  • Using a LoZ meter, such as the Klein CL800, you can easily detect ghost voltages and compromised voltage sources. What are ghost voltages and compromised voltage sources? Link to multimeter: amzn.to/45mtBJs . To donate to The Tech Circuit, click here: techcircuit.or...

It would be interesting to see this function to measure phase to ground in an isolation transformer

thanks, the sentence is confusing, "sometimes....even have leakage current through a high resistance..." Length of wire make more resistance to electrical flow, right? How can something that "Resists" electricity flow "higher" than other things, allow leakage? Leakage occurs when something has Low resistance? V=ir. Should the sentence say, "sometimes...even have leakage current through a something that has very low resistance..."?

Another use is testing earth leakage breaker function by measuring voltage across live and earth. A LoZ meter should trip the earth leakage breaker.

True that it will trip a GFCI, but cannot be said to test it. On a 120v circuit, the 3200k ohm LoZ mode will cause 38mA to pass from line to ground - which is way above the trip threshold of the GFCI. Properly testing a GFCI would be ensuring it trips at the threshold current which is around 6mA.

@@TheTechCircuit agree. It’s useful only to see if there is some type of protection there, not to fully test that it is operating to spec.
