- Danai Gurira and Andrew Lincoln have returned to “The Walking Dead” universe with AMC's “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.” debuting on both AMC and AMC+. The actors and executive producers spoke with AP entertainment reporter Alicia Rancilio about the rise of Richonne in the sixth spin-off of the original show.

Andy and Danai give off major Married Couple vibes the way they read each other, overtalk each other in conversation, and are hyper-aware and sensitive to each other's needs. Love them. I hope they find other projects to work on together. 💞

Andy kept suggesting that Danai first noticed their chemistry, when it was actually all initiated by him. He referred to Danai as his leading lady; he told her it felt like just the the 2 of them in that Merle scene; he looked her up & down in the S3 prison scene (1st of many) - Norman just pointed out what we all saw; and he did all that campaigning through his mother. I remember reading how excited he was when he knew that Danai was joining the cast.

Andrew seems like the most sweet down to earth guy that I don’t see in Hollywood much. His character of Rick grimes is so drastically different than what I see in his interviews. From his voice , mannerisms etc. his acting in TWD is just phenomenal. He has to win an award for TOWL . I def see it

I was there with Norman and Yvette at season 3 shipping Richonne. Who could deny this chemistry? Even after years apart, this entire interview gave such a longtime married couple energy, ughhhh
Rick said in a recent interview, that he fell in love with Michonne in season 3, and he finally came clean and said he was checking her out in the prison when she walked off like Daryl said. Michonne said she fell for Rick when he bit that guy in the neck lol.
Crazy how tough and rugged Rick Grimes is, but Andrew Lincoln is none of those things. Very stark contrast. What an Amazing actor. This guy would never harm anyone!

Lincoln is a phenomenal actor, but his connection to Danai as his on-screen/work wife and Chandler Riggs as his on-screen/work son was starting to overshadow his real life family (who he rarely saw, being on a different continent).

13:16 is my favorite part because she's like "Mm mm" when he's like, "Did I not answer her question?" and it's so like someone would do their spouse, just be like "No" and keep talking. 😂 I love their comfort with each other. Reminds me of me with my bestie. I hope they spend time together as friends even when they're not working on stuff together. That connection is not to be wasted. It's priceless.

Same. It's also reminding me of when TOWL was first introduced at Comicon in 2022. Andy made the comment, "I can't wait to get my cowboy boots back on and get the band back together." Danai, in fact, had to remind him that the two of them had to find each other first. All of this, and Andy's tendency to almost drop some spoilers, leaves me encouraged.
You guys didn’t hear how Gimple is thinking about putting the world together again and have a Negan , Daryl and Grimes , michonne meet up again. I kind of think that answers the question I have had wondering if michonne and Rick make it at the end of these 6 episodes

He’s talking about Frank Darabont. Frank was the original show runner. He’s the reason we even have the TWD show. AMC fired him unceremoniously and many of the actors, crew members and fans were and are still very upset over it.

This interview just confirms even more that this is only a 6 episode mini series & the end of both Rick & Michonnes characters in TWDU. Andrew says we knew that it would be 6 hours and that it would culminate with an end in a larger scale but also an end for the Richonne story. I think this means we may see a larger scale end story or their parts in the actual endgame. Either way this is def only 6 episodes & the end for them 😢
I’m getting a bit tired of hearing other fans/youtubers/reacters saying this is going to be a couple seasons & we will see them again, etc. It is just too much to hope for imo. Believe me, I wish I am wrong but all their interviews seem to be pretty up front about it.
