Interested in the jacket. If you do a follow up can you make sure the show it worn in better light? It’s too dark to get much of a sense as to how it wears. It looks a bit small and more of a shirt than a jacket which may be the case with 12oz denim and no hand pockets, no?
I have a question for you sir. I keep hearing this legend that Japanese weavers imported all the American looms when globalization hit. American manufacturing died, etc. etc. However when I look at footage of those looms in action most of them are old Japanese made looms from companies like Toyoda/Toyota. Does that mean that American textile manufacturers were using Japanese made looms at the time they closed down production? If so, does that not imply that the American denim of the 20th century that everyone loves was actually a symbiotic American/Japanese hybrid? Japanese tech and American cotton and labour? If there's anything to my hunch here, then it completely makes sense to have the 21st C selvedge craze be centered in Japan.
Looks great , happy new year ! Check out Ukrainian brand Headges . They create great product and considering it’s made currently under the rocket bombardments… they need our recognition at the very least
You're an invaluable resource so hence this request. I'm heading to Amsterdam next month. Any good shops that you might suggest that cater to the heritage crowd? Japanese jeans, Red Wing boots that sort of thing. I used to live there but it is a vastly different time for men's fashion.
Speaking of it. There is a new Levis type 1 jacket from premium line that is made in salvage super nappy cotton-hempf denim in what i guess is 1 wash with hand warmer pockets. It seems like hamp is coming on more lines
i have this one, warmers, and inside pockets as well, absolutely love it. the cotton/hemp combo is awesome , is a bit warmer than normal denim, but it compezate the lower oz. the structure of the fabric is very nice.
I am out of Fort Worth Texas. I am totally blind, so when describing the color it’s either denim blue, black or a brown or a green. I don’t know all these Safe colors that they are making. I have no clue what this color is now it could be a tan, possibly but just because you cannot say I’m not sure even what I’m lost for words. Please describe the color normal to black denim, brown or beige. Please!
Happy New Year to you, too. This jacket looks very similar to my old 90s Pepe selvedge jacket. In fact, apart from the single pocket and collar I’d say they were identical. 🤔
I love the look of it. Those pockets remind me a lot on early Levis catalogues. They had chark coats, sack coats and triple pleated jackets. I would sware i saw them on one of them
RGT supply is just about the only jacket to really break the mould and do it well. I hate the extra hole though so I'm not sure I'll ever pull the trigger
I agree. It's really obnoxious. Their early jackets don't have it. I own one which doesn't. Another I own doesn't have contrast stitching around the extra hole and so I tolerate it.
I don't see nothing really original, nothing that never been in another denim jacket , just the same details used before . That unique jacket with details never used before already exists, just is not this one.
Cool and unique jacket, nicely reviewed. A bit outside the typical heritage/workwear space, but I was curious if you have any opinions about the Our Legacy Camion boot.
it is worth it if you are looking for a fashion forward boot. If you like the looks go for it. A different route would be to go for an american heritage boot brand if you care more about durability and no compromise. Except of course the looks aren't the same as the camion. My suggestion would be jk boots.
My dream jacket would be a mix of type 2 and 3. Leave the pleats, raise the chest pockets about 1 inch, add hand warmer pockets and the type 3 back cinch buttons. I have a thing about symmetry and proportion.

I've always heard it called a "Club Collar". I think it comes from Ivy League clubs.
Too Artsy, not enough detail.
My absolute favorite denim jacket is the Mister Freedom Ranch Blouse.

Did this jacket shrink at all after wash?

Looks like if u shrink it, it won’t fit u

Happy New Year, Matt. Great review as always.
I'm going to be in Berlin for a few weeks starting Monday! Like your videos, thanks for all the info!
Lots of good spots to check. Burg and schild (Tell them i say hi). DC4. 14oz. Trueffelschwein.
@@CeeAreDee I checked em out and ended up with an Iron Heart denim jacket. Thanks for the tips!
Happy New Year to you, too.

Did I miss something? Who is the maker or who is the vendor? I didn’t quite understand where I can purchase this jacket please help me.
What’s that type of collar called? Where it’s rounded.
Edit: I asked too early but if someone knows let me know.
I think it's a Peter pan collar, tcb good luck jacket has a similar one
What is your height friend?

Great place to hang your shades. You should go for it. You won't regret it...Well, you might.

I believe its called a shawl collar
Looks so smart and well fitting!
Agree, agree, I really like this jacket...
👍
It’s so good
The jacket looks a bit 'off ' below the shoulder where the right breast pocket should be, kind of slightly baggy in that area.
Can you please name the trade shows you mentioned at the beginning? Thank you
That’s weird, I left a comment and now it’s gone…🤔
Too small …
But I make up for it with gusto.
Happy New Year to you too. Thanks for your good yideo. 👍
Looks like a rounded French collar to me
Railcar Fine Goods make a great jacket too!
The rouge territory supply jacket is pretty sweet in opinion
I don't see nothing really original, nothing that never been in another denim jacket , just the same details used before . That unique jacket with details never used before already exists, just is not this one.
So which is the unique one?

I like the shawl collar on a leather jacket. Albert Einstein had a nice one.
The shawl collar is one piece incorporated into the cut of the jacket. Apparently this is called a club collar.
Great fit by the way, really modern
Great video but you should start blocking out your address in videos like this!
Mate. You’re so right with that.
I love the blouse collar
Great-looking jacket! And that's called a club collar.
Ah yip. That makes sense. Thank you
Reminds me of this jaisket - th-cam.com/video/zPiOCD7c_-o/w-d-xo.html
;lory days
SHAWL COLLAR
Wtf
Are their products sanforized?
I think so. Yes.
Happy New Year Matt
Thanks Sven. Same to you
This one gets a hard "no." That rounded pocket makes Daddy saddy.
