It’s like complaining a show with Nazis as villains doesn’t dehumanize Jewish people, LGBTQ people, disabled people, and other groups the Nazis targeted enough out of “fairness.” The ethics of such an impulse are dubious, and the audience not being smart enough to realize that doesn’t mean the art needs to degrade itself.

No way yall don’t understand why starlight did that.. Yes obviously it fucks things up and no it wasn’t a lie that she got an abortion. That in no way makes it not completely fucked up to broadcast that to everyone, especially in front of an audience that would be completely okay with calling her a “baby killer” on national television.

In the diabolical series, there was an episode where a person dying of cancer was given the 'V', but the cancer was the one that got powers and became sentient and kept the person alive so the cancer could keep on living. I think it's happenign the same with butcher, we know he has it because Homelander sayed last episode that Butche has a big tumor in his brain.

The reason why Starlight isn't playing the game is because her fans will see that as being inauthentic and she has different rules to homelander he broke the rules multiple times but still his fans were radicalised and became even bigger fans, sadly starlight doesn't have the privilege
When actors are qualified for emmys they do need to submit an episode so this one certainly will be Antony Starr’s
Antony Starr would qualify as Lead Actor as he has the most screen time and most of the plot points revolve around him in some ways.
It's called the "Bad Room" because he had bad thoughts in there, and I think based on the gore at the end, Homelander imagined their bodies in that room many times. Like an artist, the vision was already in his head, all he had to do was "paint" it.
He left Barb alive, cuz she was the most honest one there. She spilled all the beans and it wasn't to save her skin. So Homelander likes that, wasn't a sniveling spinless worm that begs. She'll probably get out, its Vought. just had to leave a witness.

Low key hate Vought way, way more than Homelander after this episode, the ****ed up things they did to Homelander as he was growing up, it makes complete sense why he turned out the way he did, imagine brainwashing someone to not want to leave a place where they're constantly being tested on and basically tortured your entire life growing up.

Half of this episode was a pure horror movie. Antony Starr needs to win ALL the awards for this role as he terrifies me to my core!!
I think the special thing about Ryan was that he was a Sup when he was born. Some of the other Sups have kids, but they aren't Sups when born so they just inject them with V. But maybe others have natural Sups but they just weren't the first. Im not sure on the lore of the TV show.
After this episode i would say Antony Starr is literally best actor ever ! His facial expressions are scary good !!

@tablesalt2628 Yeah thats bad writing. I get its an accident but Starlight had never killed anyone before that. So her first kill was a civilian who was defending himself from being robbed or worse. His death should’ve had more of an impact on her especially if she’s supposed to be this sweet angel who cares so much about innocent people
@tablesalt2628 He pulled a gun because Butcher was about to pull his out first. And when he told them to back away, Butcher continued to antagonize him while moving closer to him. The civilian was completely in the right here.
If Starlight can kill an innocent man without feeling remorseful even if it was accidental, that seems pretty sociopathic to me. Its just contradictory to her character because the writers want us to see her as this morally upstanding superhero, but she killed an innocent man and immediately forgot about him in the next scene. It just sounds like a villain origin story, but clearly thats not how the writers want it to be taken. Thats why its bad writing
Honestly is anyone surprised that most people including this channel are purposefully oblivious to the politics that have been in the show? A lot of viewers are obviously in denial and secretly hurt by the anti right wing rhetoric, just look at the independent reviews on rotten tomatoes. The Boys has never been subtle about it. Have we entirely missed this shows premise of getting Supes into the Military and the subtle similarities to wh*te s*primacy shown through said Supes?

Does anyone else feel like we missed a whole half-season in between S3 and S4? It feels like The Boys took this massive left-turn in their attitudes and character development and we didn't get to see it happen. Might have also helped us bridge the gap between "dudes trying to kill supes" to "super politco-drama" and made the season more enjoyable.

The side plots pull down the show this season. It's very disjointed with all the characters all over the place and barely together. Do we really care about Hughie's mom/Colin/Kimiko's other? No, not really.

I'm still salty over them killing the possibility of frenchie and kimiko getting together in episode 1. It was built up sooo much, just for the writers to go "haha lol jk, prank'd ya, u thought"
Fax about the last part. But the main plot is SOOOO much better than ANY other one of the seasons.
I actually agree. The thing is, i personally feel like there's interesting stuff in some of those story lines, but the writing just isn't there. Like, hughie's to me is the most interesting, mostly because his dad is a supe now and we all know that doesnt really mesh with his personality, but it was hard to care about a guy who we havent reallt seen for 3 seasons (?). The worst by far is frenchie's imo. He's always been eccentric and dysfunctional, but sleeping with a guy whose family you killed just makes him unlikeable, and worse, adds nothing to the main plot.
The point is all of the characters are dealing with past actions. That's the theme of the season. The chickens are coming home to roost.

Honestly I’m leaning towards decent, the characters are so well acted I’m basically just watching to see more of Antony Starr and Karl Urban, everyone else is doin a good job too and it’s fun to watch them act but the storyline of this season is just, annoying.
It was more interesting focusing on killing the 7. But now it's the 7 vs starlight. A minor hero. It's not a good choice imo

This is the episode I'm finally done with The Boy lol. It's an amazing show, and the actors are brilliant (especially Antony Starr). But every time I watch an episode, the dystopian world just bothers me a lot, and the graphic violence is just too much for me
It sucks that almost everyone’s acting is at S Tier, but the writing is the worst it’s ever been.
