This is what I like about the clone troopers in TCW; despite being made from the DNA of the same man, their personality developed completely differently depending on their environment.
Yeah, the clones have an interesting nature v nurture thing going within the series. Clone Wars has some great writers that really help show the differences between the clones.
@@ThatGuyWithSomeSubs And that's what probably happened, yet the others would likely want to first talk with Fives. Fox was probably the only one who was listening to orders.
Well as a soilder who has done security detail when we are met with deadly force we respond with deadly force. I don't respond to a gun welding suspect with a tazer. I responded with my primary or secondary wepon.
Yes. In the real world responding to deadly force with deadly force makes perfect sense, but when you have the ability to instantly render someone unconscious with the same weapon you already have trained on him, then it’s a little different. Plus, if I remember correctly, coruscant shock troopers are supposed to always be set to stun anyway unless under extreme circumstances, or if under order by the Chancellor, so he was probably ordered to kill Fives in the first place. Either way, the video forgot some other massive screw ups by Fox that were definitely his fault, like not checking the Coruscant bombing droids even though he was there because of a bomb threat. Pretty much the only good thing I remember him doing was when his response time saved Padmé
Thank you for your service, but in star wars, stuns are always effective when they hit their target, also takers in real life are extremely un reliable at times
Rin Okitaru Im sorry, but the inhibitor chip isn't remote controlled, its a chip thats supposed to follow 150 orders, and none of those orders says "Kill your own brother in cold blood because I said so"
not an attack: I think TCW sends a good message and also serves as a good reminder: 'Following orders' is a choice and is right to disobey them whenever they are unjust.
@@friskjidjidoglu7415 Dogma moreso dealt with that, being too loyal will reep very bad consequences, fox is more so the clone who just followed his orders, by the book. And people don't happen to like that lol.
I'm not gonna lie man, I'm sad to know that Fox died. I like the idea of Clone Troopers being so different than their other brothers. It makes them really unique.
Can we look at this from Fox's perspective? He had every reason to believe Ahsoka was a criminal because she was the only one in the room, the footage looked like she was choking Letta and Fox doesn't even know her like Rex and Anakin did, so i thought he was totally in the right for doing what he did. And the shoot to kill order, obviously yes, Ahsoka is a jedi, and a dangerous one. And with Fives, though he was right and trying to do the good thing, the poor guy was unstable. Add to that he "attacked" the chancellor (the president of the galaxy), who no doubt probably told Fox to shoot to kill anyways, yet he still gave Fives the chance to surrender. Fox is a hero just like any other clone,.. except he was more a pawn of Sidious than most R.I.P Fox :(
Counter argument, never at any point did Ahsoka make the choking position with her hand, he believed that a peacekeeping Jedi suddenly snapped and turned murderer. And 5's had trapped Anakin and Rex non violently before fox charged 5's with a squad calling for his death. 5's had gone through at least 3 attempts on his life at this point and was understandibly panicked.
@@enomisv9830 that wasnt an argument against Foxs perspective. And vaders force choke is different from other users like maul and even sidious who doesnt need to hold his hand out to choke out two mandalorians so that point means nothing
@@enomisv9830 and he wast "calling for his death". He literally said "stand down soldier." And when 5's looked at his pistol Fox said, "Dont do it soldier." Does that sound like a bloodthirsty killer to you?
Maybe he was the one who went to go find a medic? As disagreeable as he is, he's still loyal to his brothers; kind of understandable he'd seize upon any excuse to not be in the room right then and there.
The Fives one never really sits well with me. I've heard the stun argument many times and every time I bring up real world scenarios. You would never ask a police officer to tazer someone who is holding a gun. It is their right to shoot them on the spot. Thus in this situation, when him and his troops are in immediate danger, I see no reason why he should not shoot a soldier that reaches for a gun. No, I am not saying that Fives deserved to die. Rip my mans Fives
This still would me a bad argument against fox not using the stun mode given it literally work through armors and can work on a person even if they are amped up and filled with adrenaline. the stun mode isn't like a taser.
I think the design was intentional in his phase 1 armor it was hard to find him in a group of shock troopers from a distance. But in his phase 2 armor they made it be an inverted phase 2 shock trooper armor , to make him easily recognizable in a group of shock troopers.
Man he killed Fives. Is he also the one in S5 final arc with Ahsoka that ordered her to be killed while escaping prison? Anakin and Rex came in a had to tell Clones to arm weapons to stun. ASS!. I wanna see Rex kill Cody. Didn't know Vader killed Fox but glad he got what he deserved.
I wish fox was more fleshed out in the clone wars or a comic series explaining his character development and more information about why he doesn't like using stun shots maybe an encounter with an enemy that he stunned and it didn't stop him and he gets wounded or something
Well when three officers are killed by what was clearly a lightsaber and you have someone who's actively on the Run you should shot to order to kill you don't take chances to get more people killed And fives pulled a weapon on him of course he's just going to shoot to kill instead of switch to stun
Am I the only one who’s actually quite sad to learn about fox’s death he was always a loyal and good soldier and the fact he ordered them to shoot to kill Ashoka just proves he cared about his clones even though it was bad judgement to give in to his anger. Also he’s quick to believe the Jedi agitators because unlike other clone battalions the coruscant guard doesn’t serve under a Jedi so I doubt he’s had much experience with them. Sorry that’s to long but I’m my opinion Fox was a good soldier and while it would have been better to stun and capture fives (i don’t remember the scene very well but didn’t five’s draw a gun) he had his gun ready to kill because he thought it was a rescue mission and was prepared to be fired upon and not be face to face with him and I doubt he had time to revoke this action because it was a split second decision and I doubt many people here could understand that kind of high stress situation very well but he did what a soldier would do protected himself and his comrades if fives surrendered I would think differently but he didn’t.
Irelevent 123 the reason I hate fox is because he seemed to have no regret when he killed fives. The rest of the shock troopers at least felt bad and took off their helmets to respect fives, but fox just stayed behind and didn’t show any emotion, even though he just killed a brother. He also could have put his gun on stun to apprehend fives, but he just killed his brother. Also, Fox just listens to orders and kind of has extremely poor judgement for a commander
I love how all the ignorant fans hate Fox over that female kaminoin Nala who drugged fives in the first place. Fox isn't my favorite clone but the hate should be geared towards Nala and Palpatine since they are the main reason why Fives was seen as "crazy" but noooooooo let's hate on the clone that did what he was told and even gave Fives a warning to stand down.
lol lol lol lol lol lol stun setting or not the only way this situation would've gone differently is if the series decided to go an alternate route through the timeline on preventing order 66 but because it's canon then unfortunately order 66 was going to happen no matter what.
Actually, the enemy like Duke or Ventress killing Fives vs death in a panic at the hands of a brother is totally different. Further the fact that you cant grasp that says a whole lot about you bubba.
Mad Hatter oh really? what about slick the traitor who betrayed multiple clones and got several of them killed? or commander fay who was completely psychotic and during order 66 blew up a juggernaut tank that had a bunch of clones just to kill Vos? (even though he still survived) Yet somehow Fox is the worst clone when there have been other clones that have done far worse. You not knowing that says alot about you dumbass.
One was a traitor and the other a psychopath, bad guys. NOT people that kept their job and thought they did right. Both knew they did bad but for the "right reasons" in their eyes. (never mind that Fay had the inhibitor chip dictating he do at least SOME of what he did ) Further, they were made to be bad guys and they paid for it in the end. Fox did not and only died by chance. Again engage brain then mouth buttercup./
Fox and Rex were always my favorite clones with Fives, Jesse, Kix, Wolffe, and others coming close. So his actions deeply disappoint me but it’s still sad to hear he died
A number of these reasons are rather unreasonable. Giving the order to shoot to kill isn't an unreasonable one when there's a (seemingly) rogue jedi on the loose and it looks like she killed troopers. Killing Fives under the circumstances he had with what little information he had wasn't unreasonable. You don't aim a taser at a man picking up a gun, you aim a gun at him. As for Fox not telling the other clones of Vader's allegiance, he shouldn't have to. Didn't Palpatine announce to the empire that Vader was basically authorized for just about anything? Referring to the Jedi as traitors isn't unreasonable because it's both programmed into his head and the Jedi aren't all that great in the eyes of the galaxy because the people aren't all that informed on just what the jedi do or how much they did to keep the Sith from making things even worse for the galaxy. I may have missed a few things, but I don't know.
Nicholas Morgan I agree. It is logic that killing fives was reasonable.HE PICKED UP A GUN AND POINTED IT AT A SQUAD OF TROOPERS.How is that not crazy.Fox would have thought”this clones is a danger.Eliminate him”.He was simply following orders. And what about all the clones that killed all the Jedi? They don’t get hate.
Nicholas Morgan This happened just after Vader had been transformed. He hasn't publicly been announced to the Empire or even officers who didn't even know how to adress him. One of the officers even went so far as to say Vader is here as a courtesy. Surprisingly enough, he survived that.
Nicholas Morgan If you see the clone wars you can see that they had a lot of time to prepare since they were in cover where they will not be seen they could have all used there stun mode and it is not hard just having a squad with guns set to stun just having a squad with stun pistols and why did he think fives was gonna stand down it looks like he is insane so why do you think a man that seems insane or drugged will stand down
Zacha Riz IKR killing Fives is a waste of Intel of what is going on and Fives is about to tell to Captain Rex or anybody even the Jedi, Five can’t tell anybody if he dead thank to Fox order 66 is under way
Fox was just perfecting and doing his job, not his fault that the rouge Jedi ran by 2 dead clones or not his fault he shot a clone before that clone shot him! He should not be HATED!
His ID is 1010, split it up and you get 10 10, get both halves and you get 5 5 5 5, put those together and you get 5555, Fives’ ID. *coincidence? I think not*
It says the stun can't go through the armor with the pistols also again palpatine tbe guy in control of the inhibitor chips maybe ordered him to kill him
I suppose I was sad about thorn to but it shouldn’t be that surprising for someone to be care about fox, to the point your assuming I didn’t even know what I was talking about....
So honestly Fox was just doing is job. With fives yes it was sad I loved fives and was sad he died but can you blame Fox he told fives multiple times not to do it not to go for his gun but he still went for it. Now if a crazy guy is reaching for a gun and he plans on pointing it at you and your brothers that you’ve trained with that you lead would you hesitate at all to pull the trigger. Besides we’ve seen the blasters with a stun but we haven’t seen the pistol stun(at least I don’t remember seeing it stun) so how do we know it stuns or maybe in the heat of the moment fox forgot to put it on. Besides after it all of them took off their helmets as maybe in respect and some even looked shocked. With the case of Ashoka, barris made it look like Ashoka beat up his men and killed a couple of them so can you blame him for telling everyone to put it to kill so that his brothers aren’t in danger or that he wanted payback. I have a feeling this comment is gonna get some hate😂
Let's see did you miss the part of a stun setting? One that is just as fast and effective as a blaster bolt? Or do you just kill anything that vexes you when other options are available? Do you need to be detained under the patriot act just in case you are a sociopath?
You are a moron that does not grasp that the stun setting in the SW universe does not work like a taser. It has the range of a blaster bolt and the person goes instantly limp more or less. So in short you are flapping your face with no idea of what you are talking about
Hey, moron I dont know what exactly knocks them out but considering its plasma and tibanna gas that is used its hard to say. However, they do not tense with the stun setting they drop like a rock and go limp. Just because you want to equate it to something does not make it so. Oh look right here Leia gets stunned and her arms do what? Oh, they drop and she is limp on the floor. Thanks for playing buttercup th-cam.com/video/RYelmcVoZg8/w-d-xo.html
Mad Hatter Stun setting travels slower than normal blaster bolts. And yes other dude is right, if you watch TCW whenever someone is stunned they flail a little like they’re being electrocuted.
Well guys take this for instance: The DC-17 pistol was mainly used for combat cause the republic mostly fought droids and also they didn't have many human prisoners, not to mention clones were trained to fight not apprehend. Another reason why fox killed fives was because fox mainly was in the shock trooper division, which means he wouldn't have much action since it was rare for people to try and attack the senate so fox may have never knew about the option. But hey im not trying to defend fox too much here im just saying that he didn't mean to kill fives and that he never knew about the stun option Like i said im not trying to defend fox im just theorizing that he didn't mean to kill him
Personally, Fox was one of my favourite clone commanders. Remember, this is coming from the guy who has a hated video game sadist as a profile picture.
Yeah, and Thorn has a better personality. Honorable soldier who would die for what he believes in > Clone who is too willing to use kill instead of stun
This was the early Lord Vader so there are might some little peaces of Anakin in him. He "Killes" Anakin completly after the Destruction of the Death Star. Maybe it wasnt for Fives but just because he hated that guy and needed an excuse to kill him.
Fox did is job.Does it justified is action?Maybe yes or maybe not.In a situation like the one he was with five i just assume that the stun mode was not a option or he dint have it.For the prison,i think we have the remember that Fox dont know Asoke so it logic that he assume that it was her who kill the clones.
These are some of the most pretty excuses to hate on a clone commander. 1: It was not his fault that Fox and the rest of the coruscant guards couldn't go to the frontlines, they had stay there because their job is litterally in their name, to guard coruscant, the people, the Senate, and the chancellor from enemies of the republic or terrorists trying to attack the capital. 2: He had to follow the orders of the higher ups to them just like how rex, cody, and all the other clones not in the coruscant guard have to follow the orders of their higher up jedi on the battlefield and he didn't know about ashoka's innocence along with not knowing about the clone deaths so Fox had to follow the orders of what happens when ant other prisoner kills three guards. 3: Fives was also an innocent man and was loved by thousands but Fox didn't again know about this and yes, there was a stun option for the pistol being used but after all that Fox had probably heard about Fives during that episode, it was his duty to see Fives as a unstable clone and shoot him if resisted arrest or orders given to him. Fox is a clone who meant no harm and was only doing his duty as a coruscant guard.
Adam Z., Someone also mentioned in this video’s comment section that he tried blocking Cad Bane and his gang from escaping until an order was given out.
Fox it was a good soldiers, because a good soldiers obey order and Fives betray republic and the chancelor, that's why Fox killed Fives, And Fox was in a legitim defense position because Fives was ready to shot him If you regret Fives death I thinks you can hate Palpatine, not Fox he just obey order So stop to tell it's his fault Excuse my english if is not perfect but I'm french
Yes true but no corosont gards should have been using kill with out altherization from the Senate because it was up to them to diside if he would live or die he did not get a trile as most would so it is on commander fox he was kinda braking the law so fiveses death is on commander fox.
There’s a scene in the movie The Fugitive where Tommy Lee Jones (a US Marshal) is chasing Harrison Ford ( a prisoner who has escaped custody after being wrongly convicted of killing his wife). At a point, Harrison Ford gets the upper hand and shouts “I didn’t kill my wife!” To which Tommy Lee Jones responds “I don’t care!” That’s Fox in a nutshell.
It was never said that he was hated or disrespected... This is kinda upsetting... There is no evidence that the clones hated him or the coruscant guard... But good video
Commander Fox I regret to inform you sir but it is my duty to the Republic...most of the people of Coruscant did not like us, most of our own brothers hated us for being stationed at the most easiest worlds to defend when everyone else was dying in combat. It did not help that we served and were more loyal to the chancellor and not the Jedi. And apart from you and a couple other commanders of the CG (65th legion) we were all cloned on a secret cloning facility on Coruscant. FOR THE 65TH LEGION!
I liked fox because he protected his solider when fives tried to harm his men also if a man was pointing a live gun at your men would you waste your time setting it to stun and risk him killing your friends or would you end it right there
As a police force my gun would ALWAYS be on stun. I know its hard to grasp but unless you are at war with tech like he had there is never a reason NOT to be on stun. Especially as a law enforcement officer not a soldier.
I think Palpatine might of ordered Fox to kill fives as Palpatine (in the same episode) did a secret call to the leadership of Kamino about killing fives
Everyone says it’s foxes fault for not putting his blaster to stun before he shot fives. But in the scene before he got to the storage place, he was with palpatine, who had just framed fives for trying to kill him. Since fives new about order 66 now, palpatine may have considered him a threat and told fox shoot to kill
He was such a cool character in the beginning. I feel like they could have made him a better character but they chose to make him an antagonist. Also the Clones stations on corasaunt only know that type of life so their perspective on the galaxy is different from other Clones.
But think of this if you hate Fox for killing Fives: I heard this from one of my friends, so I’ll paraphrase what my friend proposed. What if Commander Fox was ordered just to capture Fives, and set his weapon to stun, but Palpatine secretly switched Fox’s weapon to kill?
Fox was one of my favorite commanders until he didn’t let Skywalker visit, I saw him in that zero the hutt scene and I loved him. Now I’m on the Bacara train
He was following orders. Most other clones would have probably done the same if a rogue clone, that supposedly attempted to murder the supreme chancellor, pulled a blaster on your squad when you told him not to several times.
I wish LEGO made a phase two Fox mini-figure it would have been perfect for the police gunship set , and also Fox being in the spider droid set makes no sense.
@2:44 I thought that it was confirmed to be an incident that Fox killed fives, because he thought he had it on stun, and also with ashoka, they used stun on an armed jedi, so why didn't they use stun on an unarmed clone. He also felt bad about killing fives, as you can clearly see.
so hes basically hated for: serving on coruscant? he may have gotten the order to serve there, it maybe wasnt his decidsion ordering to kill a prisoner who escaped and obviously is way stronger than any clone killing someone who held a jedi and a clone captured and reached and who reached for his gun? For me those actions are completely ok considering the information he had...

R.I.P Fox :(
Couldn't have said it better myself
He literally said "stand down soldier." And when 5's looked at his pistol Fox said, "Dont do it soldier."
Does that sound like a bloodthirsty killer to you?
@@joshfournier9390 but sideous is one of the most powerful force users ever so I hardly think that's a fair comparison.
Why fox was not present when all the Shock Troopers took off their helmets and all surrounded Fives.
Brix2You Yeah I asked the question myself quite a time xD
Imo fox knew that palpatine was evil
I always just saw it as an animation error. Not sure though
Thinks its because its disrespectful to honour someone you killed
Yes, it’s called authorization of Deadly Force. Fives displayed that to them but without them descaling the situation as they should of.
This still would me a bad argument against fox not using the stun mode given it literally work through armors and can work on a person even if they are amped up and filled with adrenaline. the stun mode isn't like a taser.
Tho fox had some badass armour tho, that inverted shock trooper looks pretty dope
Cody tried to kill Obi Wan on Utapou in in ep III, after serving under him during the clone wars for about 3 years.
Jock McScottish no shit
Jock McScottish Cody had no control over attempting to kill obi wan
But Fox was in control when he ordered his men to kill Ahsoka.
Rocka Craig that is correct but I'm talking about cody
I wish fox was more fleshed out in the clone wars or a comic series explaining his character development and more information about why he doesn't like using stun shots maybe an encounter with an enemy that he stunned and it didn't stop him and he gets wounded or something
That’s an interesting thought. And that could totally be something that happened to him during his time on Courasaunt.
That said he had one of the coolest armour and names.
true, true.
Well when three officers are killed by what was clearly a lightsaber and you have someone who's actively on the Run you should shot to order to kill you don't take chances to get more people killed
And fives pulled a weapon on him of course he's just going to shoot to kill instead of switch to stun
Fick u
No u
King Crimson your right bc Fives had his fingers on trigger
you all forget that in a new hope Leia pulled a gun on the storm troopers, and shot and killed one, but they still set to stun.
@@Toasted_waffIe They were ordered to capture her alive.

Gabriel Tejada True but I would never truly agree unless he realized there was a *stun setting.*
lol lol lol lol lol lol stun setting or not the only way this situation would've gone differently is if the series decided to go an alternate route through the timeline on preventing order 66 but because it's canon then unfortunately order 66 was going to happen no matter what.
I dont blame fox, he was just doing his job and he looked sorry when he shot fives.
no he dosent
Tiger Tiger he did
He didn’t, unless he looked sad through his helmet
St1ckman he had taken off his helmet after he shoot fives
THE PISTOL HAD A TAZER IN IT
A number of these reasons are rather unreasonable.

So honestly Fox was just doing is job. Fox gets a bad rap. What was he supposed to do? A deranged madman and attempted assassin (as far as Fox knew) pulled a gun on Fox and his men.
Let's see did you miss the part of a stun setting? One that is just as fast and effective as a blaster bolt? Or do you just kill anything that vexes you when other options are available? Do you need to be detained under the patriot act just in case you are a sociopath?
Pod The Rod Use the stun setting.
Well guys take this for instance:
The DC-17 pistol was mainly used for combat cause the republic mostly fought droids and also they didn't have many human prisoners, not to mention clones were trained to fight not apprehend.
Another reason why fox killed fives was because fox mainly was in the shock trooper division, which means he wouldn't have much action since it was rare for people to try and attack the senate so fox may have never knew about the option.
But hey im not trying to defend fox too much here im just saying that he didn't mean to kill fives and that he never knew about the stun option
Like i said im not trying to defend fox im just theorizing that he didn't mean to kill him

Adam Z. No. He meant plenty of harm.
Gamewalker 11 clones are literally brothers they didn’t like killing each other
Adam Z., Someone also mentioned in this video’s comment section that he tried blocking Cad Bane and his gang from escaping until an order was given out.

He was following orders. Most other clones would have probably done the same if a rogue clone, that supposedly attempted to murder the supreme chancellor, pulled a blaster on your squad when you told him not to several times.
I was very disappointed in him I always loved his armor and had his LEGO figure as a kid
He also felt bad about killing fives, as you can clearly see.
so hes basically hated for:
serving on coruscant? he may have gotten the order to serve there, it maybe wasnt his decidsion
ordering to kill a prisoner who escaped and obviously is way stronger than any clone
killing someone who held a jedi and a clone captured and reached and who reached for his gun?
For me those actions are completely ok considering the information he had...
