The twisting action of wringing laundry breaks fibers. I suggest squeezing laundry instead. Squeezing is more work and does not remove as much water, but the clothes last longer.
    Thanks for the video.

There's a handy device ontop of older washing machines : an old fashioned manual hand crank 'ringer-outer'.. keep your eyes open in the islands and or on eBay for one... They also make round plastic wash tumblers but they are bulky to tuck away.. bet you have the cleanest feet on the boat SIERRA!! keep up the great work. thrilled to join the adventure...

Also known as a 'mangle'. Watch your fingers when using one.
(And carefull other things don't get caught. There's a relevant old Cockney phrase "I haven't laughed so much since Ma caught 'er t**s in the mangle!")

@11:50; A quick tip; Get a biggish rectangular tub and fill it with enough water, some detergent and not too much washing and leave it at one end of the boat (Bow, or stern) whilst your on passage (Ideally in a head sea), leave it for as long as possible (Preferably two to three days) and the rocking and pitching of the boat works wonders to get everything AMAZINGLY clean! You will honestly be amazed!!!

Taking your wringing idea further. Take the piece you want to wring. You have a nice white pole near where you were doing washing. Wrap the towel etc around the pole bring the ends together. Now start turning just like you were doing standing on the end of the towel. I hope I have explained myself. But only do it on a strong pole. The force can be great.

There are several manual washers available which makes quick work of a nasty task. Some examples are the Lavario, the Wanderwash (Wonderwash?), and the Laundry Pod. The good news is that they are relatively inexpensive. More good news is that they work surprisingly well. The bad news is that their capacities are very limited and they take up a lot of storage space. I used a Wanderwash for years until it was destroyed in a fire.
Another alternative is to buy a commercial salad dryer/salad spinner from a restaurant supply store. They usually come in two sizes-2.5 gallons and 5 gallons (approximately 9.5 Liters and 19 liters respectively). Some are available with stands complete with suction cup feet and change gears for spinning at different speeds. Also great for preparing salad for 50 people.

I've been watching a bunch of your videos lately and I've been captivated by the scenery, the adventure, and freedom of going where you want when you want, as well as your challenges along the way. I think one of the many things keeping me watching our videos is your TEAMWORK! You are true partners in crime and it reminds me so much of me and my lady Sharon. Additionally, I keep watching because there is always a pleasant demeanor between you two and the way you guys treat each other is inspiring and just great to see. I love that you get along so well, just like us, and you enjoy life TOGETHER! Tough to find that these days. We will, at some point, see you guys out there in some far away anchorage as we have decided to do the same thing. We are going sailing! Keep going guys, sail hard, play hard, work hard, and we'll see you out there someday!
P.S. Here's a little video idea that I'd love to see out there. We love our "Happy Hours" and we love to find the best out-of-the-way beachfront Cabanas and report on them. Maybe you could do a little segment on as many Caribbean beachfront Cabana's and bars and give us some feedback! That would be cool.

All Is Lost is a 2013 survival drama film written and directed by J. C. Chandor. The film stars Robert Redford as a man lost at sea after his yacht was disabled by a cargo container. that pierced his hull below the waterline. Redford is the only cast member, and the film has very few spoken words, it was a very depressing movie. My Australian friend had his yacht (a sister yacht to mine) hulled below the waterline when a fishing vessel collided into him at night off the coast of Chile but fortunately he had two bilge pumps which did not fail, but that was the only reason his yacht did not sink and he managed to limp into the nearest port for massive fibreglass and reinforcement repairs. When I make voyages again (after COVID), I intend to install a turtle-pac (an inflatable bag in the cabin to displace internal water and restore the yacht to positive bouyancy), a product developed by an innovative Australian Manufacturer on the Gold Coast, so even if I am hulled and pouring in water that even my bilge pump cannot handle, I can still make passage to safety. I don't care about the yacht, it is cheap enough to replace (almost self insured by how easy it is to replace) but everything bad that happens at sea, happens at the worst possible moment in the worst possible conditions.
