Before using a new electrical appliance, I like to let it heat on its own for a while to burn off that chemical odor. My understanding is that odor is residual oil from the manufacturing process. Grilled cheese using mayo instead of butter works great!
I especially like the adjustable heat contol. It actually simmers well. I was surprised at the long-term life use of the product. I've had mine for several years now, still works great!
Mine started peeling after two-three months. First the sides, now the bottom. I had read that peeling is a common problem with these so I paid Walmart an extra $2 for the extended warranty.
Got so many of these products I live alone and they are great. I got a mini deep fryer, skillet, sandwich maker, noodle cooker, waffle , quesadilla maker and a round small griddle
When you do mini type appliance try to include the wattage information, that tends to help the van lifers who use power stations to operate these little guys.
I haven't used mine yet. Great demonstration! Your thorough explanations are very useful. As an inexperienced cook myself, this instruction is wonderful. You have such a great attitude too. Thank you for the video! ❤❤❤❤
Glad it was helpful! Thanks so much for your kind comments. I have used this little skillet everyday since I made this video. Super easy to clean and works great. Thanks again. I will try to post another Mymini next week. Keep on the lookout. :)
For me, I believe I would choose to wash & rinse the 'never-used' skillet in hot soapy water first..I believe most 'enclosed instructions' advise or recommend this safety-first step. Yes, wash & rinse and then thoroughly dry before the first use; thank you.
Thx for vid. I’ve been looking for one of these for solo camping as well as cooking for one at home. I know all about toxic pans but not really concerned considering the food we eat and the air we breathe.
Great review. Love the demonstrations. On a side note. I thing a pre heat is necessary for the "toxic" materials. And a few good wash and rinses. Great video tho. ❤❤🎉🎉
Good presentation. Much healthier doing french fries in the air fryer and safer no dealing with hot oil. Probably csn do the sausages, no oil , healthier. Tho i dont know if eggs can be fried maybe a special attachment or cant bd done in an air fryer.
Everything is toxic (air, water, food etc etc etc). Im 76 & have beening using mini products awhile. I dont worry about ppl saying this & that is toxic. All food in grocery store is toxic & bad 4 us. Ok weĺl
I think once you hit a certain age , it's more about quality of life and indulging once in a while...and watching out for a some one yelling "look out BUS!!!" when you step off the curb.
I grew up eating from my mom’s beloved skillet and used one myself for last 50 years. Not dead yet. My saving grace is all the fresh veggies I ate as a child. I think everything you put in your mouth these days are toxic. I throw pans away when they get worn or scratched.

That is great to know that it is durable. Thanks for commenting!

My mini has a deep fryer also by that brand and it works wonderful too for frying wings and french fries and onion rings, because I have one.
I have a video on my channel about the deep fryer too. I love it too. Thanks for commenting. 😍
I'm going to use my white out pen to paint the little arrow on the dial so I can see it easier.

Great point! Thanks for the tips! Thanks for watching!
Gr8 video and review, just wish I could watch it horizontal instead of vertical. It just takes away from the viewing presentation.
Tried to buy at my Walmart tonight, and it was on a recall or something. Will try again another time...
I like that I don't have to clean the stove everytime
I have been looking for a review of this skillet since I got it. Thanks for the video and cooking ideas.😋
Thanks so much for watching. I still use this to this day.
Great review, I've been looking to purchase one, now I'm definitely getting it 👍
Hope you enjoy it!
Btw I’ve never heard of using mayo instead of butter..gonna try it next time I get a hankering for grilled cheese!
It's a game changer for grilled sandwiches. We use just a very light amount basically scraped on. Much less than she used. Try it on hamburger buns.😊

Nice video! Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
i put the mayo on the top piece after i put it in the sandwich

Umm, this skillet is convenient, but it isn't a healthy cooking vessel. The chemicals used in production are toxic.
Thanks so much. I will definitely keep an eye out and use in moderation.
Do you have carpet in your home? Toxic! Do you breathe? Our air is all Toxic! You cannot avoid toxins, they are everywhere.
Food looks great but that skillet is toxic.
Thanks so much for the heads up. I appreciate it. More research is definitely warranted on my part.

Everything today is toxic, carpeting, the air we breathe our fluoridated water it is everywhere!
