I never realized how awful heart break was. After the breakup my heart was beating so fast and so "loud" for weeks. The first week, I couldn't even hear people at work because my ears were filled with the sound of my heart beating. I constantly felt like I was going to vomit or faint. I also could not eat. Food tasted like nothing. I could not sleep so I was also delirious and erratic. The crying and lack of food/water left me dehydrated.
I guess everyone who truly loved someone went thru this. Tell me how do you feel now after 1 year? Time can change such feelings, is it the case with you?

But it's true, if you really love them you have to let them go and if they come back, it was always meant to be. If they don't, accept it, and find consolation in everything else. Know that your heartbreak will teach you more about you and your life than being in love did and that's the silver lining even if you don't see it now.
To get over something you have to move on then and there. No wanting him to say I love you one last time. Forget everything about that person then and there. There is no one last time when moving on is the correct thing.

Kai You i'm basically in the same situation. To put it simple I really love this one girl and she made me smile every day. I just recently had my heart broken. My first relationship, the first person I've ever loved in a romantic way, all of those memories are thrown away forever. The cause for actual pain is that after something extreme either psychological or physical, the body is producing an immense amount of stress hormones which then can cause negative reactions to your heart. So a friendship can definitely be a cause for that. This syndrome is not related to any specific thing. It could even be the loss of something you value like a an object.
Sleep is the only escape I get from my heartbreak, but sometimes that doesn't even help because I'll see her in my dreams. EDIT: 4 years later it definitely gets easier haha; smoke weed, hit the gym, make money and hang out with your friends

I am suffering from a broken heart right now, and it is bad, really bad. I am probably replying too late but I am almost going through the same thing. I met this guy who broke up with his girlfriend of 4 years (they lived together for 3) a month before we met. I broke up with my ex too because I wasn't in love anymore (yeah, broke his heart too...) so when we met, it was pure attraction. We became friends with benefits and everything was good, but then we started spending time together and the months past. At the end we would meet and not even sleep together, we would do normal things like cooking, working out, going to the theater. And eventually we talked about it and we stated that I was going in the same direction, we were beginning to feel like we could at some point start a relationship but we wanted to wait. Then one day he comes to me and tells me that he can't be with me and give me a serious relationship right now, so he kept his distance for a week. Then he came back and we tried it again as before and then finally he admitted to me that he wanted to try it with his ex again. So puff.. Everything disappeared as if it were nothing. Aand I am so sad, we shared so many good things we laughed together all the time, we did stupid things together and I truly had hope... But he was just thinking about her this whole time....i just want the pain to be over

Its a shame, that moment in your life when you realise you are wasting the only time you have here alone. I kinda got rejected on my 13th birthday by the love of my life, we were best friends for ages and we loved each other. But idk why but she said no when I asked her to be my girlfriend on my birthday , maybe I moved too fast? Anyway I've not loved anyone for ages and I even thought about suicide because my dad died 3 years earlier, my school life was bad coz I was made fun of for ages and I had hardly any friends, and I just couldn't think things through properly. I got really depressed. But I managed to pull my self together, I'm not depressed anymore, I started working out so I'm a bit muscly now, I'm really athletic. And my life is generally better now, took me a few months but I'm happy again. Plus I'm basic friends with her again now, so things aren't awquard. But I'm still lonely, I still want a girlfriend but there is no one I love so I'm just waiting for the right one for me. In the mean time I'm lifting weights, getting better in school, and just having a generally better life

I personally never felt sad or depressed for being alone, i actually most of the time looked at the bright side of things and appreciated the space and calmness that came with the loneliness. However when i eventually fell in love i couldn't stand the thought of loosing her, when i unavoidably did i didn't cry or feel the need to seek others for help. Instead i just went quiet. I didn't speak if i didn't have to an most of the time i got stressed and grumpy if someone tried to socialize with me. This went on for quite some time until i forgave myself for the mistakes i had made and accepted my faith.

Yep, pretty damned accurate. My ex-boyfriend, who I'm still in love with (though I wish I could just hate his guts, like I should), dumped me two weeks ago. He's a coward. He broke up with me over the phone. It's ironic because he barely ever texted or called me while we were dating. I think he might have texted me like 3 or 4 times and that's it. I always initiated contact. In fact, I initiated everything. I asked him out, I suggested more than half our plans. Here's the real kicker. He's 38 and I'm only the second girlfriend he's ever had. I'm 25, so there was a bit of an age difference. To top it off, he's a virgin. None of those things mattered to me in the least. I loved him and I let him set the pace completely. He was so scared of commitment that he never once introduced me as his girlfriend in public. All he would say is "This is Lauren." when he introduced me to his friends and others he knew. It would make me so angry, but I constantly bit my tongue and withheld my anger because I knew it wouldn't solve anything to explode at him over it. I saw the all red flags but I ignored them because I was so fucking smitten. I just want to forget that I ever met him, truthfully, because it is agony to watch the first person you've ever felt you could be with long-term act like there was never anything between you and them. You're bloody right I'd rather be physically injured than go through this pain every day.

My aunt died not even a month ago very spontaneously. No one expected her to die, and she was young. One day after her funeral my uncle (his wife) died. We found out he had a broken heart, and literally couldn’t be alive without her.

I just recently had my heart broken. My first relationship, the first person I've ever loved in a romantic way, all of those memories are thrown away forever. The cause for actual pain is that after something extreme either psychological or physical, the body is producing an immense amount of stress hormones which then can cause negative reactions to your heart. So a friendship can definitely be a cause for that. This syndrome is not related to any specific thing. It could even be the loss of something you value like a an object.

He was the first person that I really loved, he was the one person I could talk to about anything in the world, he was the one person that made me finally understand the true meaning of love songs and romantic movies. I am probably replying too late but I am almost going through the same thing. I met this guy who broke up with his girlfriend of 4 years (they lived together for 3) a month before we met. I broke up with my ex too because I wasn't in love anymore (yeah, broke his heart too...) so when we met, it was pure attraction. We became friends with benefits and everything was good, but then we started spending time together and the months past. At the end we would meet and not even sleep together, we would do normal things like cooking, working out, going to the theater. And eventually we talked about it and we stated that I was going in the same direction, we were beginning to feel like we could at some point start a relationship but we wanted to wait. Then one day he comes to me and tells me that he can't be with me and give me a serious relationship right now, so he kept his distance for a week. Then he came back and we tried it again as before and then finally he admitted to me that he wanted to try it with his ex again. So puff.. Everything disappeared as if it were nothing.
Aand I am so sad, we shared so many good things we laughed together all the time, we did stupid things together and I truly had hope... But he was just thinking about her this whole time....i just want the pain to be over

I kinda got rejected on my 13th birthday by the love of my life, we were best friends for ages and we loved each other. But idk why but she said no when I asked her to be my girlfriend on my birthday , maybe I moved too fast? Anyway I've not loved anyone for ages and I even thought about suicide because my dad died 3 years earlier, my school life was bad coz I was made fun of for ages and I had hardly any friends, and I just couldn't think things through properly. I got really depressed. But I managed to pull my self together, I'm not depressed anymore, I started working out so I'm a bit muscly now, I'm really athletic. And my life is generally better now, took me a few months but I'm happy again. Plus I'm basic friends with her again now, so things aren't awquard. But I'm still lonely, I still want a girlfriend but there is no one I love so I'm just waiting for the right one for me. In the mean time I'm lifting weights, getting better in school, and just having a generally better life

I started dating a girl, and I slowly fell in love with her, and I thought she felt the same, but yesterday, when I got home, I saw her instagram story ... she was kissing another guy

I personally never felt sad or depressed for being alone, i actually most of the time looked at the bright side of things and appreciated the space and calmness that came with the loneliness.
However when i eventually fell in love i couldn't stand the thought of loosing her, when i unavoidably did i didn't cry or feel the need to seek others for help. Instead i just went quiet. I didn't speak if i didn't have to an most of the time i got stressed and grumpy if someone tried to socialize with me.
This went on for quite some time until i forgave myself for the mistakes i had made and accepted my faith.

It's not that i don't have friends and family. I just feel a lot better when i'm alone if i'm dealing with emotional issues

This is why love is important because when we feel isolated we just don't want to admit it and frankly we become destructive and yes, physical pain is way painless It's a lot easier to destroy than to create, trust me. Yep, pretty damned accurate. My ex-boyfriend, who I'm still in love with (though I wish I could just hate his guts, like I should), dumped me two weeks ago. He's a coward. He broke up with me over the phone. It's ironic because he barely ever texted or called me while we were dating. I think he might have texted me like 3 or 4 times and that's it. I always initiated contact. In fact, I initiated everything. I asked him out, I suggested more than half our plans. Here's the real kicker. He's 38 and I'm only the second girlfriend he's ever had. I'm 25, so there was a bit of an age difference. To top it off, he's a virgin. None of those things mattered to me in the least. I loved him and I let him set the pace completely. He was so scared of commitment that he never once introduced me as his girlfriend in public. All he would say is "This is Lauren." when he introduced me to his friends and others he knew. It would make me so angry, but I constantly bit my tongue and withheld my anger because I knew it wouldn't solve anything to explode at him over it. I saw the all red flags but I ignored them because I was so fucking smitten. I just want to forget that I ever met him, truthfully, because it is agony to watch the first person you've ever felt you could be with long-term act like there was never anything between you and them. You're bloody right I'd rather be physically injured than go through this pain every day.
this video merely serves to remind those experiencing social isolation that the very thing they are not able to do is the thing they need to do. it doesn't provide instructions for how to reverse social exclusion. all it says is to surround yourself with people, without saying how to do this. it treats viewers as if they're too stupid to figure out that they're socially isolated and need people.
