That happend right after he became sultan any other sultan like Selim the Drunkard would easily be undermined and overwhelmed by this rebellion, then he easily crushed the rebellion in Egypt caused by Ahmed pasha and had many conquests and wins,Also to govern an empire which had just doubled its size in 8 years is really impressive because Suleiman The magnificent and Yavuz Sultan Selim were the only ones to maintain authority over all the lands later sultans like Murad,Mehmed,Ahmed,Osman did not have much control and authority over these areas as much as those two had, yes i do agree that, the empire was handed to a drunkard the sehzhade's who actually knew how to govern and rule either died of diseases or rebelled agaisnt him, And also significantly agreed sultan Murad had great potential to overshadow any other sultans in rulership many sources claim that he was the most physically strong sultan among the ottoman Khans His victory of Bagdat really proved his wits but sadly he succumbed to his wine addiction (the rule he prohibited himself)
