Grant Kirkhope is a musical genius when it comes to memorable videogame soundtracks. He also did Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Donkey Kong 64... Seriously he was the composer of the N64 generation.

@@waddleds665 I guess since 2009ish. Before that we all agreed the game and the rap were ace. It was around that time that youtubers started ripping on the song and the game. Caught on around 2012. I'm sure since the mario movie that there's a lot more love. But at one point the composer had publicly apologized for the rap in response to all the hate.

Grant Kirkhope is a musical genius and had an influence on me as a musician. He's the reason I love atmospheric soundscapes so much.
I love winter in this stage like i love winter in real life.
The spring one brings tears of joy to me! I fucking love this game!
I always noticed the bees being part of the melody in summer but never took the time to think about how creatively smart that it was.
- Spring is so upbeat and cheerful, with different instruments playing and animals singing along. So much is going on. Flowers are blooming and nature is at its peak.
- Summer is quieter. The slower tempo and the noisy buzzing bees give you the feeling of an enduring hot weather, but the waltz invites you to relax and enjoy it.
- Autumn starts in a somewhat minimalistic way, as if it was a tree whose leaves are falling off. The days are not as sunny and animals that thrive in the night sing happily, while the beauty of a weather that is neither too hot nor too cold can be felt with the tender violin section.
- Winter takes a more serene approach. Animals are not singing since they're hibernating, or they migrated. Instead, a warm rhythmic snapping is heard to cheer you up to endure and, why not, find pleasure in the cold weather.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, these songs were part of my childhood aswell so I had to upload them, so many memories I still have my n64 and this game to this day and I still play it constantly, they just don't make games like these nowadays
Fully agree. There is a certain passion to N64 games.
Sure not everyone of them follow that passion, but the ones who do... man alive.

It's excellent for sure but it was done in Super Mario World first.

I like how spring has the most energy, and they each consecutively have less afterwards, gives the feeling everything woke up and grew in spring and then start to settle down to relax and sleep during winter
Nobody could touch Rare in the 90s
I still sing this sing in my head regularly. The ambient and animal sounds make for such good music.
This has quickly become my favorite theme in Rare games. All the variation in instruments, rythm, and the animal noices.
A lot of passion went into this
I remember as a kid this level had me stuck. I kept sliding off while going up the tree. I came back from school and my mom told me my sister figured it out. I wasn’t using the talon trot skill 😅
Sadly I didn’t grow up with banjo kazooie, but I somewhat recently got into it and love it. The soundtrack is amazing, I want to adapt all these songs to be playable on my instrument
I played on the Xbox 360
I only knew of Banjo Kazooie growing up in the 90s but was preoccupied with other N64 hits. However, getting a Nintendo Switch this past Xmas granted me easy access to this masterpiece with their online services.
i can't help but kinda dance to each of these songs. I love the vibe from this level (i beat the game today! 10-6-24) especially Autumn, its my favorite season in the game and in real life, so many pretty colors snd cozy feelings and Halloween!

I do love click clock wood it's one of my favorite levels of the whole game i even have the spring , summer and fall set for my ringtone 😊

Every aspect of this game is incredible. That’s not nostalgia talkin. I’m definitely not as good as I was when I was younger. 😂 Grant Is a beast and his music adds an incredible layer to the game. Groovey and goofily charming.

I got as far as Bubble Gloop Swamp cuz I sucked at this game when I was a kid. I've been watching an LP on it. I fell in love with this music. After xmas I plan to get an N64 and BK 1 and 2 and see if I can actually play it now that I'm older.
