Looks superb. The owner seems to be a very concensious, genuine guy. Good to see Nong on top form, hope she can avoid being overworked. Best wishes to your mother for her 90th birthday.
Outstanding video review. David, the owner, seems like a conscientious and genuine guy. I wish him well. And most importantly, that roast looked mightily impressive. I look forward to booking there myself in January. All the best to you and Nong - and happy and healthy 90th to your precious Mum.
A restaurant owner that takes pride in his food is a restaurant i will come and eat at ! after 20 years of comming to Pattaya and greater Thailand i eat my breakfast at the Bon due to there quialty of there food as well as there service but now i will give ther Flame Steak Bisto for dinner a try i am sure it will not be a let down..
Great restaurant, went in twice during my recent holiday, had three courses in there the other night with a drink, I'll try the Sunday roast next time, usually go to Robin Hood similar price for a roast.
As a non-Brit , I came across this Sunday roast the first time through the sitcom In sickness & in health with Alf Garnett in the 80's and his hilarious scene where he did not get his sunday roast .( its on youtube ) And it puzzled me as to why this was such a big deal . Now goin' through Wikipedia , I understand the origin goes back to either 1700 or even Middle Ages . And as it seems , this cultural thing is one thing English and Scottish have in common despite all the other differences. As a cook , I dare not to start this dish pure to so many ingredients you have to watch out for. Big plates those were , will have to try . One month to go and counting. Good vid as always 🖖
Sean Connery - that looks lovely - thank you for the great vid mate. I’m over next year for 3 months to get the lay of the land before my wife joins me for another 3 months of independent travel ❤️👍🏼
Hi David and Nong happy to see you both always nice to see you eating at new restaurants it's give me more choice when i get there and it look very tasty and it was affordable thinking cost like 1600baht here in Chateauguay the same meal for one is 1000baht so you have a good price and quality and quantity thats is a winner have a excellent day David and Nong take care and stay safe my friends sawatdeekhrap kopkounmakkrap. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️
Well david. That food looked good. I will certainly give it go in December. Had a few roasts over in patts. When it comes to western food you pay for quality. You can have some pretty average to low average meals. Let the cheap Charlie's moan
@@DavidAndNong another question you may be be able to help with as my research is letting me down.. is there somewhere I can hire a bicycle? I thought about maybe buying a cheap secondhand one off marketplace but they all seem a bit expensive
Looks good, I will have to try it in December....I find it hard to believe your wife likes to eat all the meat. Most Esan woman usually are Som Tam eaters with occasionally chicken and pork...hardly ever beef....was a good video...
I spoke to David the owner today and he says it is available for 395 baht and is 80% size. It’s not widely promoted but the staff are aware and can just request when you order.
David did you say your mum is 90 if that's right she's in good nick for a 90 year old. I couldn't finish that Sunday roast it would be too much for me I would be stuffed to bursting but it looked delicious I haven't had a decent Yorkshire pudding in a long time.
Hi David and Nong! So where does Flame and similar restaurants source their beef from; OZ or Thai carabeef, aka water buffalo. I assume street market beef skewers are water buffalo of course.
Its very interesting how your wife eats using the fork upside down..I have seen a few videos of Thai women eating like that...its not wrong but so fascinating to watch
Hi David and Nong! So where does Flame and similar restaurants source their beef from; OZ or Thai carabeef, aka water buffalo. It’s a secret eh??? I think I know: it Is carabeef but cooked sous vide @ 135 F for 24 hours. If David used an OZ beef roast the price certainly wouldn’t be 500 baht per meal; more like 1500-2000 per meal. I assume street market beef skewers are water buffalo of course.
Yes there are definitely cheaper options, but as you said the quality is first class. They now also offer unlimited veg upgrade, subject to availability 🙏🙏
That’s about 15 USD people are paying that in the States to go to McDonald’s I would say it’s a bargain but I guess Thailand must be pretty cheap . Sure does look good
It was only the second week that he had done the roast and he had lots of bookings. We were there early to avoid the crowds to allow David to film. Last week her had to turn people away. The Sportsman offers an alternative if you want a buffet style in a smaller venue. This place offers the best plated Sunday roast in Pattaya in a lovely relaxed setting where you are waited on…….and the Sportsman is also 495 baht not 400
Exactly as Keef said, I try to film early to avoid the crowds. The Sportsman unfortunately is too small to film inside (I have tried). Since filming, two weeks ago, they are now fully booked every Sunday. Personally I prefer a plated option over a buffet style, but that's a personal choice. You should give Flames a try, as you will you will be impressed I'm sure 🙏🙏
I hate to say it, but Nong made a big mistake with her gravy. 50% of the gravy should go into the Yorkshire pudding - so it acts as a reservoir throughout the meal.
BTW last week they were having to turn people away. So is popular with many. Prices all over the world are going up and there are not many places doing a wagyu roast at that price
Looks superb. The owner seems to be a very concensious, genuine guy. Good to see Nong on top form, hope she can avoid being overworked. Best wishes to your mother for her 90th birthday.

Was a great feed and for me the best in town in terms of quality vs price.

Flame great restaurant one of the best in Pattaya and for the quality of the meals served very good value
That looked great! I will definitely be coming for one.
Hope you enjoy 🙏 but remember to book, is very busy now
@@DavidAndNong I’m not surprised!

I've always liked Smokin Joe's next door, but I'm sure tempted to take a few more steps and try Flames. The menu looked appetizing!
3:10 "Stuffing dear?" hehe... my fave road for many meals.
really great vlog David, I wish the Flame every success,

Looks like the best roast dinner in Pattaya , gonna have to try this
Good video thanks for the updates I will try the roast when I arrive back in Pattaya 3 weeks 🎉
Can't wait for Sunday...
Remember to book, last week they were fully booked 🙏🙏
Great video Nong & David, need to try roast next time I go, Happy Birthday to Mum
That looked so GOOD ! and lots of it.😊
Looks massive..meat looks fantastic...I would like to see more fresh vegetables...Still best I have seen in Thailand.
Can ask for more free of charge if you wish
Great to see Nong feeling well!

Hello David cant wait to go next month looks fab.
This place looks good
Nice to see you 2 out for dinner again.... these vids are great.
Looks great.
What a wonderful food video David and Nong. Incredibly difficult to predict how many will request without booking ahead. The stress must be awful.

Thanks David, was looking for a proper roast to compete with The Nest - will give it a crack this Sunday thanks mate! 🍺
Happy couple ❤
Good luck to David, seems a top guy.
Hi DAVID NONG , looks like big meal , you’d need to be hungry , you wife is funny , lovely lady regards Jim Hobart Tasmania Australia
That roast looks amazing, i'd need a nap after that
I have never seen a video made about roast in Thailand...very interesting
_I live for this_
That looked beautiful, pity they can’t do it every day 😋😋😋🇬🇧🙏
I do think it’s the best in city David great grub. And near my girlfriend family tattoo shop
Large portion, YES!
the plate looked really good

Spot on
Stayed opposite in March at the Vogue hotel and didn’t go in, will not make that mistake next time!
I can’t say it’s the best, cause I don’t know what it taste like , but 495 Baht it would want to be !
Understand, that's why I included all the reviews that I saw, after we had dined there. It constantly gets praised on all the pages in town 🙏🙏
Hi David
We love your videos and thought you might be able to help us and tell us where we can get a good Guinness on tap?
Not many offer Guinness on tap. I think waterfall in LK & Le Pub do draught, also Robin Hood and Maggie Mays both do 🙏🙏

Definitely Aussie beef at Flame 🙏🙏
You assume wrongly. It’s quality imported beef he uses which
Is why it’s such a good quality meal for the price.
Nothing is cheap. Stay at home if you can't afford it. 😅
1st
495 Baht is pricey but the quality looked there
Yes there are definitely cheaper options, but as you said the quality is first class. They now also offer unlimited veg upgrade, subject to availability 🙏🙏

Thank you.
@timkeightley7573 yes, map in the description 🙏🙏
Hi David, didnt you invite your mum..? Cheers..😊
Every week, but she likes to stay at home so much 🙏🙏
Is that a sausage if so why?

Place is not busy so that says it all . Can go to the Sportsman car very all you can eat for 400 Bt

For sure not the cheapest in town😮. But the taste can be good, but anyway I prefer lamb.
The week after they did a beef/lamb combo rather than the beef/pork I showed on this video. Gotta give it a go 😂
From this week they are doing beef, lamb and pork
The meat looks quality....an obviously frozen yorkshire pudding is a little disappointing, given the price IMHO.
I hate to say it, but Nong made a big mistake with her gravy. 50% of the gravy should go into the Yorkshire pudding - so it acts as a reservoir throughout the meal.
your wife is beautiful.
Easy for my eyes 😍
So Brittish! But, I can appreciate a big plate of meat, fat, and carbs....
500B!!Ridiculous No wonder Pattaya is dying.😢
There are plenty of 200 baht roasts... But nowhere near this quality
BTW last week they were having to turn people away. So is popular with many. Prices all over the world are going up and there are not many places doing a wagyu roast at that price
Looks quality dish david and nong
Too many cheap Charlie expats. You pay for quality
You can go to the sportsman carvery Sunday roast for 400 !
Don't understand why the Brits can't cook anything that has flavor! Bland is an understatement!
Try first, then comment 🤣
Well you clearly haven't got a clue mate, peddling the age old myth that British food is bland and tasteless .
English food was made for hangovers 😃
