I appreciate the video, I'm getting ready to replace mine and had worked on the older Big Cam 855 series but not yet the N-14. It's nice to actually see where the thermostat housing is and a little instruction before I tear into something unknown to me. Thanks, I was really surprised to find ANY video with the search term "replace thermostats in N-14 Cummins" but there you were !!

Actually, open the bleed petcock and fill the system with coolant before you start the engine. Once you start getting coolant from the bleed valve, close it and continue filling the system. Run the engine up to temp, allow it to cool and check for proper level once again.. I'm glad you like the videos.

There should be an air bleed petcock on top of the upper radiator hose assembly.

@twistedbigdaddy At about 3:13 into the video to about 3:18 I point out the supply to the compressor head. That tube is from the bottom of the housing to the water pump. This is where the two o rings go. The tube is sealed on both ends by those o rings and held in place when the thermostat housing is reinstalled.

How did you get that tube out? I need to replace the O ring at the housing. Its leaking.

Do the coolant tubes just sit in place? My o ring is leaking. I had no trouble getting the thermostat housing off
