    STORYLINE:
Thailand on Monday released five Malaysian soldiers who were detained three days earlier after straying into a southern Thai village near the border.
Commander of the 4th Army, which controls southern Thailand, Lieutenant General Pisarn Wattanawongkhiri, said a Malaysian army general took custody of the soldiers after confirming their identities and returned home with them.
Pisarn said the soldiers were released after their commander confirmed their status and apologised for their wandering into our territory with firearms.
He said the Malaysians were detained after they gave suspiciously different reasons for their presence.
The five soldiers, armed with two M-203 light machine guns, were picked up in Thanto district of southern Thailand''s Yala province late Thursday, Thai military officials said.
A Thai army statement said, "In order to maintain good relationship among the members of both countries along the border ... (the Thai army) concluded that it is appropriate to hand over the five Malaysian soldiers."
Malaysia says the five were members of a platoon deployed to tighten border security following a spate of attacks in southern Thailand blamed on Islamic separatists.
Thailand says the militants often cross the porous border to take refuge in Malaysia, a claim Kuala Lumpur has rejected.
One of the soldiers, Abdul Halim, said he was happy about going home.
The release took place as Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra travelled to Malaysia Monday to discuss the recent violence with his counterpart, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

This video has nothing to do with southern Thailand's insurgencies, just four Malaysian troops claimed that they were indeliberately crossing over Thai border. They are men from 10th. battalion, Royal Malay Regiment based at Majidee Camp, Johore Bahru.

chula Of course their land. Their states was under your kingdom influence doesnt mean it was one of your kingdom official territories. If we follow your logic basically greece can claim land that was submitted under Alexander. Or China/Japan can claim whole SEA because SEA used to be under influence of those countries.

You have no experience to fight face to face with TNI. Remember your mother British SAS, BIA [Gurkha], Ausy SARS, ANZAC, etc who protect you to defend a new country concept from confrontation with TNI in 1960s while you do nothing cause lack of skill.
