    The problem with discord is: People there most of the time want to make friends or chit-chat about k-pop and they just stick to English instead of trying to use what they've learnt, which is highly frustrating. The English rooms are always active whilst the Only-Korean ones are active once in a blue moon.
    Update:
    And now this same thing is happening in your server, up for English chit chat all are there, for talking in Korean just a few. Truly, what is the point of joining if one is not even gonna try? Ridiculous and irritating *sigh *

    A couple years ago I started learning Korean along with my twin sister and my best friend. I learned and memorized faster than them so I would help them with their studying but after some terrible moments we all just ended up stopping our studies and started to focus on our own mental and physical health. After seeing your first video pop up in my recommendations, I decided that I should probably start learning again. Another reason I decided to stop was that a lot of my coworkers and family members would judge or tease me about learning the language and so i'd feel really embarrassed and tried hiding that I was learning before fully stopping.

    • @KoiSouffle

      Ignore these fools😂 They are just envying you, because you are becoming bilingual. When I started learning "unpopular languages" a lot of people were making fun of Korean especially (*awkwardly imitating Chinese language). Some others were just amazed. And there were a few who didn't believe I could speak Korean, cause of how difficult (*again thinking of Chinese or Japanese) it is.
      But yeah I know this feeling. When I transfer school I will only tell my good friends, what languages I study and not every random person who is talking to me😅

    • @apaiiyui8488
      @apaiiyui8488 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@mial.4328 yes you totally said the right things ! A few days ago my dad asked me because i was constantly watching RUN BTS but it has been really awhile since i have watched it in front of him.. he asked me if I learned something out of it.. he said it wasn't bad meant but well 🙄 i think people are quite racist in my opinion and that's sad 🤦🏻‍♀️
      I told him a few months ago that i wanted to learn korean but that's all 🥲
      So yes, sorry for my story, It's nice to see people encouraging each other ☺️ thank you for your words, even if i'm probably way older, i feel it nice for her as well. You can easily get pressure how people react at you.. but the best is to keep it for yourself after all even from family 😅

    • @sgtmian
      @sgtmian 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      ignore them, they’re just insecure because you’ve committed yourself to learning something they dont understand, that’s why they tease. it’s like that with anything you’re getting better at, people will always feel the need to make you feel bad about knowing something they don’t so they can feel better about themselves. don’t let them get to you. i either ignore or i invite them to join me, or ask them what things they like learning, that usually disarms them, because it’s not that i’m saying i’m better than them, it’s just about putting effort into something you enjoy and they can do that too. sometimes they’re just racist and predjudiced and arent worth the effort. you have nothing to be embarrassed about, learning another language and culture is a beautiful thing and you should be proud of that.

I feel awkward in changing my ways of learning, but I found that new, unorthodox methods have worked better. Your videos have solidified it for me. This video has made me feel so much better. Ever since I started learning Korean, I was frustrated about how easily I was learning how to do everything me except for speaking. I was covering content well and I knew how to formulate sentences in written form but just repeating the sentences out loud is a challenge for me. Now I realize I’ve been rushing my language learning process and should instead try to reach an adequate input level before I start focusing on output so it is less stressing and I don’t feel incompetent. Thank you for your video!

    I want to say, thank you so much for these videos! I've been 'studying' Korean since 2018, unfortunately until after watching your first video that only consisted of Duolingo 😅. Which has been a great resource for me! It's really good for practicing and I was able to learn how to read Korean with it! But, it's very easy to neglect when one app is your source of learning. It is also very easy to forget what you have learned. Already in the past couple of weeks(since your first video), I have been finding many more free resources online and learning so much more through them! I have also been able to stay consistent every single day. I bought journals to write notes in and have been getting much more writing practice in as well. It actually feels like I have been able to teach myself a few things and I can see myself becoming fluent like you if I can keep it up. So if you see this, again, thank you!

    I have watched all of your videos but I just don't know where to start, its just frustrating cuz its been 2 years I haven't learnt much and I'm just getting back to square one, I followed your first video and its just kinda surprising how I went from just reading awkwardly, knowing how to read or write but not understanding anything to being close to fluent in what I've learnt up until now.
    I had only known the alphabets, phonics, reading and writing but I didn't know what it meant, but I finally realised that it was the start, and I should continue, your videos motivated me a lot and now I'm learning honorifics and I'm getting a step closer to the end product.
    니가 너무너무 감사드려요! (please do correct me if I'm wrong lmfao)

      Since 니가 is informal it's better not include it in the sentence and just go with 너무 감사드려요 ^^
      I'm glad my videos could help!!

    Very nice videos! Really enjoying all the tips here. I am still a complete starter but I feel like your tips will really be a great help along the way! I hope you find your way with talking to people you don't really know as well. I already think these video's are a great way forward on that! Very nice backgrounds and videoshots as well! ~ Christian (Hi from the Netherlands)

    I've been learning Korean for about a year and I procrastinate a lot during this time🤧 But your videos really inspired me 🌺
    Please make a video on "Reading practice". I'm very slow in reading Korean and because of that I don't understand the sentence at once even if I know the grammar and vocabulary.
    감사합니다 화이팅! 😊

    First of all I love your voice so much! I’m so thankful to the algorithm for recommending me this channel 🥺 It reminds me of when I used to study Korean more and your dedication to it inspires me to want to study diligently again 😄 I can relate to this a lot, especially all the solo studying methods since things like discord or vrchat feel too intimidating (but I will check out the servers!) 😆 That last method seems useful I will try to do it more! I’m looking forward to any content hehe I would have loved to see this type of channel back when I first started learning 😄 (this is already a long message although I rarely comment but I just think these three videos were so well made, keep up the good work!)

    I’ve downloaded Hello Talk to start looking for Korean/foreign friends who could help me practice. I’m Italian so i’ve found some people that told me “ teach me Italian” or something like this. Other just wanted to have some friends and not practice languages. I really like this video because it gives you tips to solo practicing and also cause i’m introverted.
