Even though I may not share the same faith as Mehmed the conqueror, since I am a Roman Catholic. I still admire ambitious and pious people including him who throughout history take risks to become a legend. I was always fascinated by the Sultans Mehmed and Saladin.

Sultan Mehmet conquered Constantinople, and almost united the whole Anatolia, he tried reaching Italy, yet he had passed and couldn't make it happen. Furthermore, he established a Roman-like system which made the empire, for some people his empire was a Roman Empire since he was also known as Kaiser of Rum (Rome), last for 500 years. In summary, he was the greatest leader in the middle age and created the roots of a new, modernized nation, when Salahadin is only known with his Jerusalem and Islamic acts.
If you think Mehmed was all about conquering you should read about him more often.
The actor who played the role of Mehmed was amazing. He brought the character so lively. Kudos to directors of this series too. Story telling was amazing. Great team work. One of the best epic i have ever seen till now.
As a history fan, I have always admired the accomplishments of Fatih Mehmed ll.
Few people in history have the title of Conqueror and he was worthy of that title. He strove to make Constantinople and the ottoman empire a multicultural, multi religious, wealthy kingdom. He was a one of a kind leader, the Turks were lucky to have him.
