and in just one neighborhood. Thanks to the great driver for letting us film

That grip pressure is spot on. And it actually handled them pretty well with how grossly overfilled they were. Especially when you consider that these were never designed for (and probably still shouldn't be used for) 300s. At least not without serious modification of the hopper & packer.
Pretty neat video, kind of surprised they're still using any in these routes. Made for a good video though.

Yeah id say the sheer weight of all the trash from 1 300 was good enough in compacting the trash and allowing the packer to not totally choke, still not the best for alleys. We were shocked to see this here lol.

That Amrep seems to actually be a pretty good truck for those 300's.

12:46 You could have pointed out to the driver that there's this big piece of cardboard acting as a ramp for the garbage to get stuck on and which is slowing downwards progression of garbage. If it got pushed in properly, the rest of the garbage could flow down properly along with it. It's like a tap valve, it's directing the flow around it but is not going down much itself because it's sticking out of the side of the hopper a bit too much. It's not the best hopper sidewall design, hopper sidewalls should be flat right to the top of the hopper without cutouts or open sections in them.
