Nice to hear the praises of the FG300. I've had mine for 52 years and it's an old friend. Still my main gig guitar. Beautiful made instrument.

Your song honestly made me cry.. and have such a vivid flashback of my father 😀🥰🙏🙏.......I inherited my dads red label fg-300 at 12 years old when he passed away...I learned to play the best to my abilities I am 30 now...I haven't heard a voice like my fathers in so long I had almost forgotten it. Thank you so much for this video and for reminding me how beautiful these old guitars can sound when someone knows how to play it perfectly!!!!! Please post some more music playing your Yamaha if you have the time and wouldn't mind sir...I wish you the absolute best in life and health and happiness....thank you again so much!!!

I bought my FG 300 in 1970 . $200 with case. Used it for gigging and recording. Wonderful guitar. I'll give it to one of my grandsons when I go!

Great job, I have 2 of these red label fg300's, and I wouldn't trade them for the world! I love the song!

Got my Gakki FG-300 about a decade ago... I stopped in at my favorite mom and pop shop and found them dealing with a huge pile of gear that they had just purchased as a lot... An FG-300 appeared, in fair shape... some dings, but with the big ol' pickguard fully intact... had a big bump in the top behind the bridge, which is pretty normal on old guitars... I didn't know about these "red label" guitars at the time, but this one got my spidey-senses going... So rather than allow him to evaluate further, I asked what he'd take "as is"... He said "mmm... that's probably worth something.... how's $150?" I countered at $135... and with that we had a deal... I put a bridge doctor in... Incredibly, I doubt it will ever need a neck reset... Really impressive and unusual for a 50+ year-old guitar... I have had it bashed by purists for being entirely laminate, which it is... but it sounds huge and incredible, so it just doesn't matter sometimes... It just doesn't... My adult daughter told me that I can't ever sell it... In a house full of guitars, that's saying something... LOL

Great sounding guitar.I have just purchased one at a great price and know I have a wonderful instrument which is going to please me for decades.I am very happy with this Yamaha.Knocks the socks off other major brands and that not cheap talk,it's a fact because I played them all against this and still enjoyed the Red Label 300 the most. The sound is exhilarating and the build quality is impeccable.
    Man what a guitar 🎸 😍

Came here because I've just seen an FG300 for sale (a lot of money for me) and can't decide whether to buy it as I have my beautiful 1969/70 FG140. First you said just buy it and then you played that brilliant song. Now I'm in trouble.

I have a FG360 made in Japan that I bought back in 1973. It stills sounds and looks great. Glad I took real good care of it all those years ago.

It was the first acoustic I learned to play. ( It was my dad's guitar which he bought new back in 1968! )

My son has mine. Bought new in 1969. The pickguard came off in the 1990s. It's ben a workhorse guitar and it shows wear. The adjustable bridge is impossible to replace. I played it a few years ago, reuniting with this old friend and it still sounds very good.

Thanks for your great comment! What a great story about your guitar, but everything about a guitar can be fixed. There will be more vintage guitar videos in the future!

Is this model slightly larger than a traditional sized dreadnaught? The lower bout does look wider to me, perhaps it is not.

Don't be crazy if you do anything get insurance on the guitar.....keep it learn to play !!! Pass the knowledge down along with the priceless instrument....don't ever sell a family heirloom like that the few dollars you get will only cause problems and regret in the long run

I bought this guitar 4 years ago...for 300$. I will say it needed a week of work that cost me 600$. But i got new frets, handmade new bridge pieces for that odd adjustible saddle...new bone nut. Sounds really good....has hummingbird pic also ....think its a 1970.
