    Excellent video Daz! When I lived in Pattaya I didn’t have health insurance but I did have 1st class car insurance. I will need health insurance when I return and will go to Maccallan Insurance Broker to buy the proper insurance I need. Thanks again for this information.

    It was suggested that I get cameras for my car here in Thailand. Yes?
    Pacific Cross would only insure me excluding CVD and HBP - the 2 main causes of death for all people.
    So, I got a medical test showing normal BP and LDL and AIA insured me without restrictions.

    About 2 weeks ago i was renewing my SCB debitcard. They told me that card includes personal accident insurance. I did not ask what it covers since i have another wider insurance but maby for someone option to look closer. Annual cost for this debit card was something between 600-700 baht.

    • @martypoll
      @martypoll 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had similar insurance with my Kasikorn debit card (5000 baht coverage). My first trip to Chiang Mai I fell out of bed and hit my head on a concrete floor. I went to the emergency room and got 5 stitches and a CAT scan. It was about 8000 baht. My Kasikorn insurance reimbursed 5000 a month later. I then purchased 50,000 baht coverage. It seemed like a good deal since I have a large deductible on my general health insurance. Unfortunately they don’t cover me now that I am over 65 years old.

      Medicare doesn’t cover you outside of the US.

    • @martypoll
      @martypoll 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You would have to check with your insurer about what coverage you have overseas. You probably have some coverage as a traveler for a period of time on a reimbursement basis. I bought Thai insurance when I realized my US insurance wouldn’t adequately cover me as a long term resident.

    • @EricDohlon
      @EricDohlon 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your current insurance covers you in Thailand, you don't need an additional insurance. If not, you should have minimal cover that will stabilize your medical condition and save your life. Once you are able to travel, you can return to your home country for additional treatment covered by your current health insurance. (I am a broker with over 20 years experience and specialize in health insurance.)

    • @EricDohlon
      @EricDohlon 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      1st. Avoid big medical bills by not riding a motorcycle. It's not rocket science; if you are never on a bike, you will never fall off a bike. 2nd take good care of your health, learn everything you can about healthy eating habits and exercise. 3rd Use government hospitals. There are 400 private hospitals and 1,000 public hospitals in Thailand. Public/government hospitals charge a fraction of what the private hospitals do and use the same qualified doctors (I have lived here for over 60 years and use government hospitals).
