Are they peaceful, or could it be that that life for them has become so difficult that nothing matters to them anymore. They are just going through the motions of staying alive, but do not understand how fortunate they are simply to be alive.

Yes. I think he means stillness. In another clip, he said the stories we make up should be an adventure, or love story ie something pleasant. It all goes back to feeling pleasant within. If you make up a story where you are full of yourself, in which you cannot even be still, then you mess up. I think that’s along the lines of what he’s saying. ❤
if you find a way to make the moment useful, you are never waiting on something.... if you are waiting for something or someone, at least you can repeat some mantra...but you can only do this, if you know it is useful, and it works....if you are think mantra is waste of time, it won't work. even in middle of traffic jam, you don't have to suffer; if not mantra, something else. make it useful. Remember a joke and laugh. Or, if you see lack of peace in yourself, look at it, and laugh at that. O you silly mind, ha ha, getting tense.... Use as opportunity to become more self-aware. Could you please tell your viewers clearly : Do you have any significant faults or are you a perfect, enlightened being ? If the latter, please clarify explicitly: are you an Avatar of God ? He never talks about himself is because all he does is about us, him being perfect or in perfect has nothing to do with my growth, I just need guidance regarding how I can improve. Also he has said we follow teachers not because teachers are perfect, simply because most people could not figure out ourselves about life, so we turn to people who are steps ahead of us. He also says if your intelligence can make you the peak of the consciousness, then you don’t need him or anyone, there are rare beings like that. My point is if you are looking for a perfect going to guide you, then you have to wait for a long time. One minute he tells you that human beings are at the pinnacle of evolution and endowed with uniquely tremendous potential and then he tells you how insignificant you are.
