I lived in Memphis a very long time and it looks like my most prosperous years were the one when I lived there. And I never got rich mind you but I wasn't always broke either. For now, I'm stuck here with family and hope to go back to Memphis, and if I'm more successful than I was last time, maybe I'll end up in one of the suburbs. Considering I live in Tennessee, Franklin is not the best place to live, it’s near Nashville and if not peaceful at all. Although, West Tennessee is beautiful with incredibly nice people, little poor. Middle Tennessee is nice, and East Tennessee is so beautiful, Gatlinburg, Dollywood, etc. are beautiful places with beautiful mountains.
What about the small towns and not the big cities? All of them may have entertainment but us small towns have our own enjoyment, the woods and lakes to fish in. The heat may get ya but you'll get used to it. The rain may also get you, but the wonderful smell of the ground and water is amazing. Most people just think of Tennessee as a state of crime, high taxes and trash but really it's beautiful once you reach the country part.

I moved from Mount Juliet because the police don't catch criminals, but more law abiding citizens with a high priced ticket. I know of someone that tried to kill her mom in June, and put her mother in the hospital. The police wrote 2 infactual things on the police report before my mother could defend herself after being in the hospital for more than a month, and closed the case immediately. The police will pull the more law abiding people over and physically abuse them. It happened to me and a lot of other people say the same thing, too. All you see are blue lights from police when you go in. I know of other instances where the police department doesn't take crime seriously. The traffic is also awful, and especially close to the interstate. You can be obeying the laws and get pulled over if the police have no one breaking laws. They also are especially arrogant after they beat someone they pull over for no reason. There could be a cleaning out of the police department one day if people stand up against the tyrany like in Lakewood, TN close by. I remember when the population was a small fraction 35 years ago, and don't see the uncool welcome there, so I moved my good law abiding self out. I think the reason crime rate is low is because police close cases, don't catch criminals, and harass non criminals to say crime rate is low.

It is true: 100 people per day move to Nashville. Most live in the surrounding suburbs of Murfreesboro, Franklin, Mt. Juliet, Hendersonville, Goodlettsville, Nolensville, and Brentwood. Those aren’t really their own places but just sprawling outcrops of Nashville’s metro area. Signal Mountain and Collegedale are part of Chattanooga really. Germantown, Bartlett, and Collierville are part of Memphis. 💁🏼♂️ How about add Knoxville, Dandridge, and Cookeville.
Nashville is going to eat itself alive with the mass exodus of people moving there. Horrible traffic, high rent, insurance rates going up, and a 10 percent state sales tax. Yep! Sounds like a Republicant Mecca to me.
I don't blame you for wanting to get out of New York but please don't make the mistake I did by moving to TN. It's the worst place in the nation! The roads are bad, littered, and filthy, the sales tax is super high (almost 10%) the people are totally uneducated, total bible hicks, it rains 340 days a year (no lie) and if the bugs don't get you the bad air will. Good luck to you! Tennesseans hate people from New York - “Yankees”. It’s as if the Civil War never really ended for them. It’s truly bizarre! I blame it on a lack of genetic diversity and the resulting deleterious effects on cognition. 😂
@@ganymeade5151 Totally disagree. It's a beautiful city on high bluffs over looking the River, beautiful tree lined streets. Not plastic and trashy like Trashville.

Yeah so Collegedale and Signal Mountain are not cities lol, they’re both technically in Chattanooga. Im from Ooltewah, which is also a part of Chattanooga. It is a decent place to live if you’re in the richer parts, but I wouldn’t be caught downtown at night, we have one of the worst crime rates there. Chattanooga has come a long way, but certain parts of the community that are not as rich are neglected, and often ignored. There’s far higher crime rates there than they will tell you, less funding for schools, and much higher crime rates.
I live in gleason tn you may of never herd of it but theres BARLY NO CRIME last time someone caused trouble was a kid popping tires a few days later they caught him he was in my grade 5th grade and still in juvi

Yeah..people are pouring into Murfreesboro from Memphis to get away from all the crime there and because of all the jobs here
Yes Memphis is the city. Those are not considered cities so that’s why I was confused. Memphis is bad, but the county & outskirts are great!

the only bad thing about collierville is the house prices. we're nothing like memphis

Nashville is going to eat itself alive with the mass exodus of people moving there. Horrible traffic, high rent, insurance rates going up, and a 10 percent state sales tax. Yep! Sounds like a Republicant Mecca to me.
I love mount Juliet
I'm glad the city that I live in is not mentioned here.
I’m thinking Tennessee at some point New York State really sucks !! It’s going to happen soon?
Collegedale is a small play but is like 10 minutes from Chattanooga. Little Debbie snacks are made in collegedale.
Stay away!
I live here in the Bible Belt Buckle State. Germantown, Bartlette, and Collierville are all three basically the same thing as Memphis. Memphis is a lawless cesspool of human waste. It is a vile and disgusting city that can best be described by renting and watching "The purge"! It should be burned down to the ground.
Good luck to you! Tennesseans hate people from New York - “Yankees”. It’s as if the Civil War never really ended for them. It’s truly bizarre! I blame it on a lack of genetic diversity and the resulting deleterious effects on cognition. 😂
I guess the rest of West Tennessee sucks when all three of the choices come from the Memphis area.
Avoid Memphis if you can. Great home prices but ugly city with lots of poverty and crime. Memphis has been ruined, sadly.
@@ganymeade5151 Totally disagree. It's a beautiful city on high bluffs over looking the River, beautiful tree lined streets. Not plastic and trashy like Trashville.
I must say, you miss Pleasant View, close to everywhere, i.e. Clarksville, Nashville, Springfield and Ashland City. Crime rate is really low.....and if you are not working, your lazy or retired!
Dang, no Murfreesboro
You called Signal mountain Signal Hill but I think we knew what you meant 😀
I live in the Brentwood in California
Franklin is falling downhill lately. There was a robbery in the Bank of America in the one on Murfreesboro Road.
Idc if im not in the best places in Tn I still live in the best damn state either way
bartlett for city people and millington for country people!
Gatlinburg
That’s a joke, right? 🙄🤢
Such a cool place
Loved living there for 5 years
I love Gatlinburg but would not want to live there. Visit often yes, live there no way
