Congratulations to you girl welcome to the other side 👍 I quit my my job as a registered nurse last two years ago after almost 9 years in the field. It was not an easy decision, but life is too short to dread going to work everyday. As a fellow RN, I completely agree with being versatile! I’ve done ED, med-surg, IR, cath lab, same day surgery and endoscopy- today i’m a nurse administrator looking to obtain the nurse executive certification. Best wishes to you! The sky’s the limit for you and I look forward to your updates❤️
Thank you! & wow! You have so much experience. It really helps in the long run when your body starts to feel like you need a break. This is awesome. What does the process look like for the nurse exec certification?
@@veryvanessa Thank you Vanessa! The nurse exec exam will test your knowledge in healthcare operations that include, HR, finance, Patient safety and regulatory to name a few. With this credential, you can seek roles in healthcare administration at director level and above. Personally, I will be seeking executive (AVP, VP) level roles in healthcare operations. I just watched your post-surgery update. I’m glad you’re recovering well and so happy for your great news! 💜💜💜
@@veryvanessa I would say yes- especially at the executive level. I have a MBA. I have colleagues currently working as nurse directors with a BSN. Most of them are working to get their Master’s and/or the nurse exec credential.
Let me just start and say your skin is just glowing and you are so pretty! I’m new to your channel but as fellow TH-camrs and nurses, I whole heartedly applaude your bravery for quitting your urgent care job. I just quit bedside nursing and did a video on it as well. I now do Aesthetic Nursing at a medical spa full time and I run the business. I absolutely love it! 🤎 A lot of people warned me that the hospital was more of a secure job but I was depressed and felt I wasn’t making an impact on people’s lives. Plus COVID didn’t make things better. New subscriber to your channel, can’t wait to see your next video! ☺️
Thank you for shedding light on this area of nursing, Vanessa. I'm an LPN of 19 years and I have been in case management, UR, authorizations nurse positions. Last year, I left my job to work on a forensics team which entails doing psych case management for the courts / probation probation dept. I enjoy this line of work that requires more use of my brain and a little less of my achy body in my older age. I will apply to the RN program this fall and have all the credits needed to transfer. It's game on once I get my BSN!
Congratulations 🍾 I hope you continue to love your new position! I definitely have been thinking about leaving the bedside after having this baby. We’ll see!
Congratulations! I keep my assisted living wellness job and work PRN (about one shift per month) and that keeps my "bedside" itch scratched. I left Mother/Baby inpatient for Mother/Baby case management/community health I'm 2019 and LOVE IT!
Sis I wish I knew about this earlier! Nurses need to know they don’t have to suffer in burnout. There’s so many options out there. That’s great that you still have a PRN just in case. But yes, I’m here for it!
Welcome to the other side! I left beside a year ago and started my career as a CDI nurse. I’ve been working from home ever since and haven’t looked back. There are so many non-clinical, well paying jobs out there! Side note: I would love to see a “What I eat in a day” video. I could use some healthy recipes and your salads always look bomb!
That’s awesome! CDI is what exactly? There’s so many different positions, I wish I got into this realm of nursing sooner. & yes, I’m going to make a Day in the Life: Work at Home video bc my new job allows me to work remotely. I’ll include what I typically eat throughout the day!
It’s beneficial to have some experience but I have heard of new grad nurses getting hired right out of school. It depends! Def worth a try. The worst they can say is no.
