❤ Gordon. Thank you for coming back and for sharing. You continue to be an inspiration both professionally and personally. And Adam, you've been doing great helping where it's been needed for PC World. We already talked about this, but I've been impressed with your field reporting. I'm glad you and Gordon have each other on the same team so that you guys can work together to cover for each other when it's needed.
Without going into personal details, I've been going through a very similar situation the past year (and still am). Your videos were a pleasant distraction from a very unpleasant reality. Thank you. I truly wish all the best for you and the people around you.
There's often the misconception that stay strong means you can't cry. Let yourself cry. Shed those tears, they are worthwhile. We've all dropped our sweat, blood, and tears into our builds in one way or another. I look forward to hearing more of you in the future. Take care Gordon
"Praying"? That's what you're doing? As in literally nothing and then feeling like you've accomplished something. Saying "I hope you feel better" is better.
Gordon has been reviewing our PCs for 25 years. We painted the case on the cover of that Maximum PC issue Adam held up. To say we would not be where we are today without Gordon is not hyperbole. There is no bigger champion of enthusiast PCs, and his rants push our industry to be better every year. Stay strong Gordon!
From the moment I got the news about cancer, in one of the most uncommon places (sinus, below my left eye), to the moment I was cancer free, it was one of the hardest things to battle in my life. That was in 2011 and in 2019 I was officially free. Remember Gordon, we stand behind you and we will keep lifting you up. We all need to grieve the worst news and celebrate the small victories. When someone asks, now that I am soon turn 62, how my life has been - I say it is fantastic. No cancer and no heart attack, nothing will bring me down - keep looking for the silver lining. Even in the darkest hour, close your eyes and be thankful for what you have become and what legacy you leave behind. Cry when you must, laugh when you can.
Gordon, thank you for everything. This man is a legend. He was in Computer Chronicles in 2001 talking pc gaming with the OG Stewart Cheifet on PBS. He wrote at Maximum PC magazine and hosted the No BS Podcast. And this is only the stuff I remember off the top of my head. He's done us such a service over the decades - braving CES and Computex every freaking year, explaining usb like I'm 5, and being among the realist journalists to tech execs and industry insiders. Really, get rest and get better. You owe us nothing.
I have many fond memories of the No BS Podcast. And Gordon's Rant of the Week! I believe he was often upset about the size of coffee cups provided to use in the coffee vending machine...
@@dare2danGordon "Get off My Lawn" Mah Ung I didn't have Internet, so a months worth of podcasts coming on the MaximumPC CD was so enjoyable. I think I tuned in a bit after Phenom II. His jokes and rants were my favorite. I am in the process of recollecting all the CDs and the old podcasts.
Stay strong Gordon. Fighting Cancer is a long battle. You will get through this. You and those close to you will have ups and downs. Keep fighting you will get through this. My wife went through this and is clear so far.
❤❤ love you Gordon! You have always been really kind to me and always have had time to hang out with me in person and being able to call you a friend is an absolute honour. You are a legend in our industry and I told Klaire this a little while ago but I used to read your articles when I was in my late teens. Now I'm almost 40 and we are friends. That to me is insane. Adam you are a legend. I love you too mate, even if I have to look at the sky when talking to you because you're so tall.
Gordon, I think you and I are lucky enough to come from an age when computers came down from mainframe and minis to the PC. It was a great time for you to be in the industry and to cover it as a journalist. You are a respected figure even now, in these days of video streaming and the slow death of the print media. Of course, age catches up with us and health issues will become a greater part of life. I am saddened by the news of your cancer and I pray that you make a full recovery. I hope you will continue to mentor Adam and return to PC World full time as soon as you are ready. Thanks for coming back to share the news and I wish you well in your journey.
I still remember listening to the No BS podcast with MaximumPC. Your rant of the week was my favorite. Hope he gets through this so he can continue being Gordon Get Off My Lawn Mah Ung.
You have all our love and support, Gordon sir. Maxium PC and PC chronicals, was my era. Getting to have you here, has been the cream. Getting to expirience the man the myth and the LEDGEND. Wishing you and the whole family the best. Thru you, we are sharing our strength. Get well soon. And ty to all you have given to us over the years. It means, more than words can say. Much LOVE,sir.
Gordon. Hang in there! My wife and I are both cancer survivors. Chemo socks. (Whut?!?! Sucks... autocorrect still not working after all these years...) You are at the top of my reviewers list. You're honest and bring in the human element, not just numbers. Before you, I had Digital Dave, LOL. From ComputorEdge magazine in San Diego. But your contribution to the pc world is much appreciated. I never understood why the rest of your teammates didn't get your arguments at times. But they didn't live through the early years of the industry.

Best wishes to Gordon, hope you recover 100% We should make a Gordon Fund to Help the best we can. We miss you.
This show finally got me into the pc! I’m always amazed at what I can do with my computer and I love hearing y’all talk about it. I still have a Full Nerd book I won from when I first started listening and I display it on my shelf. I always look at it and remember this was when I really got into the pc and I’m so glad I did. I’ve missed you Gordon! It was good seeing you and hearing you on the show again! Please go with that idea of y’all looking through old mags and telling stories. Can’t wait to see you back on the show again! We love ya dude!!! ❤
Gordon is the best. He is usually the first to say hi at events, and I always appreciate his company. Despite being one of the pioneers of hardware reporting and having a wealth of knowledge, he always chooses to listen rather than offering his viewpoint. He never grabs the spotlight, instead giving everyone around him the same amount of attention. It is quite difficult to witness such a wonderful guy go through such a difficult test, but I have faith that he will come through it, and I wish him a rapid recovery.
So sorry you are going through this Gordon. I’ve been a fan and reading your articles since the Max Pc days in the 90s. The Full Nerd podcast has been making my commute enjoyable for years. Thank you for everything you have done for the PC community!
Wow.. Gordon I have been following you since I was 9 years old with Maximum PC, and when you were on PBS show...etc. . You are the MAN.. You made me cry... I am pulling for you to get through this so you can see all the latest greatest TECH for a long time to come. I look forward to following you for a long time yet.
Gordon I've been following your work since the 90s with MaximumPC, and you have consistently been a source of wisdom and joy. Your snarky sense of humor has always shown through everything and your writing back in the day was a huge motivation for me to get into the industry. Stay strong my friend. I pray you have the opportunity to be with us all for many years to come.
Hank Green just recovered from chemo and it sounded like the most excruciating thing in the world, but just that the alternative is worse. Definitely just focus for now on getting better. It's more important than youtube. Wishing you all the best, Gordon!
As happy as I am to see you on the video again - I am also very sorry to hear of the bad news and the difficulties you're going through - stay strong Gordon - you're the man! - pure love and support for you ❤
Gordon. Your articles and insights have kept me coming back to PC gaming and building for over 24 years. Grad school, kids, divorce, life's ups and downs; your articles were a gentle constant for our shared joy in PCs. Heck my kids are building their PCs as they prep for college. Thank you for your insights and professionalism. All the best and F* cancer. I hope you a full recovery!
Gordon you are awesome and wish you the best. I will be praying for you and hope you have a quick recovery and look forward to having you back on the show.
I am so glad to hear something about Gordon. I can relate to the cancer event because I was diagnosed with prostate cancer 4 years ago when I turned 65, one heckuva birthday present, and while I am clear of it for now I still have to keep watching out for it to return or to show up somewhere else.
Gordon, I first started listening to you about 10 years ago on the No BS Podcast and soon after subscribed to Maximum PC and have been listening to you ever since. Thanks for everything you do! Hang in there. Looking forward to having you back on the Full Nerd when you come out of this.
❤ Been following Gordon’s updates on PCs for roughly 20 years now. Nothing but love for you Gordon. Heart goes out to Gordon, his family, and the PCWorld family. Stay strong.
Once I saw the opening screen my heart sunk and I knew what was going on after seeing too much family deal with this over the years. As someone that's followed you for literally decades Gordon I can't pray enough for you. Every time you go on a rant you say _exactly_ what I'm already thinking. You're just as much of a grumpy old man as I am, and you're not only my favorite tech journalist, but my favorite journalist *_period._* Stay strong, and stay unfiltered.❤❤But you're wrong that sometimes there ARE tears in PC Building.
Gordon, thank you for sharing with your community. You are much loved by us, who watch you for years and have had the pleasure of interacting in chat and comments. You have been in my thoughts, even before I knew what I know now, and I look forward to seeing you back soon.
Gordon, cancer has touched my family and it's that fighting spirit and family that gets you through it. I'm not much of a religious guy, but you're in my thoughts and prayers. We're all sending lots of love and support to a person who has touched us so deeply with his reporting and love of the craft. Stay strong, brother - we're all with you. ❤
Hey Gordon, not sure if you’ll see this, but I just wanted to let you know you were my favorite editor at Maximum PC when I was growing up. You inspired me to build my first computer 20 years ago, and later to get a degree in computer engineering! Stay strong!
Watching this video was very hard for me. I've been a huge fan of Gordon for over 20 years. The best money I ever spent was my long term subscription to MaximumPC. I've read everything he has written, watched everything he has recorded. Gordon has taught me everything I know about the pc. I owe him a huge thank you. I doubt you will see this but if you do Gordon, thank you. I hope you will be back and healthy very soon. I miss you, we miss you. Gordon, king of the nerds!
I had cancer Gordon. Lost a bit of lung, had to have my diaphragm stapled to my chest wall, had my heart lining scraped out and stuck back together with Goretex, gruelling brutal chemo, radiotherapy too. It was dark and extremely hard but I made it and that was five years ago. I don't know the specifics of your cancer but I know that it can look bleak as hell but you can make it back. All the absolute very best.
Gordon thanks for coming back and sharing what you’re going through. You have impacted my life through this amazing hobby we share through your videos, reviews, and spicy opinions! I always look forward to your content. I will keep you and your family in my heart, thoughts, and prayers!
Gordon, I have been following your work for the past 17+ years, since I was a was teenager just learning about the magical world of computing. Stay strong! There's a whole world full of nerds that love having you in the community. Best wishes in your fight!
First personal comment ever here on TH-cam. I choke up immediately hearing Gordon said he had cancer. But yes, please stay strong and beat it, we all still want to see you give your insights to everything PC for many years to come!
Gordon, you’ve been missed as you are my favorite hardware reviewer and hearing this news I literally cried as this is too close to home, stay strong Gordon. I’m dealing with this in my spouse currently. It’s a challenge but winnable. Keep your strength and positive attitude as it’s a huge part of this battle. I hope you and your family stay strong and looking forward. Much love from a fan.
The world of PC is just not right without you Gordon. It was so courageous of you to come on and do this show - what a giant among us all! Wishing you all the best in your fight to beat that rotten disease. I for one are hoping like hell you are able to get back on the show and once again confuse us all with your contradictory perspectives which we all love. Gosh with Brad's fire and now this - just shows the quality of you all that you can deliver to your loyal fans with all the rubbish life has to throw at you. I salute you.
I rarely comment on videos but I would like to say that we all love you Gordon not only for your professional attributes but also your personality and character. Sending you lots of love and good will. We are looking forward to getting back when you are ready.
You make such an impact in the lives of the people around you, Gordon, and we're all pulling with you to get through this fight. You and D are always the first to step up to lend a hand, share your many talents (photo booths! kettle corn! event setup!), and you make things happen behind the scenes like magic. I'll never forget the graduation day when I discovered that you'd snuck into the restroom with the tools to fix a door that always slammed shut with a loud crash. Everywhere you go, you make things better. Quietly and without fanfare, just because it's who you are. You make such a difference in this world. You've always been there for your overlapping communities, and we're here for you and your beautiful family however you need us. Much love and well wishes to you, my friend!
I used to watch you at maximum PC and followed you to PC world, I wanted to thank you for so many years of entertainment and to let you know that we all love you brother.
I have lost family members to that garabage also known as cancer. Their fate will not be yours Gordon, you will fight, you will feel like a leaf in a furnace at times but you will get through it. You are in my thoughts, looking forward to the day you get to say that you are cancer free ❤ Peace and all the love to you and yours Gordon
Best to you and your family. Glad to see you again on The Full Nerd, let us here at PCPer know if you need anything. Also, a good reminder that many of us are human and not omniscient beings when it comes to the industry we cover (and love). Take care, friend.
Gordon, I’m sorry to hear that you’re facing this difficult situation. As a member of your PC nerd community, I’d like to say we’re pulling for you and hope you get the best treatment possible and that your health can be restored. Good bless!
i was shocked to hear the news, Gordon you have been a part of our lives for so long and we have utmost respect and admiration... please stay strong... you just reminded me of my sister who just passed away just this July, she was 47 and lost from cervical cancer but Gordon's tough, strong and staunch... you have our full support Sir... please stay strong and looking forward to seeing you back in the channel for at least another 100years at least... ❤❤❤
Stay strong Gordon as difficult as it may be and have faith!! Your honesty regarding your personal issue really hit home with me as I am myself dealing with cancer as well. When you broke down, I really felt your pain! Thank you for coming on the show to share your current struggles with your many, many fans. Sending prayers and positive vibes your way!! 👍😀
Best wishes Gordon, we all miss you and I hope you stomp out this cancer, take care and definitely focus on your recovery. We’ll be here when you’re ready. Keep up the fight.
I have been an avid reader/listener of Gordon's since the late 90s and Maximum PC. It was one of the few magazines I would buy each month. Get well Gordon! Best wishes from Japan
ooo Man Gordon!! Sorry to hear and I wish you all the best, wishing you a healthy recovery! I am sure you have seen it but remember there is a whole community here! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family...all the best for you on this road/fight ahead!
Wishing you a speedy recovery Gordon. You have a lot of nerds rooting for you. Honestly you have been someone I have respected in this community for a very long time. Hope you come back soon.
I'm so sorry Gordon. I've been a listener of yours for years and years. I have hope you'll kick this and look forward to you being back. This is a part of all ours future unfortunately, It must be incredibly difficult what you and your family are going thru. You've got this my friend. We hope for a swift recovery.🙏🙏🙏
I've been a long time reader of Maximum PC, and just happened to start reading it again digitally as I just realized today that they are no longer publishing a printed version of the magazine. My wife was wondering about you as she loved your take on things back when you were the editor, so thank goodness you have this podcast so we could find you! Great to find you again but sorry to hear about your current situation. Thanks for sharing Gordon, good luck to you and we all wish you well.
I have been following Gordon since the late 90's, and he is the wise voice in the darkness of tech. Get well soon, and know that we have all the love in the world for you.
It’s so selfish of me, but I only recently discovered Gordon and PCworld and am flabbergasted to see you dealing with a tough diagnosis so “soon”. Best wishes man, I love your take and the energy you bring to the space!
Stay strong Gordon. Been watching The Full Nerd for years now and you've brought me so many smiles and laughs. Can't wait for you to be back at full strength 💪❤️
Stay strong Gordon...been going through the cancer diagnosis with my wife. Very long road. Chemo, radiation, surgeries and numerous visits to the doctor. The road is hard, but the road at least is a road that has many great people that will help you along the way. Look forward to hearing about your progress. There are plenty of ups and downs but like you said you will cross that finish line!
Dam Gordon I had a suspicion it was health related when they ignored my question " Where's Gordon" So sorry to hear that, keep the faith & keep fighting!
Gordon, my first TH-cam comment. I know what you’re going through, stay strong and I recommend flat ginger beer to help with side effects. Look forward to hearing you’ve beat it
Damn gordon it is so good to see you and we are all thinking of you and rooting for you, you are gonna beat this! Get well soon, and props to you for coming on to talk about this, that must have been hard. Youre the best!!
Thanks for sharing with us Gordon, as you can tell from all the comments, we all care about you and want to support you however we can! Take care of yourself!!
Go kick ass Gordan!!! We support and love you. You have always been one of my favorites in the tech space. I look forward to watching you when you recover.
Gordon you’re genuinely the opinion I value most when it comes to PC matters. Stay strong and I looking forward to seeing you online for many years to come. Love and thoughts from Australia.

You are in my thoughts, looking forward to the day you get to say that you are cancer free ❤
Peace and all the love to you and yours Gordon
Best to you and your family. Glad to see you again on The Full Nerd, let us here at PCPer know if you need anything. Also, a good reminder that many of us are human and not omniscient beings when it comes to the industry we cover (and love). Take care, friend.
Good luck Gordon, all my best wishes to you getting well asap. Take care always. We all miss you !

Best wishes to you and your family, Gordon. We definitely do care. You've got this and will get through this.
