  • Session 19: features Pittsburgh most soulful and talented, Sierra Sellers with a powerhouse of local talents. Remy Vega on the keys, Roger Romero on the Sax, Denzel Chismar-Oliver providing the bass, and Eddan Sparks beating the drums.
Ms. Sellers came with some serious heat for this one, covering the song "Didn't Cha Know" by the legendary Eryka Badu, and blowing her original out of the water! Sierra's voice is like a kiss from an angel, and her style is uniquely her own.
Her song "Cookout" has you feeling a taste of her sassy attitude with the line " You ain't invited," but luckily you are invited to check out this session, and all her other music as well.
If you vibe with her music you can DEFINITELY find more of her work here: open.spotify.com/artist/3CX8I...
A very special thank you to Chris Galiyas, for not only painting in this video but for inviting us to his home to film inside of his HAND BUILT Greenhouse. The vibes wouldn't be this dope without him!
Shoutout to Drew Bayura for providing the audio engineering on this session. Without him this video wouldn't sound so crisp!
Thank you to Stoney's Beer for once again providing the drinks for this session, and helping to create the vibes with their Pure, Honest, and Refreshing beer.
Studio Friendship is not only the working studio of Pittsburgh-based artist, Zachary J. Rutter, but also a place for people to come together to COLLABORATE and make beautiful things happen.
Each session is filmed in two parts featuring a different musician with LIVE painting by the artist. The first part is an original song written and performed by the musician while the second part is a cover of the musicians choosing.

The obvious jazz addition is all Erykah, well done. Remember If you made a wrong turn you would feel confused or uncertain

The essence of the song is the alliteration of the “there/where” rhyme. To gloss over it ruins the song. Could you do this over and articulate the hook in time?

Wish she sang more articulated. Short. Quirky. And sassy. Like Erykah. As apposed to trying to sing it "perfectly".
