    Sir, you are most generous to take the time to create these videos. They are informative and very well done. The 944 community certainly appreciates you sharing them. I have owned an 86 NA since 2002 and have learned a lot from you. Thanks!

    • @NC944er
      @NC944er  ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you saying that the hood on the car won't open? The hood release lever to the left of the driver's side footwell uses a cable system to actuate the latch, so you won't need a battery. It's not uncommon for the lever to break or the cable to become detached. If there is no resistance on the lever, you can pull back the carpeting in that area and see if you can find the end of the cable and pull on it with some pliers. If you can't find anything there, you can also go up under the front of the car and reach up with with a pair of needle-nose pliers and pull the cable to release the latch.

    Took apart my AOS last night. Tough to get the top off. No o-ring. Do you think the O-ring came in later years? Mine is a 83 944.

    • @NC944er
      @NC944er  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Wow, well that would certainly explain a leak there. 😂 Yeah, both the early and late versions featured an o-ring at the top, and they can be a pain to remove carefully. You should see a slight step-down or groove around the top edge where the o-ring would sit. I have seen people forgo a replacement o-ring and just RTV the heck out of the top lid connection to seal it back up. Maybe someone was in there before? Also, Tim from CRE has an informative look at the AOS that’s worth checking out for more details - th-cam.com/video/0WxojRGJLAk/w-d-xo.html

      Hello Marco! I need to come visit your country one day. 😂 What is the model year of your car? The design of plastic cover for the fuel rail changed from the early to the later cars, so they will have different part numbers. Most of the covers are no longer in production by Porsche, but you can often find used covers on eBay or from salvage auto vendors.
