- If you're looking for an absolute classic denim jacket then look no further than this 13oz black sulfur dyed from Naked & Famous. The jacket is cut to fit comfortably in the chest and arms with slash front pockets, inner pocket bags, and chest flap pockets.
Using Japanese selvedge denim (woven on vintage shuttle looms) Naked & Famous have created a lovely light, thin and soft jacket that gives you the ability to layer effortlessly. The denim is dyed black on both the warp and weft for a solid black colour tone and also includes a classic red line selvedge ID. As it is a sulfur dye it means the jacket will resist fading to ensure it stays blacker longer.

All of my selvedge pants are actually NF. I find their Super Guy size 30 just fits me perfectly. I have their Vulgar Selvedge 3, Cerulean Kasuri, Rose Hanami, and Black and Navy Selvedge chinos!
Honestly, the Navy Selvedge Chinos might be my faves which sounds boring, but they just go with everything so well.
To be honst, the chinos are the one thing i was leaning towards as I have so many pairs of denim. I can't keep buying jeans. Chinos are the one thing missing for me

Great quality jacket, I own the same piece. I usually find it hard to find rigid jackets that fits my sholders without being overly restricting but this one fits really well. However, I did remove the washing instructions tags at the bottom as they stick out when unbuttoned.

Good to know cuz I have the same problem! Would you say it breaks in similar to a pair of jeans? The chest on L might me snug on me but the XL would be too big lol

Next video suggestion; how you go about convincing your better half of another purchase. “Everything I own is in indigo but I yet to own a black denim jacket”, doesn’t actually work on your end does it? I tried justifying my denim collection based off varying warp and weft and got the death stare 🔪☠️ 🔪

Yeah the left hand twill midnight edition jacket is super crisp and still kinda is.
it’s been worn around 20ish times and it is still pretty darn krispy. Think it’s the same weight as this one.

You should check out the Freenote Cloth waxed riders jacket if you haven’t heard of them. Not a single review on TH-cam 😉 but they are always sold out fast in all colours
I went with Tellason for a black type III. I do like the hand warmer pockets being lined on the 3sixteen. But being slightly heavier at 13.75 and the waist tabs sold it for me. It is better for layering than my Iron Heart Canvas modified type III. The JT Jacket from Ship John is currently my favorite jean jacket. It feels less Canadian Tuxedo if I do wear denim with it.
I've always wanted to try a Ship John. Though I think I would do it an injustice. Looks like a solid piece that!
Nice review, Cameron! I wish I would have considered this when picking up my black RGT - I feel like RGT runs a bit on the slim side for my body type (fat American that lifts weights too much and doesn’t run enough), but I guess a great excuse to pick up the N&F LOL.

Hi! I just bought two Naked and Famous T-shirts, and I have a pair of Unbranded UB201 jeans that I'm waiting to start wearing once the weather cools down here (Taiwan). I'm curious about this particular Solid Black Selvedge denim, though, but more specifically for jeans. How much have you worn it? How many washes has it had? How is it holding up? Thanks!
