First off, just want to say WOOOW!! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to each and every one of you for allowing this goofball to occupy your screens for a couple minutes 😄 I'm seriously blown away! Although I guess I shouldn't be surprised... 7.3 owners are as quality as their trucks, I totally appreciate the lack of trolls. Lastly, here is part two (servicing the oil side of injectors) if anyone is interested: th-cam.com/video/E9ie45ilEQQ/w-d-xo.html Once again, thank you!! You guys rock!
I’m from England so we haven’t got your lovely big trucks but we use diesels in the majority of our commercial vans & truck. Got a diesel thrown up two injectors codes and running like a kangaroo, doing this seafoam stuff as you’ve shown into the filter sorted my problems. Next is my Land Rover Discovery and my Audi, all diesels. Thanks dude you’re a star. 👍🙏 All the best Richard
@@DeepSouthBayouDiesel I emptied the diesel filter filling it with one bottle, put another in the oil (changing oil out 1000 miles later) and two bottles in the fuel tank which had approx two gallons of diesel. Four all told.
I've got the 6.0 powerstroke but it has a very similar fuel bowl, I picked up some seafoam a while ago but wasn't really sure how I was gonna go about it and forgot. This being a great idea I'm gonna do this tomorrow, thanks!
Ive heard good things about sea foam. the issue here is this is a return system,. 90 percent of that goes straight back into the tank and gets diluted. its really only running on anout 10 percent sea foam. thats just the way return systems work. u could verify this yourself by pulling the supply line to fuel bowl off off the line by the motor mount and put a rubber line down into your bottle. u will see it will suck up a quart in about 30 seconds of run time, its not using that much fuel. most is going to bowl and injectors and out of return line in head back into fuel bowl and straight into the tank.
Agreed 100%! Equal to, if not MORE important on the oil side. Frequent oil/filter changes using quality products is one of the golden rules when it comes to having a 7.3 live a long and happy life. Using a reputable, quality oil additive is also an excellent choice! Products like Hot Shot, Marvel Mystery Oil, Archoil, etc. are great at adding back some of the lubricity that the EPA took away when they slashed the amount of permittable sulfur that used to be in diesel.
@caveman joe Couldn't hurt! I recommend using Hot Shot's Stiction Eliminator... while stiction isn't nearly as prevalent in the 7.3's as it is in the 6.0's, I find comfort in using a product that is specifically designed as an oil additive for the HEUI injectors. I was actually about to make a video on it here within the next couple hours :)
@camposvazquez As a matter of fact I just got done shooting it a couple hours ago! As soon as I get home tonight I'm gonna start editing it so it should be up on the channel within the next 12 hours or so! :)
That's an awesome name! No clue why I said Big Bertha, I usually call it Dee. What matters is that my big white Dee rises up to any job I need to pound out. While it's not the fastest or the strongest, it has never let me down and ALWAYS finishes the job, and everyone that requests my Dee for services always walk away satisfied. 😉
I'd like to try this, but the CP4 scares me. Cleaning injectors versus an entire fuel system. I add OptiLube XL to every tank (4oz per 20gal) and so far so good. Wouldn't the ethanol in Seafoam dry/clean the CP4 parts and allow failure? Mine is a 2017, so 6.7L gen2.
You should also remove the majority of the engine oil from the HPOP reservoir and replace it with a 50/50 mixture of sea foam and ATF. If you don’t feel confident doing that then use Marvel Mystery oil as it’s the same shit just already mixed. Cleaning just the fuel side of the injectors won’t do shit if the high pressure oil side is also gummed up.
Get some diesel, extreme or some arch oil that’ll clean out your injector for sure bud seafoam I don’t know all about that on a diesel specially, on those Huey injectors
I have used both those products as well :) both excellent choices! I saw the Seafoam guys do this on a 7.3 so it's definitely OK... I am super curious if you could do this same process with Marvel Mystery Oil or Hot Shots Diesel Extreme... what you think?
The only people that would be negatively affected are the ones whose injectors are being held together by carbon deposits... which I imagine are going to be pretty few and far between.
🤐 I'm going to go ahead and just be very nice here ... Don't worry about your fuel bowl, if anything add some marvel mystery oil to the fuel bowl, but treat the oil side of the injectors with MMO or some hot shot. Seam foam in the fuel bowl and 'hot soaking' the engine is about the most ignorant part of this how to video... Sorry buddy
Yes mmo is good yes sea foam is good you just don’t know what you don’t know sea foam does work been using it on my 96 psd for years so hopefully this enlightens you

Did it help?
@@DeepSouthBayouDiesel yes it did though I get one injector code come up occasionally
@@Richard2E0IKJ that's great to know. How many bottles of sea foam have you used?

99-03 psd dead head so your wrong unless you have done a fuel return kit
Loved the video. Gonna try it on the next oil change. Thx!
Bro.... WOW again WOW!!! IT SO WORKED SO WELL THANK YOU SO MUCH WOW THANK YOU!!!
That's awesome to hear!! I'm stoked for you/Seafoam is great stuff! You're welcome! :)
Did it have notably more power afterwards
@jeradstorlie5685 I wouldn't say more power, more so smoother idle/acceleration. Quicker start up too. But that's just my personal experience.
In a 7.3 powerstroke the injectors need to be cleaned on the oil side too for complete cleanliness, longevity, and healthy smooth running.

Would an engine oil flush work for that purpose?

Yeeeeee let’s gooo
Hot soak? Most of the seafoam went to the tank through the return.
Nope these newer psd dead head meaning there is no fuel return off the heads now your info
Ditch the fuel bowl . And daily some 300 percent injectors 💪 more Smiles per mile :)
What’s that kind of setup run, cost wise?? Sounds pretty dope but installation might be a little above my pay grade lol.
