Really enjoyed this one - all of your episodes are fantastic. Beautifully edited and narrated with great footage. I fell in love with F1 watching an ESPN broadcast (with Jackie Stewart) of the 1983 Belgian GP. Prost won the race amid lots of attrition. Andrea DeCesaris was leading until his Alfa gave up the fight if I recall correctly. 80's were a glorious time for F1.
    Thanks again.

I've always loved the Renault cars simply because my favourite colour is yellow. The combination of bright yellow, black and white looks awesome from the cars of the 1970's and 80's. It would be nice if todays modern Renault F1 cars had some white in the livery. My favourite was the 1982 RE30B ground effect car. The cars from that era looked gorgeous when running without front wings. Massive amounts of downforce from the ground effect venturi tunnels.
Second favourite has to be the famous black and gold John Player Special Lotus cars, again my favourite was from 1982, the Lotus 91.

The RS01 through to the RE60 are all fantastic looking cars from both livery and design standpoint - although I didn't like the full span front wing mounting at the tip of the nose as it did in the earlier RE30 model.

@@ΚωνσταντίνοςΚωνσταντίνου-θ1ψ Yeah I hear you - but just from a looks standpoint I prefer the RE30B's more traditional front wing in 2 pieces either side of the nose, as opposed to the RE30A's 1 piece wing sprouting from the tip of the nose; although that said it's still a great looking car.

Minor nit-pick: Always thought Team Lotus was the Fernandes Lotus/Caterham team's thing as he had bought the rights, rather than Proton Lotus who had pulled out of that team earlier, hence why in 2011 we had 2 Lotus Renault teams which was obviously clear as muck and probably why Fernandes then bought Caterham for a less obscured team title, but I'm sure you've researched this more thoroughly than me, I must have missed something

I read somewhere that this yellow colour appeared in 1946, during the nationalization. At this time, Renault sold the Renault 4CV on the market with a distinctive yellow colour. They used a paint previously used by the german Afrikakorps which was taken as war reparations. Cannot guaranty the veracity of this, but the 4CV was indeed yellow, and nicknamed the « lump of butter ».
